- In today’s acrylic painting lesson we paint a landscape depicting a warm field full of grass and sun with trees that frame the painting. This relaxing painting tutorial is completed for the most part in real time and will cover the step by step process of how to paint trees, reflections, leaves and of course how to make it all look realistic. Acrylic Paints:
Cadmium Yellow Deep Hue, Cadmium Yellow Light Hue , Naples Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Mars Black, Titanium White
Brushes:
1” flat headed brush
1/2” flat headed brush (fairly rough)
1/3" filbert brush
A soft fan brush
A stiff fan brush
A small round pointed brush or liner brush
Other Materials:8X10 inch canvas, A small dish for water, Paper towel for excess paint

So very glad I found this video. It is the most in - depth painting tutorial I've found so far. The tips and instructions you give us here are ones that I know I need because I am a beginning painter. I'm unable to spend much time on doing them, but, when I DO paint, I want them to look as realistic as possible. What you said about the reason your trees sometimes look cartoonish is something I've been searching for, for a long time !!! So, TYSM for putting that tidbit of info in this video along with all your other instructions. I'm very appreciative of the length of time you put in to making this tutorial for us. Am gonna try to watch it several times before resuming the painting I'm presently working on right now, though. So far, I'm up to the grass - background colors. Hopefully mine will turn out looking at least half as great as yours has in this video. TY again for the time you spent making this video 👍!!!

What brand if paints do you use?
Fall is the best season of the year, I just LOVE watching how the leafs are changing colors and it´s like the forest is on fire (without the heat) air is getting more crisp, everything is getting more quiet, and where I live, the darkness takes over, which means more candles and snuggling with blankets 💜 I´m totally a fall/winter kinda gal :) I live for the calm it brings 💜

Pete, do some research on using a drop of glycerin in yr ink to keep it from chunking up. hi don't know about ink but ii use abt 3 drops in 4 oz water sprayer on paints to keep them from dying out (gouache for example, and resurrected all mediums, texture pastes, modeling pastes, matte mediums, et al). Perhaps yr wife has a couple of small empty glass jars, makeup or cream size, sample sizes, where a pipette amount of ink and a drop of glycerin (now brand) could be a tester.
Seasons change would be a nice title for this painting actually..I loved watching this.Your the first person who has actually shown how to use Acrylics properly ..Most wiz through without explaining.I never used them as I was not sure,but you have made them sound much more interesting and fun to use.as well as easier than oils.Don’t like the smell of those.This was lovely to watch .When you got to the leaves and stood back saying it was like a painting in two halves.You could have put fallen leaves on the ground around the trees and out a bit into the grass to bring that colour through.Nature does that in the Autumn.Your doing a great job ..Love n Light 🥰

well, i'm aout half-way through this tutorial, and while i will probably love the end product, i'm finding this super tedious and not at all enjoyable. i started this painting about three months ago, and just get so disinterested that when he says 'we need to let this dry', i take a break that could be as much as three weeks. i'm never really excited to come back to it. Right now, im probably done for a few weeks. sigh

The comment section of the post is also filled with a lot of great suggestions from the community! There are quite a lot of ways to go about it and the transfer style really comes down to personal preference: www.patreon.com/posts/lets-talk-about-26282053
As for enlarging the image, when I work on big canvas, like a 24x36 inch piece I bring the photo into photoshop, make a file that's the same dimensions then break up the piece equally so I can print portions of it on different pages. Hope that helps!
