These reviews are satisfying af. As a student who has watched and been inspired by both you and those like Markobi, it’s endlessly fun to sit with you and react. Please do Lennart Green soon!
The awe you experienced in watching this act, Jason, is the exact same awe that I experience when I watch you perform (or teach, but especially perform) your tricks.
That "Find the queens" was insanely amazing. I sometimes have an IDEA how it's done.. I honestly have not a SINGLE idea how that last put was performed.
The power of magic is in reminding the audience that their individual perspective is limited, which reminds us there is more to reality than any single person can know. Deeper understanding of reality requires collaboration among people. Thank you, Jason, for your work and content!
I felt the same way the first time I saw this routine. Def has a Lennart green feel, but brought into his own entirely. No clue how he is keeping things together... much less getting the spectators to pull those queens again and again. Awesome.
Second time watching that routine and since I haven't figured out how people pull coins out of ears I'll probably never understand what that guy did. Probably. Love your channel. Stay well.
I have been a fan of magic for 40 years, and still get blown away by an act like that. WOW! A lot of card tricks I at least have an idea of what's going on, but not the faintest clue here. Nice version of the paddle trick too!
Jason I think your great man. I love magic so much that I never watch reveals and such. But the best trait you have is your enthusiasm. And not get jealous if you don’t know the trick. Your still a kid watching their first coin behind the ear trick. Much love from me and my friends I link you to. Deano 🇬🇧.
Is it me or is this like the 'drunken master' style of card magic.. getting distracted by the chaos and perceived clumsiness so you do not see just how crazy skilled he is?
I have some magic time, owning a magic shop, performing... this guy deserves the top spot. I have seen a few messy card routines but this takes the cake!
OH MY GOSH JASON 😮❗️ I’ve been thinking about this guy all day because of some other magic I watched this morning. I can’t believe that now you’re sharing it😮❗️ Great minds think alike. I’m only at minute 3: but just had to Thank you in advance for this treat. And you know that I love your MAGIC BAYBEEEEE🎉 BLESSINGS, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
The teleporting card bit blew my mind. The only even remote guess I could have is that at the beginning, he scribbled on the card, but had a duplicate of the scribbled card? I totally agree, this man more than deserves the world champion title. Holy shit...
I feel like he has to have some duplicates, which would explain scribbling on the card. I still have no idea how he's doing it but I feel like that's part of the answer..
There is not a duplicate card, the transporting Queen of Clubs is actually the queen of spades which he flashes very briefly on purpose so you don’t have time to make out it’s a spade. That’s my guess!
@@douglaseiker2103 I believe he does the most obvious of deck swaps hidden by his bumbling style, after that he still controls the cards amazingly, ie he has to control the queens, although they are marked by the only turned over cards in each pile, and he "accidently turns over 5 odd cards, then all the others are scribbled on queens.
I think that the trick is largely based on 1) the illusion of a unique card - in fact there are multiple scribbled queens in play 2) those scribbled queens start out on the back of another card, with a stickiness enough to make them appear a single card in the hands of someone else, but he has a sleight of hand to flip them over and switch backs. This would reduce the control needed on the random shuffling and explain quite a few elements of the trick. Other parts of the trick do however maintain control over random shuffling, such as the flush. I think he keeps an eye on those 5 cards. This in turn creates the illusion that the rest of the trick also relies on extreme control over random shuffling. I've seen this trick many times now and this is my best shot at explaining. I could be completely wrong though. The guy is definitely acting on a whole other level.
I've seen this routine before, and I found it hilarious....and incredible! But to see a magician of Jason's caliber being totally bowled over by the guy's ability... That's saying something! Thanks for the review!
LMFAO! When you, a magician, are just as mind blown as me, NOT a magician, you know those card tricks are really special. 😎 His entire, bumbling, comedic routine is just amazing.
I was thinking of Lenard Green too! The chaotic presentation, the rambling, jumping between the trick and nonsense. The kit kat was soo nice, to cover his left angle right after he said he can eat that.
I love watching magic to try and figure out how, when and were the “trick(s)” comes into play. It’s how my mind works, solve the riddle. I am absolutely baffled at this performance. My first time seeing the video as well and I feel I figured out a few things but the majority of the performance left me swearing (I have three little kids so my filter is on pretty tight these days, yet I still swore nearly loud enough to wake the kids)!
Holy smokes man, he is in a whole other league. Another performance that is on another level is Mr. Tony Slydini's helicopter card trick. It's much more simple but everything about it is just top notch. I wish I could find more of his work.
Saw this live at FISM and was absolutely floored. From the first performance on (I think) the second day of close up competition I knew this had to win.
I saw his performance before and my reaction was pretty much the same: How on all earth did he do that? If you control the cards, that's one thing, but here people from the audience pick the cards from a table. If you offer them the cards, you can use a force but you cannot use a force if they are free to pick up any card they like from a table. So you need to use sleight of hand to swap their picked card with the desired card and I've watched that performance frame by frame multiple times and I cannot see where or how he did that. I see no card swap or any way how he would hide a card in full plain sight to even perform such a swap. He must either be incredible fast and have a flawless handling or he uses a very clever trick that I'm not even able to think of.
@@BrokeTheSeal Your comment only explains one of the tricks he performs and none of the tricks where the spectators themselves picked the card from the table.
@@xcoder1122 re-read my comment. If he marked the cards that helps him with many of the tricks . I also said he had double signature cards. Also the last trick I said he had multiple Queens for her to choose. And the other times they picked one out of his hand was a simple force. If he has marked cards he just manipulated the cards to a force position.
@@BrokeTheSeal There was no force position with the last card. And yes, he can always swap the cards in his hand or all cards on the table but that is what my comment has been all about: I don't see how or when he performs the swaps and your comment doesn't explain that either.
@@xcoder1122 I said he has multiple Queens in the deck and arranged a bunch of Queens in the pile close to the spectator he chose so no matter what cards she chose, it would be a Queen. He never shows all the cards..
I saw David Copperfield in Branson Missouri about 25 years ago... The greatest magician and greatest show I've ever seen in my life! One was disappearing from an enclosure extended out over the audience on an aluminum beam; good tickets so it was behind my wife and I; I'll never have any idea how he disappeared from it; that's just one...
Thanks for showing me that. I know nothing but you can just this man is totally in control, but simulating totally chaos and ineptitude. And the crisps and kitkat just knock you sideways Genius and a deserving winner.
that just blew my mind so hard! been doing magic for almost 20 years too and this got me sooo good havent felt like this in a very long long time! just wow! i was having the same reactions as you during the video!! i think this is a game changer and an inspiration for all of us!! cheers mate! great video!
I was thinking of Lennart Green too. It really is just crazy to have control of a messy chaos of cards. How he got his volunteer to “ pick” the card….no idea. Sure he had control somehow… very entertaining
I had a suggestion, but because I know nothing of the magic world, you would tell me if it is possible. Is it possible that he wears sort of lenses that can discriminate a type of writing on the back of the cards (polarized ink, with polarized lenses ) ? He is looking at the cards very intensively before each trick... It could explain why he can pick each time the right ones (for example for the royal flush) For the "5" of course he forced this number because when he started to ask when to stop he was already at 2 or 3 and he knew the time the 2 guests would react, it would be reaching his 5th and last finger.. When shuffling just before, you can see that he rearranged card so the queens are at the 5th place, except for the last one... to get the other trick to work. Nonetheless... he is spectacular, has a enormous talent and a real hand agility !
when he was on Penn and Teller, they didn't even try to figure it out, the just gave him the trophy. they laughing so hard and so blown away by his style.
He forced the card at the beginning and scribbles over the signature for a reason for the final reveal at the end. The way he holds up his fingers he forced the number 5 position. He placed 3 of the Queens in the fifth position in 3 of the piles. When he stood up he did a deck switch. In that 'marked' deck, most of the cards are the queen with his scribble on it. It didn't matter what card she picked as all the face down cards were the same. ☺
What a performance! Just as you said, it was pure chaos! Or so we thought 😏 brilliant act, thanks for sharing, I'm sure we all had the same reaction as you... I certainly did!
Good trick. It is one of those that you can fairly easily tell/guess exactly how it is done, but the execution is still super slick even if you know what you're looking for.
The only thing I figured out (on first viewing) was the first "choice" by the volunteer @2:45. She said "stop" and THEN he quickly took a queen from the deck so that she would be forced to use that card. Even so, I'm not sure how he had the queen so handy. It may have looked like she chose the card, but he actually did. I believe that's called a "force."

I wonder if Jason Ladanye can follow that. He's pretty insane with card tracking. I saw a card magician (don't remember who) that was talking about ways to direct a random person to point at a certain card, like starting moving their finger/counting and then telling the person to tell them when to stop.
