- Hello!! This is my manga collection as of March 2021. I’ve been collecting manga for about six years now and it’s one of my favorite hobbies :-)

People would think I’m a guy who says “nah bruh I ain’t watching no chick flick” but my heart melts for romance stores
I got to say most guys are like that, its just in general (regardless if you consider nature and/or nurture the premier causes or not) guys prefer to have some more violence/politics/history in their romance narratives. So for instance me and my dad love Outlander, but my mum can't stand the violent aspects. Of course if you stroll around the internet for a hot minute you will find a multitude of counter-examples to this generalisation, which is fantastic, but in my personal irl life I have found a general spectrum in romantic stories where if you add in more and more bellicosity more and more lads and less lasses will like it. In short everyone likes romance and sexaulity - besides maybe asexuals/aromantics.
@@nicholasdalli6303 I mean I guess but even if guys to like romance stories most of theme hide it because most parents come from a generation where the male has to be the “Tough Man” figure. Then there parents raise theme to think with that mind set. You get what I’m saying ?
@@exzertanime7156 Oh yeah i totally get that - only in the most recent generation have i seen a break in the strict dichotomy of traditional mascualinity/feminity being publically appreciated by those of the other gender than was the norm. Social construction (and deconstruction) for the win as the premier explanation - but I can't help but feel that due to innate hormonal-psychological reasons there may be the general male-female interest split. Of course the diversity and distribution of such innate factors even beyond the male-female sexes (so that we get the roster of trans- and inter-sexuality, ect..) must play a factor.

Just a heads up, and you can look into it more yourself, but the rumors you've heard about the author of Attack on Titan are unfounded. While I do believe Isayama has stated the character Pixis is based off an Imperial Japanese general, the twitter account associated with the xenophobic stuff was never confirmed to be Isayama's. Considering the themes of Attack on Titan, Isayama is definitely not a xenophobe or a nationalist. I don't mean to spoil the story, but the whole point of the manga is that discrimination (racism, nationalism, etc.) is a vicious cycle predicated on bullshit. It's a critique of Japan's Imperial history and lingering xenophobia, while also an argument for modern Japan's innocence, "the son should not bear the sins of the father" type of thinking. It's definitely complicated and rooted in a heavy subject matter, but it's not nationalist. Nationalism is explicitly vilified in the story.
The Author for Attack on Titan is not bad or anything, but some fans make him look bad because he kinda like kills off all out our favorite characters (( but the series is amazing and it's ending this week btw. Next year is the last season coming out. Also love ur Manga collection, I want to have that many Manga volumes one day..
i would recomend berserk. the story is mostly character driven and contains alot of deep themes and has amazing artwork and writing

I really want to get my hands on a Go For it Nakamura volume
I'm really looking forward to trying The Girl From the Other Side. I haven't read any of it yet, I have a few volumes but I'm still missing 1 and 2, so I have to wait until I find those. I looked up the author Nagabe after reading 'Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms' which is a one-shot book of I think 8 short stories. It was so good, I left that book wishing there was a whole series for each of the individual stories, and then found out he had an ongoing story so just jumped into collecting it sight unseen.

I definitely recommend the manga dorohedoro it’s about a world with sorcerers and humans and they don’t get along and the main character gets turned into a lizard man by a sorcerer so him and his best friend try to figure out who does it so they can turn him back. There’s also an anime but it doesn’t cover the whole thing it’s on Netflix.

I recommend Fruits Basket, The Way of the Househusband, and Wotakoi: Love is hard for otakus!! Three great series for sure.
yeah, i highly recommend Banana Fish! you should read it. it's sad and emotional but it was worth the read!

Hi! I bought the series at Barnes and Noble a couple of years ago when it was still serializing. You can find Volume 2 on websites like Right Stuf or ThriftBooks but I can only find Volume 1 on Amazon.

I had the same thoughts on how Tokyo Ghoul RE seemed somewhat unimportant since Tokyo Ghoul ended on a pretty great note but I picked it up and I will say it's not as good as its prequel but it's pretty great ( I'm only on volume ten so I'm not quite sure about the ending as I haven't reached that point yet lol.) If you pick it up I'd love to watch you review it!! Thank you!

I read re digitally but def plan to collect it physically eventually. I felt like it added a lot to the characters and overall had a good ending.

i love comments like this where people commentate as they watch hehe, it's fun to hear your opinion on stuff
I've heard from reviews of love me for who I am that the rep is really good? Like it talks about internal feelings of the pressure to perform their gender identity in a way that is palatable and expected of them to cis people like having to 'be androgynous enough' and how other people can try and police our gender expression in order to give us their approval in order to take us seriously and stuff like that.
But the main character works through that along with never wavering with trying to be who they know they are.
This is second hand of course, so look up reviews of it on goodreads.
And as for the author I haven't heard of any of that stuff before now and I really want to get into the series so I'm gonna have to do some more digging to see if there is any evidence, or if it's just rumours, or something was misunderstood or taken out of context, we'll see.
I'm very picky with my representation, and this does sound legit so fingers crossed. We've needed something like this for a long time. And I'm going to find out if this is the real deal for myself. Like the jaded, sceptical queer I am.

idk who told you that banana fish is a shojo, but trust me it's not. it's shounen ai, the only romances are hinted and actually it's very action-death-mafia-crime-pain type of thing. it's really, really really good.
Nope banana fish is definitely a shoujo series, it was published in a shoujo magazine. shoujo is a demographic, it doesn't mean "straight romance". Shoujo means girl, so manga for girls and not all shoujo manga are romances. However yes, definitely hinted mlm romance in the series.

I haven't read the entire manga series but I have read up to volume 10 and it's amazing! I think it's worth it to buy since it's a great manga and is pretty cheap (at least from where I get my manga)
