Thanks for the video! 🙏🏼 My guitar’s battery went out right in the middle of a song at Open Mic last night.. LOL. Didn’t know my new-ish acoustic needed batteries.. 😊
Eureka moment, reaching far into the sound hole all the way to the back by the jack, was the Velcro battery, Clearly it had slipped to backand required a long thin arm with wing span fingers to find it. Replaced and Repositioned.

I cant get the battery case on the side of my guitar open. Is there a trick to making it open. I have tried everything except forcing it open. My guitar has fishman just like the one you are using in the video. It looked rather simple when you opened but I cant get mine open. I don't know what to do.
Just bought the SC13E WITH THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT NEAR THE STRAP BUTTON,HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THE PLASTIC BIT JUST DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE FEEL LIKE IT WILL SNAP WITH ANYMORE PRESSURE APPLIED MAYBE THERES A PROBLEM WITH THIS SYSTEM.
Unfortunately your examples didn't cover my Baby Martin LX1E...my compartment is stuck and before I force it..wanted to know how it's supposed to open?
How long can the battery life last approximately in Fishman Presys II and Fishman Sonitone practicing with the preamp connected, about 2 hours a week, and leaving everything disconnected when finished?
Hello friends. The battery box lid of my Martin dcpa4 is loose and is no longer holding the battery straight. Could anyone give me a link where I could I buy one like it? thanks
JUST BOUGHT THE MARTIN SC13E. Having a problem opening the battery compartment. Looks identical to the first guitar demonstrated feels like it will snap if any more pressure added, maybe there is a problem with this system.
I have an electric-acoustic guitar, and the battery in it cause certain notes in the guitar to buzz. When I take the battery out, no buzz. Do I have to get a certain battery, could it just be the guitar? I have a Fender FA-135CE
i recently changed abttery but now the pickup light does not come onto power!!! Help please...Great video by the way...good and well and crystal clear.
I got a semi acoustic guitar from my sister and when i wanted to use it i had to replace the battery. Now the thing is that something fell off. It looks like a battery. It's a rod (red) with on one side a metal blade-ish end that is probrally supposed to be connected to the system. I can't figure out where. I have a 4 bar amp on the side with a hole in the guitar. I had to take out the system to put the battery in. I listened to my guitar but it's way too soft. I bet the extra battery was to amp the sound. How do i figure out where to connect "rod".
I changed the battery when the guitar ceased producing sound through the amp. Following the internal diagram for +/- I inserted a new battery. I did not get any sound from the amp, amp checked out fine on another guitar, so removed the battery I had just replaced. It was extremely hot. I thought I may have put the battery in backwards, so inserted another new battery according to the diagram. No sound and again hot. It used to work just fine and the old battery that was working was not hot when it quit. Any ideas? I will try the battery backwards if it is advised, but I don’t want to burn it up. Before I do that, I’d like to know, would you do?
Am wanting to use a rechargeable 9v on my Tanglewood Discovery. Can't find any recommendations for Amp rating etc online. Any advice would be very appreciated.
A question, i have a Martin D35. Whats the best place for the battery pack inside the guitar? On the heel block I don't like...because there's the serial number and type guitar.... You know! But.....are there any other good place for the battery pack??
I have an OM28ce that I play professionally. Not a huge fan of the battery placement. ( like the 1st one in video). The plug hole is different to find when standing and once plugged in the cord hits the strap. I expected more R and D from Martin. $5000 guitar right? I own three martins. I prefer the input through the strap pin, less risk of dropping your guitar as well. Latest and greatest pick up system I find a little finicky. Plus an onboard tuner would be very useful. But, Martin fan here no matter what. Just my 2 bits. Cheers!
I recently bought a Martin D28: no electronics. I love the guitar but I feel like I made a mistake not buying one with the Fishman pickup system. So, if I want to put a pickup in, what do you, or Martin, recommend? Thanks. kg
Hey. Need your advice. I've got an Epi Hummingbird acoustic/electric with a fishman preamp. Last time I plugged in, probably months ago, it was fine. But now the low E string is crazy loud, while the D and G strings are barely audible. What's going on? I just put in a fresh battery, but no difference. I put a tiny sliver of paper under the treble end of the bridge with a tiny bit of Elmer's glue yesterday to solve the high e string cutting out on bends. Could that tiny bit of paper or glue be the issue? I'm trying to sell the guitar, but I need this issue fixed first.
I bought a guitar online and the battery was moving freely inside, attached to the cable. But the cable was not attached to the guitar, I'm looking for a way to fix this
I fixed it. I'm doing without the rod. I mistakenly kept my headphone plugs in my amp so the sound was way too soft. When i took them out the sound is good.
I have a Epiphone J-200EC Studio Acoustic-Electric with Fishman presys. My battery keeps going dead after a very little time say a week. I have tried making sure that the unit is in the off position as best as I can tell but the battery stills drains. Does anybody else have this problem. Also does the volume have to be totally off to stop the drain?
I hope this helps everyone..... I have a 12 string with battery Velcroed inside I read some where that if you put a capo on the first fret, losen the strings then take out the pins you can get to the battery that way then just reinsert the pins and tune up as normal. Be careful not to scratch your guitar with all the strings going everywhere.
Fishman built in amps suck, I have a Fishman amp/tuner (the second model) built into my acoustic electric and the 9-Volt battery dies out so quickly, even after I take out the battery after being taken out then put back in after I wanted to use the amp again.

It powers the pre-amp in your guitar which is basically where the signal from the pickup is processed, maybe passed through an EQ and then sent to the output to your amp or DI or whatever.
The battery powers the pickup, which transmits the sound out to the amplifier. Maybe you’re used to the concept of passive pickups which are used in most electric guitars, but acoustic guitars are amplified with a different technology that requires power from a 9v.
I don't really get why Martin takes fishman's side and just install fishman products in their factory, L.R. Baggs does a lot more to maintain the true sound of the guitar with microphonic elements all over their though really diffrent pickups, the Baggs Lyric is stunning and would offer an authentic martin tone on stage more than the fake and anyway piezo sounding aura system
Thankyou so much...

This helped, thanks! Turns out my battery was already in the guitar, it just had a plastic cover around it. Used it with Rocksmith and works great.

Super helpful! Reached into my Martin 000RS1 and the battery was there in a Velcro bag just like you said!
I have Martin e 1 electronics. I wanted to confirm that the battery polarity doesn’t matter and that it will work either way? Thanks for sharing.
Eureka moment, reaching far into the sound hole all the way to the back by the jack, was the Velcro battery, Clearly it had slipped to backand required a long thin arm with wing span fingers to find it. Replaced and Repositioned.
When testing a 9 V battery a new battery should be 9.4 volt or thereabouts And a dead battery will be around 8.5 volt

Is there anyway to bypass the fishman preamp's electonics. So it won't need batteries? If so, how does it sounds?
Do you need batteries for it to work on an amp?
yes

Anyone know where I can find a battery cap for the 9 volt?
I’m here just trying to find It! Didi you found?
Does the battery type have to be specific for the electric acoustic guitar I have or whould any battery do?
Most electro-acoustic guitars will require any brand of standard square 9v battery.

If your pickup is under the bridge saddle changing strings can sometimes make it move around a little bit.
