It's a variation of Henry Mancini's theme song for the 1958-60 NBC (and later ABC, 1960-61) television series "Peter Gunn," which featured Craig Stevens as the eponymous detective.
When the impala was redesigned for 2014, GM continued to make the W Body impala until 2016, known as the impala limited, the demand from fleet and rental company's is why the limited trim was still produced until around may of 2016.
I like this body style better last of the mean stance body style..new ones look like crap interiors are cramped.chevy should have also kept the Monte Carlo name and got rid of the malibu name.
Love the car, hate working on it. Why in the world did y'all make it sooooooo hard changing the battery, thermostat, shoot basically doing anything under the hood except an oil change? Yeah and those 2 metal bars right in front of the intake manifold and spark plugs that goes all around... Genius idea.... NOT! 😒
Were meant for crash protection but honestly man hate em lol! Love the cars but everything is tight to work on. Often do maintenance on my 2011 from time to Time and its a pain to work on some of this stuff. Other than that my 2011 impala kicks ass. This is one of those cars that a niche group of people truly appreciate. Have no plans on getting rid of it. Shit today is full of complex electronics and lots of recalls.
knightrider1545 We did it because there was a demand for a performance sedan. The 06 Impala SS was faster than a 1991 Corvette in 0-60 mph and top speed!!!!
The 2012-13 model years introduced the 3.6 V6. Currently used on the Tenth gen models. Replaced the 3.5 V6 rated at 213 Horses last used on the 2011 model. Lots of SS Guys and 2012/13 LT LTZ Guys try to race each other to see which motor is superior. While the V8 carries more torque the 3.6L V6 carries almost the same amount of HP but comes with much more efficiency and updated VVT technology
The Chevrolet Impala was one of the worst-selling vehicles of 2018. It was also the second-worst-selling Chevrolet that year behind the Express. The last Impala built at the Hamatrack plant rolled off the assembly line there on February 27, 2020, ending the vehicle’s 63-year run.
love the sound the LT trim engine does when you turn the key...so dang smooth.
If anyone is curious what the song is, it's Peter Gunn (Max Sedgley Remix) by Sarah Vaughan
really? Sarah Vaughan?- is there any way i can a link to this one song? i happen to like it quite a bit.
I “LIKE” my 06 Impala SS but it’s always in the shop, power makes it up. Beat an STI on a 60 mph roll on the highway
It's been a while since this comment, but I'm curious to what you feel is the biggest weakness in terms of reliability?
Transmission??
Did you buy the car from somebody that rode the hell out of it?
2006 Impala base price = $21,990, LTZ = $27,530, SS = $29,160
2019 dollars, respectively =
$28,522.46
$35,708.20
$37,822.42
Impala pricing lore
Its generation knew every track in NASCAR where the Sprint cup races in fields of honor.

We are in a Chevy Impala nostalgic commercial, so why they anti-cop comment?
can you believe that the 2016 impala limited still had this same look....after ten(10)friggin years..ugh..
Yes... Yes I can.

TENGO UNO 2007 MI PREFERIDO
Hi
What is the song used in these commercials??
It's a whole new animal
I'm goin byyyyyye bye
28 mpg......???? Hmmmm
Lol
Well the new impala has a 305 hp v6 so a v8 is so outdated.
There's more to a car than HP. The torque alone in the v8 will kill the v6 any day. Why they would put it in a FWD car, I have no idea.
Jessica Rose cause the generation before last had a v8

@@fbodmother Just curious, you said "we". Were you a part of the design team for this generation Impala? Maybe worked at the factory that made them?
