The first time I heard Giving Him Something He Can Feel made me blush and shot waves through me! I swear to God as I’m writing this, that song did something to the little kid in me! I wasn’t even a teenager yet! But Jesus, she sang that song in a way that grew me up inside! Aretha Franklins voice, phrasing, soul stirring arrangements and emotions ran me wild!! I would sneak and listen to that song bc it was so deep! I also felt that maybe, as a young kid, it was a song that I shouldn’t be hearing. The first time I heard Giving Him Something He Can Feel made me blush and shot waves through me! I swear to God as I’m writing this, that song did something to the little kid in me! I wasn’t even a teenager yet! But Jesus, she sang that song in a way that grew me up inside! Aretha Franklins voice, phrasing, soul stirring arrangements and emotions ran me wild!! I would sneak and listen to that song bc it was so deep! I also felt that maybe, as a young kid, it was a song that I shouldn’t be hearing. Well I’m fully grown now and the song still moves me as it did then! Aretha is pure genius. I will forever miss her magic. 🙏🏽♥️

The clarity in all her songs are just unbelievable. I stumbled upon a recording of hers at about age 19 or sooner and boy oh my goodness she sounded so fresh and crisp I was just blown away. Someone else evidently felt the same, because the tape disappeared.
I'm a 19 year old female and I remember the first time I heard a song by Ms. Franklin I was only four years old running around the house sings "just a little" (respect). I appreciate her music because I can actually relate to some of her songs and let's be honest these are classics Aretha only produces gold and they all sound great!
