Closest thing when I was a teen girl was ANTM (with the craziness it entailed). Younger kids are so lucky they get this type of story, and with neurodiverse creators and actors behind it...
Holly, you wrote not only your story, but uncountable model-geek girls untold stories. Lot of these girls cannot do it for too long, because fact-lovers just unable to make compromissum with a fake world and earlier or later these carriers end up in self-sabotage. Emily natural beauty couldn't be emphasized with make up, I think the make up artists were a bit amateur in the film. The best actor was the African guy (reminded me for an actor in the Fifth Element). Emily was perfect for the role, because she didn't had this perfect body control, snobism and fakeness in her which is casually happens in fashion industry. Exactly that little dyspraxia which makes her so relatable for many. PS: I think the word "nerd" would be more accurate
Every actor in this series was brilliant. Best thing I have seen for a while.
The chokehold these books had me on when I was younger... The series were heartwarming
