Nice video 7 generations of my family have been born and raised in Palatka. I did giggle at the corkybells pond/lake as it is the St. John's river. Thanks for showing how awesome our little town is.

Palatka is so small but full of so much love for each other and adventure and it’s close to a lot like St Augustine is like 45 minutes away and many more people judge it a lot but you really can’t Judge a book by it’s cover❤️

We went there the first time because we were going to visit St. Augustine but the hotel was cheaper in Palatka, and we enjoyed it so much that we went back at the time of this video. We’ll probably go back again, too. Our video-making/editing skills have improved at least somewhat since this video and we could probably make a better video now.

We also have the Blue crab festival which has been postponed due to virus but alot of people attend, the East palatka fair in March, many Bass tournaments, some are televised.. Palatka has a new boat that occasionally takes people out on the river (usually during festivals.. and the St. John's center near the clocktower.. and I agree with Corky Bells.. the best shrimp in town.. in May we have sailboat races and during peak season the river front has many out shrimping off the docks.. periodically a cruise ship will dock at the public boat ramp..

Palatka is such a neat little town. It’s too bad that Ravine Gardens was partially closed during this visit. Next time we visit, I want to visit the Bronson Mulholland House.

We didn’t get to eat there during this trip. We were only around for one evening and ate a Corky Bells, but were delighted to discover the diner. We did include it in the video, but didn’t actually go in to eat.

The Rolle Family owned the Charlotte’s Rollestown Plantation there in the past. My family members were slaves on Deny Rolle’s plantation. When the plantation failed he transported his slaves to Exuma Bahamas. Sure, wish there were murals of Palatka’s historical slave plantation past. Amazing how minorities are written out of Florida’s history. It’s actually disgraceful.

We're past that now. Those types of things create bad memories and angst. Should it be in history books, sure, but in the city, we like to look at the brighter side of things.
