    I have 2 of these. I sent one off to a guy I met online who did a din/sync mod to his and paid him to do one for me. It worked superbly and I still have it.

      what's the dude's details please, thanks ever so much! as the biggest drawback of 110 is that it hardly syncs to anything but the old Roland gear via the accent trig

    Excellent tutorial guy. Thanks! I'm probably going to have a go at the bass drum capacitor mod. 🥸👍🏼

    I had this one in early 80's. I'm japanese and we could get japanese brands items earlyer than other countries. I just remind that with "accent" function, every sounds hears better and solid. I abandoned it when my all music turned with MIDI system. Thank you for the video. BTW, they sounds like 808 and 606, nothing like 909.

    Awww, this was my first drum machine. Bought it at a pawn shop in Chicago in 1990

    i just picked one up and this video helped heaps thanks! im going to do this same kick and think about getting midi retro fit pcb off ebay for like 40bucks.
    one thing i noticed was that unless you exit step write mode or tap mode and play the pattern in Play > Songmode - it will not save the song upon a reboot.

    Nice video and a useful mod but you should mention tr606 for its similar sounds rather than 909 or 808

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know it is technically more similar to a 606, but who wants a 606 when you can have this beauy? The adjusted bass drum does sound more like a 808. You need to mod a 606 to get to the same sound as well.

      The box is a little tatty, not totally MIB, but it looks pretty new. I've seen a couple with screen rot, so it is nice to have it as nice as it is. I do have some other music gear mint in box like a MMT8, a PSS-50 and a RX11, I really need more time to make videos.

      Use a better brick? Make sure there is no ground loop?

    Great, thanks !
    Do you know if there is a way to determinate a specific speed for the beat? (60, 88, etc.)

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, one of the complicated things is it does not take a trigger pulse, but it does offer one to other devices. Maybe use a phone app to determine.

    •  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@2kBofFun Ok, I understand, thanks a lot. I'll try to find an app... just I'm not very good with this kind of things 😅

    Hello! Could you confirm if you can access to edit banks C and D in pattern mode, because in mine it only goes from A -> B, A -> B. I ask why in pattern play if it lets me listen to all 4 and I doubt if they will be presets

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should check that, but if I remember correctly, not all banks are programmable. Some are presets only.

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could try it. I like to leave the housing unmodified, so you could put it in the battery compartment.

    The bass Sound I could live with. The cymbal sound . Second from the right.is the one I don’t like very much. I wonder if there’s a way to mod that to make it more tight less loud.

    Hi there is the clap something that be programmed in via the Step Sequencer?

    • @BendApparatus
      @BendApparatus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.

    • @nyrbsamoht
      @nyrbsamoht 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      on the display you can see C.HH, O.HH, SD, and BD have their own row on the sequencer.
      and then on the last row of the sequencer is shared by AC(accent), CY (cymbal) and hCP clap
      you must be in step write mode to select between them in the sequencer

    Thanks for the video. These little machines are a ton of fun and they're still reasonably affordable and available 2nd hand. I wouldn't pay more than 100 Euro though.
    BTW: is it easy to correct or edit a mistake?

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could upload again, there's not many inbound links yet. Unfortunately TH-cam doesn't allow replacement of video's like Vimeo does. I paid 125€ for the boxed, and 35 for the other that "was broken", but works perfectly now.

      @@2kBofFun I meant: is it easy to correct a mistake on the Boss DR-110. :-)

    • @2kBofFun
      @2kBofFun  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@meneerjansen00 During tap write you can hold erase, but that does trigger a hit on first press, and in step write it means you have to navigate smartly to the error: easiest is to go on an empty instrument, say cymbal, to the correct spot, and then change intrument to enter the new desired value: hit or space.

    My shift button doesn't seem to be working anymore, so I can't edit anything. Do you think it's fixable? I've opened it up and cleaned it ... still nothing :(

      @@2kBofFun yes indeed, completely disassembled. Also, when I do the diagnostic test (holding START & STOP at power on and pressing all the pads) I don't get the big "OK."

      Check the trace right under the battery terminal ends which has a bit of foam over it. Mine had corrosion on the eyeletes so a jumper wire was needed.
