@@ECPP hmm thats all subjective I guess… first, I LOVE your channel… Camrys are great cars.. however IMO the new IS models are sexy as hell. And well the LC - I think is the most beautiful car on the road right now. Even the ES loOks better now. Lexus shame comes when they canceled the GS. Lastly Lexus seems to hold their value like the titanic does water

I question the depreciation figures in this skewed market for used cars. A year ago there were cases where used cars were selling for more than their new equivalent.

Yes when especially looking at 1-2 year old late model cars sometimes there were upticks as those were the hot buys but by the time 5 years rolls on, most of that temporary phenomenon has moved on.

We normally buy a 2 year lease return vehicle and drive them for many years.
Last November (2021) I bought my wife a 2019 Outback lease return. It only had 5,600 miles. Her Camry was 18 years old.
On 12/22 I needed to replace my 12 year old Rav 4WD Limited.
I started shopping around and found a 2019 Certified Subaru Forester Touring with only 4,700 miles.
Both cars booked out for $38K each. I bought my wife’s Outback (for her 50th birthday) for $33K.
We paid $32K for my Forester.
We HATE the 1990 Gloomy Grey or Boring Black interior colors, so the Outback I found has warm Ivory interior. My Forester has Saddle Brown interior.
It pays to shop around for the vehicle you want.
We had to drive to Tacoma (2 1/2 hours away) for the Outback.
We had to drive to Shoreline WA (3 hours drive) to get the Forester.
I drive about 5K miles a year (as I retired early) and my wife carpool’s so she only has to commute 2 weeks each month (and RNs work 3 days a week).
We also own a 12 year old 4X4 pickup that has only 35K miles.

Now, I have a 2nd gen Tundra with 32000 kms and has appreciated in value from 51 000 new to about 59 900. I saw the same truck I have on AUTOTRADER with slightly higher mileage and asking price was 59 900. I love the power of the 5.7 V8. I drive it to spite Trudeau.
