I'm in Asia, and I can certainly see dairy being pushed down our throats more than ever. Truly absurd when most of us can't even tolerate dairy. Bravo! I love Dr. Barnard - dude's an absolute legend, and he's not just a plant based lifestyle medicine doc who saves lives by reversing diabetes and heart disease. He's an actual vegan, speaking up about animal rights and animal cruelty. Anyone who follows the vegan activist space is probably aware of PCRM's work in exposing Neuralink's cruel monkey experiments, for example. Also, Dr. B is a literal rockstar (got his own band - Carbonworks), he's fluent in French and he knows precisely which animal abusing industry segment to sue for misinformation. I suspect he's actually Batman. Thank you for your excellent work interviewing him, Marielle. May I suggest another vegan legend, Dr. Michael Greger, as a future interviewee. My comment is criticism and not meant as mean or nasty. Consuming anything while onscreen in an interview is so often seen as rude. People serving and stopping to have a drink is outta line. This behaviour has to stop. I never seen Kim Iverson have to slurp on or consume anything while interviewing a guest. So many of my gen straight away switch off when we find certain behaviour wrong or unacceptable. Ppl can argue and abuse my stand but losing viewer’s by doing something that is a bad habit is counterproductive. Just saying.

@@gonget Your comment can be both critical and ill meant, and seems to be. Many, many people find it rude when their interlocutor has such a dry mouth that they slur or spit visibly on camera, and discreetly having a sip of something to maintain moisture in the mouth when speaking on camera is perfectly acceptable and normal for interviews. If you are going to leave over something this trivial, I must say I wonder about your appreciation for this creator or channel, and, having checked your barely existing channel and your favorited videos, I wonder whether you have ever been here before.

@TotallyForkable ooooh have you checked out Dr Peter Rogers MD? He talks about how oil sticks the red blood cells together in a rouleaux formation (like a stack of coins) which causes them to have to bend and squash to get through arteries.
This raises blood pressure and damages artery walls with retrograde flow at the artery joints where the pressure is too great, and the force of larger than normal blood cells hitting artery walls at higher than normal speeds causes an auto immune response because the artery walls detect damage, they form clots to repair the damage. (Which is called Atherosclerosis which is the cause of coronary heart disease).
He obviously explains better than me, but the science is ridiculously easy to understand through Dr Rogers MD.
Thats only one of hundreds of horrible things oil does to us. I didn't want to accept it either but anyone with half a brain can understand it if they look at how it works.
I'd be interested to hear a reaction video to Dr Peter Rogers MD on some of his videos, he's an extraordinary person. 😍💚

@@TotallyForkable Thank you for your reply Marielle. I'm afraid that being vegan in North America means a lifetime of having to diligently read food labels. Here in Canada, by law the products have to state whether they contain milk , soy, wheat, tree nuts, etc. Unfortunately, the infamous ones like 'milk solids' or the nasty 'gelatin' can be snuck into the ingredients list more or less undetected without the warning statement.

I find oil to be completely unnecessary in most recipes. I don't use it in dressings, stir fries, hummus and desserts. The only time a bit of oil can be useful is to roast veggies to a crisp in the oven, and even then, there are often other ways of doing this. This doesn't mean I eat fat-free by any means, but I rarely use oil. I even had vegan butter go bad in my fridge.

    • @TotallyForkable

I think if if I made a bigger effort I could avoid it more; it's just such a part of so many things I make (crispy tofu brushed with sesame oil before air frying, broccoli rabe sautéed with garlic and olive oil, oil/butter on my popcorn, Vegenaise, etc). I guess I have a hard time accepting how it would make my health better given I'm not trying to lose weight, but the stuff he said about hormones did get me thinking.
