The first concert I ever went to was New Edition with the Fat Boys opening. It was a "teen concert." Me and my friends got dropped off at the venue by one of the parents and I think it was over by 8PM. I was a huge New Edition fan back then and their back up singer Micheal Bivens (not Bobby Brown) was my dude. I liked him the best because he just hung out in back and did his thing. Kinda like me IRL. Tenderoni is one of my favorite jams from the 80s.

You're very eclectic. I think it's rare for people in our ethnic group. I was the same way long ago. I would go from Prince to Rush to Sade to Motley Crue to Loose Ends to Bananarama to LLCoolJ to Swing-Out-Sister to Beethoven to Alabama and back to, say, Eric B & Rakim and so on. I kept this up to about the mid 90s. Keep doing what you're doing.
You listen to all those artists? I thought I was the only one. I'm happy to see our own race listen to all styles of music at any age. Some may have listen to one or two styles of music but they are more open to other styles of music. And others, like you and myself, have been listening to everything our own entire life. When I saw this comment, I had to say something because, as a 37 year old struggling universal black rock musician in Pittsburgh, it makes me happy to know that I'm not the only one who is very eclectic when it comes to music.

I was in the 6th!! Oh weren’t those the freaking days?! Skating rink slow skate to Bobby B! And so many other genres! All were pretty damn awesome back in the day! We were lucky- GenX! School dances/ laying out by the pools in the summer with our boom 💥 boxes blaring tracks as loud as possible! Oh I miss the #GoodOleDays ! Take care! ✌🏻
