Morning Mr TAYM. I really do like Buddy, and if I ever come into some money, I would certainly be keen to buy one. When we met up at the Super Sausage, I followed you on the little ride, and he sounded marvellous. A proper “British Twin” sound (and before I get shot down, I have owned a couple), especially under load, coming off the roundabouts……..made me smile. Cheers
I was born in 1958 and the Triumph Bonneville was born in 1959. The Triumph Bonneville is without any doubt the most Iconic beautiful motorcycle ever made. It is the King of Cool 😎 I love my Honda cb500s black ⚫️ it's the most reliable motorcycle in the world but it's not a Triumph Bonneville. Lovely bike Tyam. Be a good boy and put a mud flap on that front mudguard. He'll still look cool with the mud flap and it'll stop all that dirt from ruining the Radiator.
The T100 is indeed a perfect bike . If I could only have one bike for the rest of my life I'd be more than happy with one.😊 it's a bit like coming home after a flashy hoilday ...
"It makes me feel happy.". You comment is perfectly understandable and speaks volumes. I do not have a motorbike but this Triumph is what I would want if I were to acquire one. Thank you and a Happy New Year, sir!
Nice one TAYM, love my Street twin Bonneville, it does everything I need without fuss, I replaced the tyres with Avon's and upgraded the very basic Triumph fork springs with a pair from TEC and it's made a huge difference......
Morning Taym, as you know I love my W800, but if I ever changed it, I think the T100 would be the bike I'd buy. It's all the bike I would ever need. Happy New Year to you and Mrs Taym.
Good morning TAYM. The Goldline T100 is indeed a super bike. Mine has just turned a year old and I love it. Like yours, mines a bit dirty but I ride through the winter as long as frost and snow stay away from. Need to give her another clean and cover everything in a protective coat, especially those spokes😅. Have a great New Year.! TG
I want to say a great full thanks for your thorough detailed comments in the previous videos of the pros and cons of T120 and T100. Your comparison of both bikes helped me in my decision to go with anew T 100. Gold line in September I just love the bike especially 5 speed rather than 6 To any one else deliberating T10 v T100 I would argue less is more from the rideability point of view. I fitted cruise control to answer the motorway distance question Overall it feels a much lighter bike when riding and agile at low speed absolutely marvellous ! all the best to you and Mrs Taym 🏍️🏍️
Great video TAYM. As a reborn biker I bought a V7 Stone in March, loved the looks but after a few months I could not settle with the vibrations so changed it for a new T100 Chrome. Marvellous bike! So refined, good to look at and I love it.
I've got a street twin and love it , build quality , sound and I think enough power but I do like the T100 , it's more classic looking and the gold line version is lovely . Thankyou .
I used to only want big power at one time, now 60 to 75 bhp is my sweet spot as long as its a twin with decent torque. Great weather for my Boxing day rideout this year, nice 10c degree temp, no wind and bone dry roads.
Bonneville the best motorcycle in the world regardless of whether you choose the T100 or T120 I'm biased to the T120 but that's just personal choice. Buddy is a stunning looking bike I do like the Gold Line editions. I know people get all twisted if you say anything about Triumph over Royal Enfield and it doesn't take anything away from the Enfield it is a great bike and at a fabulous price but there is no question that the Triumph is just a step further on in every respect but you do have to pay for it. In other news I did manage to get out on a bike for a bit yesterday and I've just uploaded my first "proper" video to TH-cam and fair play to you TAYM it is a lot harder than it looks to get right but I'll keep having a go and any tips will be gratefully received lol
Hope you had a good Christmas - I wonder if Mrs Taym put a 'Libertatia' ( pretentious? Moi?)tool bag in in your stocking? I think he should have called it - 'Dobbs, The Tool....bag'.
Having owened T120 a few years like you found throtle responce abit snatchy .but allways regret selling the beast😗now along with tiger 850 a used T100 sits in the garage. Triumph has got it spot on perfect🤓
As good as buddy is I’d have the Moto Guzzi v7 850 special why I hear you ask well looks, sound, quality and price all better then the triumph with the added bonus of a shaft drive 😉 have a great new year TAYM 👍🏻
A very mucky Buddy TAYM I have to say I keep coming back to these Triumphs T100 and 120 in my searches for this coming year and talking of basic suspension how often do you or anyone else really tinker with their suspension ? for me I have never really messed with it on any of my previous bikes I have contemplated getting it done on my current one but have never gotten around to it . I have had a few off's but I don't think suspension was ever the cause 😂.Horsepower I find my current bike at about 95bhp plenty fast enough for me in fact probably much more than I need these days , I think that less than say 45 bhp is a little low only because of the cars around you these days have more power so I feel you always need that bit more to escape them imo 😉 Less than say 45 is fine for the lanes of course and I know a whole lot of folks do great tours on less than 45bhp it's only my opinion after all . Oh dear to much again note to self it's a comment not a book 😂.
Lovely bike but then I have one the same! BUT bloody puncture in the back tyre.....trying to find a dry day to go and get it sorted (its a slow one). Best to you and Mrs T - take care 🙂
Hi mr Taym. I do enjoy your videos. I am interested in a T100 or MG v7. I have watched the v7 also. Question to you sir is how can i repair a flat with tubed tire? can you insert a sealer through the valve? A tubeless i can pop a plug in to get me home. As you know the v7 stone special have wonderful clocks and spoked wheels and they would be my first choice. The T100 is right there as well since i have a dealership 10 miles away.
I think you've hit the nail on the head here Mr TAYM when you said " It makes me feel special that I'm riding a Triumph ". It's exactly the way I feel too when I'm on a Triumph or a Guzzi . Japanese machines are very good but do they make me feel special ? No not really . Do German/Austrian bikes [ with Chinese major components ] make me feel special ? Absolut nicht . Indian bikes ? They're OK and they do a job for a reasonable price . But special ? Hardly . American bikes ? Glitzy eye candy , like a sugar rush , but special ? Not for this cowboy . Chinese bikes ? Never in a million years and I wouldn't be seen dead on one . The latest crop of Bonnies are the best looking and truer to the classics of the late 60's . The exhaust note is good but will never be as good as a 60's Triumph with a 360degree crank , I can hear them coming for miles and it's always a joy . BSAs aren't bad either , Nortons snort at you and RE Interceptors [ real ones ] shake the earth as they go by . Buddie however , is the Compleat Modern Motorcycle .
I have had two rear inner tube valve failures in 6 months. Can't get air in our out. I am fed up with tubed tyres that's for sure. Everything else on the bike is great but I would prefer it with tubeless wheels.
Dear Sir, Many thanks for your videos - I really enjoy watching them, so please keep up the good work. I'm coming very close to pulling the trigger on one of these, but there's just a couple of things I'm concerned about. Firstly, how do you find it on the motorways? Is there enough power there to hold a steady 75-85mph for a lengthy period of time, with enough left for overtaking (or getting out of the way)? The reason I ask is because I'll probably end up taking mine over to France, and doing some touring etc.. Secondly, what about all the crap/crud/muck that hits the radiator? I'll definitely get a rad guard' with mine, but I'm just wondering how you clean it etc..Has it caused any real problems for you?. Any advice you can give me - with the benefit of hindsight of someone who has owned a T100 for a while - would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your time and efforts, Neil (West Mids).
Thanks Neil 😁 I had the T120 before this and found it more cumbersome. I find the T100 perfect for everything and it sits solidly on the motorway at 75/80 both solo and 2-up 😁 70 is 3500revs which is halfway to redline 😁 yes, it definitely needs a fender extender and radiator guard, the muck does get flicked up😁 They come without a centre stand so I would definitely recommend you have one fitted, makes maintenance much easier 😁 I would also find an aftermarket grab rail because the triumph stuff is pretty expensive for what it is😁 if I was touring Europe I might also consider a touring seat 😁 hope that helps 😁
Dear TAYM, Many thanks for your reply. It's been very helpful, and has certainly allayed a few concerns. If you don't mind, I have a couple of more questions...if you're taking your Bonneville out in our fine British weather, has rust ever been a problem for you? For example, the brushed aluminium engine casing - do you spray on a protectant after you wash it etc.? Also, chain maintenance - if I'm flying round France for a week or two, in your opinion, is it really necessary to clean and lube the chain every 400-odd miles, or could I get away with it until I return home to Blighty? Once again, many thanks for your time. Have a good one, Neil :)@@TAYM
Lovely bike. Personally I prefer my 2018 '59' edition with chrome wheels and exhaust pipes. My old Interceptor was great value and similar in looks but not the same build quality and finish. I had the same seat discomfort as Mrs TAYM, Triumph comfort seat sorted that as it's much better.
The T100 is a lovely bike for sure, the stereo typical modern classic. I still wouldn't swap Bumblebee my Thunderbird Sport for it, there's just something special about the later Hinckley built bikes.😊
@@TAYM We're both hoping the same for you and your family, sadly the weather has been horrendous, gale force winds and driving rain. Otherwise Christmas was great as well as a time to reflect on my mother and father who used to join us every year 😇🙏
@TAYM I'm going to have to try one before making a decision on my next bike, I loved the T120 when I tried it but I keep hearing good things about the T100, so cheers for the tips TAYM and Happy New Year 5 days in ! 😄
Again, if it wasn't for my dealers#/t, I would own a triumph right now. They are that bad, I won't bye one at my current living place. If I move in 2025 to Tennessee, I will see what I have and go from there. Have fun this week. I rode back home yesterday and boosted my confidence for travel. 450 miles in one day. I hurt, but I was able to do the ride in one day. That Concours is an amazing bike for my needs and the W800 if for all my wants. Hope to see some more progress and really get a steady video out, 3 a month this year.
Love the classic look of the T100 and like you said it’s almost the perfect all around bike. I loved my street twin. Did everything great. Not the fastest bike out there or the most high performing but super reliable and fun to ride. Thanks for the mutter TAYM.
Tru-fuel I guess might be an American solution see won't put mine away I have a t100 2018 matte 🖤 I have to agree with you about the bike we have a tech bike parts cam upgrade as well as an x-pipe....🎉🎉🎉 and British customs sleeper pros. We've went over the top with add on's on it sent lots of photos of it .... quite the list but it's a daily rider replaced the rear rims bearing and the chain and sprockets. I never find myself wanting the 6th speed two up no problem all day I have to agree with you....🎉
Try a set of Michelin Road classics they are the longest set wear wise I've discovered that fits harder composite middle strip I reckon you won't be disappointed....
What sort of idiot says you need a 1200 for motorways, T100 is plenty enough to take you around the world, people always want more power and tech nowadays. Makes you wonder how we did it 40 years ago. You need a fender extender on that.
Of course I see that you have a foot in the past, but note that you will ride a broad variety of bikes. I would have guessed that you'd prefer a Speed Twin for general pricing, but- understand the value of twin clocks, 2-tone tank paints w/ exceptional badging.. I still think that day to day, I'd prefer the Speed Twin 900 over it. Hmmm, Twin front discs...
Only Cyclone Mrs Tree if I don't toe the line, and that's often unfortunately haha...and as you know she is not very big but definitely not to be messed with...no all the wild weather was around the south of Brisbane, Mt Tamborine and some parts of the south coast...shedloads of rain tho
@@daintree2455 Rain 🌧️ yesterday was ready to go out on bike & it rained & then blew over.I thought I may as well have lunch & let road dry out & then big black cloud came in & pissed down & set in.Overcast & raining on & off today but meant to be better by Saturday.
I do not get the Bonneville series at all.. I do not like them, they look weird in profile to me. I am aware that they are very popular in the UK and people probably will dislike my comment.. The thunderbird and the tiger series are better but they do need to start to put shaft drives on those bike for that money.
I'm thinking 🤔 about the Speedtwin 900 Goldline or new Green or blue one.A 1200 be great but a bit pricey & have to go second hand for 1200 but prefer a new 900 & one less gear to change which will help with torque delivery.A V7 850 is another bike I'm interested in in 12months time but the torque delivery starts lower down on Triumph 900 & NZ 🇳🇿 only has a 100kmh top speed.V7 be better for touring with large tank, shaft drive,6 speed.I don't tour much so Speedtwin be adequate for the odd touring & they're quite economical 200-210km per 10L of gas ⛽ as Speedtwin only has 12L tank.T100 has 14.5L tank twin clocks but has spokes if Triumph release a T100 SE with 17" alloys I'd definitely get that ad it looks better than Speedtwin but that has Alloys & is lighter it's the alloys that swing it for me.

I hurt, but I was able to do the ride in one day. That Concours is an amazing bike for my needs and the W800 if for all my wants. Hope to see some more progress and really get a steady video out, 3 a month this year.
Thanks LoY 😁 glad you made it safely 😁 look forward to next years videos 😁
Love the classic look of the T100 and like you said it’s almost the perfect all around bike. I loved my street twin. Did everything great. Not the fastest bike out there or the most high performing but super reliable and fun to ride. Thanks for the mutter TAYM.
Thanks TR 😁
Hello from the north lol 1st
Tru-fuel I guess might be an American solution see won't put mine away I have a t100 2018 matte 🖤 I have to agree with you about the bike we have a tech bike parts cam upgrade as well as an x-pipe....🎉🎉🎉 and British customs sleeper pros. We've went over the top with add on's on it sent lots of photos of it .... quite the list but it's a daily rider replaced the rear rims bearing and the chain and sprockets. I never find myself wanting the 6th speed two up no problem all day I have to agree with you....🎉
Actually got to write something this time about the subject of video and as I ride this kind of bike it's personal lol....
Try a set of Michelin Road classics they are the longest set wear wise I've discovered that fits harder composite middle strip I reckon you won't be disappointed....
Almost 1st 😁😂😂
Absolutely 😁
What sort of idiot says you need a 1200 for motorways, T100 is plenty enough to take you around the world, people always want more power and tech nowadays. Makes you wonder how we did it 40 years ago. You need a fender extender on that.
Yup I think you’re right 😁 thanks MH 😁
Of course I see that you have a foot in the past, but note that you will ride a broad variety of bikes. I would have guessed that you'd prefer a Speed Twin for general pricing, but- understand the value of twin clocks, 2-tone tank paints w/ exceptional badging.. I still think that day to day, I'd prefer the Speed Twin 900 over it. Hmmm, Twin front discs...
Thanks DCG 😁 I like the look of the T100 😁
for about 1000 pound - you could change the paint and get the wheels polished ;;;
Good idea 😁 someone did that very thing and you will see it in Friday’s Mutter 😁 thanks SG 😁
3rd and 3rd...love it when everything matches
😂😂
Cyclone near you Dain 🌲 tree looked pretty bad on the News?
Only Cyclone Mrs Tree if I don't toe the line, and that's often unfortunately haha...and as you know she is not very big but definitely not to be messed with...no all the wild weather was around the south of Brisbane, Mt Tamborine and some parts of the south coast...shedloads of rain tho
@@daintree2455 Rain 🌧️ yesterday was ready to go out on bike & it rained & then blew over.I thought I may as well have lunch & let road dry out & then big black cloud came in & pissed down & set in.Overcast & raining on & off today but meant to be better by Saturday.
@@ruahinesrider we've been getting lots of storms so the nights have been cool...hope they turn up today it's a bit tropical right now.
I do not get the Bonneville series at all.. I do not like them, they look weird in profile to me. I am aware that they are very popular in the UK and people probably will dislike my comment.. The thunderbird and the tiger series are better but they do need to start to put shaft drives on those bike for that money.
Interesting 🤔 thanks Stefan 😁
1😂
Might need to drop T100 off to Derek's Detailing for a triple wash & Ceramic job.HE opens at 9am that's what time I dropped my Trident 🔱 in.
😁😆😂🤣.
I'm thinking 🤔 about the Speedtwin 900 Goldline or new Green or blue one.A 1200 be great but a bit pricey & have to go second hand for 1200 but prefer a new 900 & one less gear to change which will help with torque delivery.A V7
850 is another bike I'm interested in in 12months time but the torque delivery starts lower down on Triumph 900 & NZ 🇳🇿 only has a 100kmh top speed.V7 be better for touring with large tank, shaft drive,6 speed.I don't tour much so Speedtwin be adequate for the odd touring & they're quite economical 200-210km per 10L of gas ⛽ as Speedtwin only has 12L tank.T100 has 14.5L tank twin clocks but has spokes if Triumph release a T100 SE with 17" alloys I'd definitely get that ad it looks better than Speedtwin but that has Alloys & is lighter it's the alloys that swing it for me.
Marvellous 😁
😂😂😂😂
That’s a good idea 😁
