    I'm 79 years old still ride Bonneville T-100 and love it. A wonderful for any age I started with 1966 Bonneville 650 TR120 it also was great RIDE Thank you be safe

      Love to hear this. I'm 72. Just getting back into riding after more than 50 years. Had a little Honda 90 scrambler as a teenager. Nothing since. Decided to take the beginner riding course here in the US just to see if I felt safe. I passed. Got my M endorsement. I bought a 2002 T-100. Practice mostly slow stuff every day. Occasional lazy ride on the country roads around my home. Love it. Be safe!

      Nice to hear. I have just turned 60 and feel quite sad as I imagine my riding days are coming to an end. However, if you can do it at 79 then there is hope!

      Your story is like mine , I am 74 , finished my course 2 months ago. Picked up a new Versys 300 . Done 2000 milesvin 2 months. Have fun , and do parking lot exercises.

    Bought my 2023 T100 Bonnie Chrome last August. It's the 5th bike I've owned in 10 yrs since passing my test and it is the least powerful bike I've owned. I was worried that the power might not be enough for me as I live in the Pennines and so have lots of lovely flowing mountainous roads on my doorstep and my last bike (R1200 GSA) just loved powering up them. I'm happy to say that the Bonnie has plenty of shove and I'm more than happy with it for where I ride. Also, I was really surprised by how comfortable it was to ride back and forth to the dealer for servicing along dual carriageways. It has enough power to easily keep up with the traffic and my backside and knees were great which is often not the case on anything other than a large adventure bike. Because of this comfort, I've found myself riding much further afield than I intended on this bike and have done 3+ hours in the saddle with no complaints at all. The fuel efficiency is fantastic, I regularly get 68 - 72 mpg, which gives long rides on a single tank. Insurance is cheap (for me at 53 years young), cheap on petrol and looks a doddle to service so once the warranty is up I'll save £'s on dealer costs. As you found, it rides really well in city traffic, easy to filter and low down grunt to get off at lights etc. I can attest that it is equally great on twisty roads and steep hills. It does not have the ability to scare the crap out of me with blistering bursts of speed like some of my other bikes which is not a criticism (I actually choose to downsize to reign myself in a bit) but it still puts a smile on my face. The build quality is excellent and, after owning very tech heavy machines, it is actually a joy to have a simple point and go bike without masses of decisions to make about riding settings etc. There are a lot of great machines out there but I think you'll struggle to find a better first bike and in my case I'd struggle to find a better 5th bike!       Thanks for your thoughts, definitely seems a bike that every experience level can enjoy. And lucky you living on the doorstep of the Pennines, what I would give to be able to go out for a sunday ride somewhere like that rather than the congested madness of London. The T100 is still at the top of my list, it may not be my first bike but I will defintely aim to have one eventually.

    I own a T120 Gold Line and live in Canada and just love that bike. The wife knows to bury me with it when I’m done with this place.

    Hi there, I bought the 67bhp 67.8Nm 2013 T100 865cc air cooled (actually has an oil cooler) in black with chrome rims as standard for just under 5k. Mods, it came with a bib screen for the weather, a centre stand and pillion grab rail. I made two mods; 1) Easy to fit Booster plug to run 5% richer, which suits it. Hagon standard road shocks to the back which suits single or 2 up riding, they came with an adjustable spanner which was cool. My wife and I love it and go cruising everywhere including The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, so refreshing not to be surrounded by Hooiigan cartoon bikes, we're not that bothered about power although she's got enough to get around town and to tour quite happily! I love the T100, puts a smile every time I ride it!

    Triumph set up demo rides during the Sturgis Rally last August and I rode every bike that they brought (except the adventure bikes). The T-100 is the bike that I went back to ride three times. I like it better than the T-120. It is simpler, with none of the techy modes that I don't need. The 900 engine was very pleasant in every way and I found this bike to be the best handling bike for me. The other "Speed" versions have a smaller front wheel and those FUGLY gauges. The T-100 cruised very nicely at 75 mph and it felt right at home at that speed. Out here in the Wild West we have a lot of wide open roads and 75+ is the normal cruising speed. It is solid and stable at speeds even higher than that. I took it up to the ton just to see. Perfect. I, probably, will own one of these in the next couple of years. I still need to ride the KAWI W800 to be sure, though.

      Thanks, good observations. I agree with a lot of what you said about the differences. I'm not totally against the single gauge on the speed/street and scrambler. But twin gauges are definitely better. P.S. I don't think we get the W800 in the UK. It's certainly not listed on the Kawasaki website. Maybe someone from the UK can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

      I have seen a couple of Brit riders who have tested the W800 and the older W650. I'll dig through some of the videos and see if I can find who it was.@@get_to_the_lunchbox

      ​@@get_to_the_lunchbox actually the speed 900 has the same size/dia wheels of the T100 but since they are cast aluminum they are lighter, I saw T100 owners swappings wheels for the Street/ Speed 900 because they offer more maneuverability, I thing I very sure is if they still come stock with the Pirelli phantom tires, those really hinder the maneuverability of the motorcycle, they are absolute shite! When I changed the tires of my street twin to Pirelli scorpion STR it totally transformed the whole bike.

      I have a '22 T100 and a '23 T120. I cannot say which is the better bike. It depends on what kind of ride you are doing. My T100 is without accessories except Givi crash bars and a radiator screen. It serves me well on afternoon rides through the local mountains. The T120 is equipped with a radiator screen, windscreen, Hepco and Baker luggage, and crash bar. It serves me well on longer trips or trips requiring gear. There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in power and the sixth gear on the T120 is a boon at highway speeds. The cruise control is also sweet on the highway. On twisty mountain roads the T100 shines. I cannot explain it but the T100 requires fewer gear shifts in the twisties. Neither bike likes to be under 2000 rpms and both are in their happy place at around 3000. If forced to choose, I would choose the T120 but would lament the loss of the T100.

    Definitely the T100. Hopefully buying one in near future. Been weighing up the T100, the Interceptor and the Super Meteor 650.

    I really do love and totally appreciate my INT650 (14K miles, speedo cable only issue) with GIVI side cases. Perfect amount of non-crazy, amazingly smooth (no mirror vibes!) power, admirer inducing vintage looks, and utility for me, but Triumph's stunningly beautiful thing, which is accommodating of uber handsome black finished aluminum GIVI cases is looking irresistible even at 2-freakin Xs the financial burden! Those pea-shooters tucked smartly beneath those black beautifully boxy utilitarian cases complementing that deep green tank would be damn near heavenly.

      You're lucky. I had the gearbox blow at 9000km,.....only 9 months for them to source the parts....so far. This is a known issue and on many forums. Once I get it back it's getting sold then never again will I buy a Royal Enfield.

    In my opinion the best of all the Bonnerville's, you can't compare it to an Interceptor or similar because of its extra power not to mention its much higher price. Perhaps the W800 is more its competition certainly not the RE.

    I put a fender extender on my bonneville front mudguard to stop the muck,dirt and water spraying all over me znx my enjine.
    The back mudguard looks extremely cool and classic and works perfectly.
    I honestly don't get the whole tail tidy thing, it makes the bike look silly imho .
    A fox with no tail 😮
    The micky mouse wing mirrors are also excellent for rear observation.
    I just love the classic look and the powerful thumping 50s soundtrack 😍

    I agree with your assessment of the 650 Interceptor. The low speed handling and the twitchy loose feels like the wheel could could skid and hit the fork lock. There's none of that with that T100. Along with the orange peel paint and poor fit and finish on the RE. The only thing to like on the RE is the engine. As soon as I started my test ride on the T100 knew it was a much better bike than the Royal Infield.

    Bought my T100 new Sept 2020.....never looked back....love it.....I would not buy a T100 now as no chrome rims anymore.
    Not sure I could stretch to the price of a T120 just to get chrome rims.....I would have to look for a low mls T100 with chrome rims.
    I have modded mine to get it even more rtero.
    Yes expensive compared to the RE Interceptor......but WAYyyyyyyy better quality....well worth the extra in my opinion.
    My first bigger bike....late coming to bikes....now 71.....old school is my thing.....always done my own spanner work.....got a 50 year old BSA.... would have loved a 60s bonnie....but one classic is enough and as I get older I am not as keen at spannering.
    But the new T100 looks old school enough to make me happy....in general....I not into modern bikes.....all look the bloody same.
    Cant see me ever selling my T100....if later on I cant ride it....I can alway look at it....that near as much fun as riding it.
    I wonder.....Did you buy a T100.

      I like some modern bikes, but like you I'm definitely more into the classic looks. I haven't bought any bike yet. Still looking. The problem is that I would like more than one, but at the moment that doesn't make sense. :)

      T120. It's a T100 with 300 extra cc's. cruise control, selectable traction control, and upgraded brakes. Even so, I just could not part with my T100 when I got my T120.

    Got to this video yesterday and had to watch again just now, if only to hear the laughs an giggles at the start 😁. Another machine in this kind of grouping might be the Moto Guzzi V7 (classic) as seen on ‘D’Arcy and the Ole Man’ channel. Just in case you haven’t put a deposit on the Bonnie yet ❤

    Either bike seems like a fair choice. Outgrowing the Interceptor would be a strong concern for me. I got my license and my first bike this year, a Kawasaki Vulcan S. Roughly the same power as the T100 but less classic in looks.

    I had a T100. My first triumph. Speed Twin 1200. Bonnie over RE of any type. Hands down the better machine.

      @@get_to_the_lunchbox I have not but do know others that have. I know my local triumph dealer gets them regularly on trade in and the RE fit and finish does not hold up over time.

      Maybe, if you have like $12,000 to dispose of opposed to like $6000. Think of all the extra fuel and lodging and techy-comfy clothing and tasty AF food, and entertainment expenses that extra $6000 could be used towards :)

      Yeah, would be nice :D. I looked up a map of road speeds in London before going out. Pretty much 90% of London inside the M25 is 20mph with a few 30mph roads. By the time I would be able to get out to anything faster I would have had to turn around I go back. I did manage to get on to the A3 for a short burst at 40mph but my camera decided to die at that exact point.

    Definitely more power and I do like the twin dials and the green tank. I think I favour the Speed Twin 900 apart from the modern single dial. The Bluroc looks so small next to the T100 😅 That filtering looked iffy, unless it was just the camera angle made it look narrow 😮
    Wonder what is next to test drive, I expect your choice will change every time, it's quite a jump from a 125

      Ha ha, yeah the bluroc is tiny now. Which is kind of cool, because when you get back on it, it feels very light and nimble. The filtering was narrow but the camera makes it seem a bit more narrow than it actually it, to me it shows how much confidence you get on a good machine, I certainly wouldn't have done it if I wasn't comfortable.
      I have many bikes in mind. My instructor said to get out and try as many bikes as you can, which to me makes a lot of sense.

    The T100 will be always and in every sense, superior to the RE Interceptor .... It got more power, engineering, finishing, tech .... but I guess it's not fair to compare them just because they are both " modern classics" ..... Down here in Brazil the T100 costs 80% more than the RE, so for almost same "pleasure to ride", the RE is a much superior deal .... If you got the $$ for the T100, go for it ... but I did have a GS800 for many years and traded it for a GS1200 and I regret that very soon, even being a much superior bike .. it came along with a much higher cost ( buying and keeping it) for almost the same "pleasure"... So, that's why I would stick w/ the RE ... my opinion, of course .... The T120 is my dream bike, but I've been seriously considering the RE, in stead ... Cheers from Brazil !!

      The fairness as far as cost goes is relative. In the UK, where I am, the cost difference is not as big. RE is about 2/3rds of the price of the triumph. And you can pick second hand t100s up for a similar price to the RE.

      I do agree is relative to each domestic market. If the difference was barely 1/3 in BR, I guess I would pick the T100 Up instead .. but overall, the RE Interceptor is still UK's best selling in its class ....     I love my gold line 2022. But I hate the sound and vibrations above 4k RPM. I much préfer the engine of the T120 which I have tested Yesterday.

    Getting the audio right is a pain. I’ve found the purple panda mic with the cat tail works.

      Thanks, I assume you're talking about the voice audio. Yes it's difficult, I have tried many mics. My understanding is that it's actually the DJI camera as there's a lot of people complaining about it. Even though I have the input gain at it's lowest it still sounds distorted. I've bought a cable that will allow me to adjust the input gain further.

    Is it better than an INT650. I have both.....the 16,000km service intervals on the T100 vs the 5000km service intervals should tell you if it's better...that and the added horsepower. If you can afford a T100, buy that....otherwise buy the INT650.

    You can change the inner clock dials to black ones....companycalle arton...vids on you tube how to do it.....900 bonnies are great.

    It's hard to recommend which bike for you to commit to until we know better what you want in a bike. Is London your primary track? Is it important to be noticed? Is tradition important? Are you in the mood for some adventure? I subscribed to follow your journey and will probably comment onward.

      Thanks, they are the Rev'it Hydra 2 H2O gloves, I believe rated to 5 degrees Celcius. I have a Held Gore-infinium under-gloves on too. I find them acceptable. In very very cold weather they can get cold or after long rides, but generally in temperatures of about 8 to 14 degrees they have been fine.

    now tested the Int650 and comparing to the T100, even price, sound, agiliy, what do you think makes you happier?

      Yeah, as mentioned in the video, they are both nice bikes. If money wasn't an issue T100, everytime. I just felt completely comfortable on it, in every way. Handles very nicely and with confidence (effortless), enough power but very manageable. It feels more refined. There were a few times when I thought the int650 could be better. e.g. brakes, power, handling. But there are advantages with the int650, which is mainly financial. It costs less, but also as a new rider insurance is a lot cheaper. But I still have other bikes to try, but I have to say I liked the T100 a lot and it's going to take a special bike to beat that.

I'm thinking about testing the Guzzi V7 Stone too if it's old school. But since I'm actually looking for something to tour with, i.e. with luggage, travel enduros are also an option. good luck

      I seem to be in exactly the same position as you. I'd like to take a trip in Europe this summer and doing some off-roading is on the agenda, so some sort of adventure bike would be ideal, but I would also really like a bike like the T100. I have a few ideas of bikes to try, I don't want to give too much away till I try them. But certainly the V7 is on the list.

After all, it it not easy to really know what to buy, means, as you do, testing, testing, testing and then at the end hopefully knowing what makes sense or not. I'll have an eye on you. 🤣👍 I am really not sure if it has to be a new bike, maybe there will come an occasion 😉🤭
      But I think, it makes no sense trying to have fun with something under 48HP, even wen it Codes to safety reserves.
      The more I think about All, Royal Endfield makes more sense than others (price is one point) to me.

    115mph?..my 1970 650 T120R Bonneville did that...wtf?. And my 916cc 2000 Ducati has 108bhp/90nM...= 155mph...WTF?.
