After that ending... we move forward a month or so towards the events and the outcome of his orders and see what has happened...
We take control of the side in this short episode, we don't have a game about yet! Or rather no localization about in regards Ao or Zero no Kiseki!
We meet Lloyd Bannings & Rixia Mao!
This will only contain the whole Side Story but only having Events and Battles! Although by the end... you would have to ask... what happened?

The first time I played this chapter, I played Cold Steel II first. When the camera panned across Crossbell's Central Square, it was of mild interest to me, since I've only heard of Crossbell through dialogue from Trails in the Sky and Cold Steel I. But after I played Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure, I replayed this chapter again.
It was like a veil had been ripped from my eyes.
This time, I recognized everyone in the Square. The girl who frequently got the meaning of SSS wrong and her father, the girls constantly gossiping outside the department store, members of the Junior SSS, Coppe, the occupied SSS Building itself... The first time I saw this scene, I was looking at it from the perspective of an outsider. An invading Erebonian. The people and the place meant nothing to me. But the second time, I was a local of Crossbell. How could I not be after roaming the city for two games? I understood the feeling of the other Crossbellians, seeing invaders in your home, turning it strange and alien. Bravo to Falcom from creating such an immersible world.
When you revisit Crossbell again in CS3 the whole city felt all too familiar!
Same ! I've finished CS2 3 months ago, after that I did full video recap of Sky trilogy and I've played Zero/Azure - then when I watched this video again... wow, just WOW.
My goodness, how right you are!! I played CS1 and 2, but stopped midway through because all the references to other games were confusing me. I did not know about Trails in the Sky, and Zero and Azure were unavailable at the time.
So when CS3 came out and the game took me into Crossbell, I had no idea who those people were, or their backstory. After some research, I played Sky series and Geofront finally released Zero and Azure. Wow. Just... wow.
So I went and beat CS2, and these scenes floored me, especially while playing as Lloyd with Rixia, lovely Rixia!! Now I could finally finish playing CS3 and CS4.
How they did this is genius. Good job, Falcom!
Watching Rufus' speech the first time felt like I was watching history from a distance. Watching it a second time after doing the Crossbell arc, now it was personal and I legit teared up a little.
"I'm just kinda jealous of them I guess."
Llyod never gave up and kept fighting for the path he believed in. Rean was forced to be Osborne's puppet despite everything he went through.

Rean here made no sense to me as far as his actions were concerned. Did I miss something? Was he blackmailed? It seems so out of character for him

@@Joeystick He was essentially. Osborne basically gave him an ultimatum. If Osborne tries to take Crosbell without Reans valimar then alot of people will die in the fight against Calvard but if Rean joins him and uses valimar he can keep the deaths to a minimum and help take Crosbell more swiftfully against Calvard. In other words Osborne left Rean no choice.
Since I started with Cold Steel first when I wasnt too aware of the series' order, none of the names mentioned and everything else made much sense to me. But now that I finally got started on Zero after finishing the Sky games, it's nice to be able to put a face to all the names and get all the references.
Ikr?? I had a similar experience before and after I played the Crossbell games. I replayed this segment and when the game panned over the main square, (4:57 - 6:25) I recognized every NPC in there! Well done, Falcom!
Yeah , it was good even without that..but with playing older games , the story went up to another level
Zero comes out this year but TH-cam has all the characters backgrounds.
It really helped watching Trails from Zero in a nutshell to understand the other characters.
I can’t help but notice that Inspector Alex Dudley looks like Machias.

Lloyd's voice actor is also the voice actor for Goro Akechi in Persona 5.
And they're both detectives. Coincidence? I think not.

He is also the same English VA of Sorey in Tales of Zestiria.
Now I finished Zero and AO No Kiseki ( thanks to Geofront's huge and perfect translation ), I realized I hadn't understood anything the first time I played this xD
Every message box feels like a reference to the Crossbell's Arc, even down to hidden stuff ( how Reporter grace knows Reins' identity 👀 )
Damn It felt so weird fighting Rean as Lloyd. I knew there was going to be a zero/ao reference at some point in the game. But i did not expect it to go like this.
entire time I was like: I made Rean way more OP then this, this fight should be over before it even begins.
@@commandertempest6391 Lloyd's the type who refuses to die so easily fortunately, what with HP Regen + reduced damage percentage as health drops.
Isn't Lloyd stronger and more experienced than Rean?
And Rean was kinda demotivated and draws his strength from class vII which were absent at thr time

@@potatoesblink3299 loyd is more experienced but i think with Eight Leaves One Blade style,his ogre power and valimar honestly if rean goes all out using everything that he has loyd has no chance loyd in the end of the day is just a "normal"though highly caplebe person

I've just finished Ao no Kiseki(leaked english fan translation) today, i can now relate to all of their talking.
Characters listed by Lloyd at the end might confuse fans that haven't played either of the Crossbell games
I just finished Ao an Zero AFTER I finished ToCS 2. I did play a bit of Zero so i knew a few names, but now everything fell into place. I hope even the villains from those games will make an appearence in ToCS 3. Only 2 weeeeeeks 😊😊😊😊😊

How cool is the fact that they used the Zero no Kiseki music for the Geofront. They should have kept it in CS3 instead of making new generic music. I am still at the Infernal Castle, so a long way for me to reach this episode...

Not having played Ao No Kiseki, this was quite the experience for me.
I initially groaned, "Ugh, another dungeon, gotta learn how to play with this dude and the pop star girl?"
Then I started bopping my head and tapping my foot to GEOFRONT. Entered first battle, theme got me so hype.
The dungeon ended up being incredibly fun, and I just kept wanting to know more about the two.
Then Rean + Altina show up (huh?! what's going on here?) and OMG that whole fight with "Blue Destination", fucking awesome.
By the end, Lloyd won me over, I like this dude. Rixia too. Well done Falcom.
I was going to buy CS3 anyway, but after this part, damn, I couldn't wait.
Kinda sad that I didn't have the context of playing Ao No Kiseki, for this part and my playthrough of CS3.
Was also disappointed that I didn't see more of Lloyd and friends in CS3 either, but this is just getting me more hype to find a way to play Ao No Kiseki and eventually CS4.
So now I'm making sure I get maximum enjoyment in time for CS4, just started Trails In The Sky on steam, already love Estelle.

Nah, The year Falcom reignited my love for RPG's.
I understand the feeling and its quite unfortunate that until now there has been no news for a localisation for the Zero/Ao games which could have made these mentions and references quite great tbh
Fan translations for both zero/ao exists for PC. There's guides on how to set it up if you look. I played through both of them recently and honestly both of the games are my favorite in the series. (Just finished cold Steel 2)

So I finally finished up the finale at the castle. That twist I never even saw coming. Now I'm at the part where I'm about to start the underground. So I'm seeing Crossbell for the first time. I'm guessing these two are actual characters from the Crossbell games?
Yup, Lloyd was the protagonist from previous Trails games (Crossbell arc) Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki.
This makes me feel like Rixia and Lloyd are canon lovers.
He has a Sun theme like youknowwho and she has a Moon theme.
Noel is also a potential favorite, since their ideals are the exact same.
Another “ship them with the main girl” story gets boring.
Even despite being shipped with Elie in both Azure and Zero.
Well lloyd has 2 potential canon lovers which is elie and rixia but well... It all comes down to whoever falcom chooses
Damn hearing the Crossbell cast in English caught me off guard lol. Since I played the Crossbell arc with Japanese audio .
They should have used entirely only with Zero or Azure's OST including boss fight during the final part of this section. It is a missed opportunity.

oh god i haven't finish the game yet, but damm watever did lloyd and others do they must've failed pulling the strings like usual at some point.
I wish you'd change that thumbnail, as it spoils Rixia's battle outfit reveal for those playing Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki. You never see this outfit until much later in Ao no Kiseki.
Maybe so although depending who "those" are it really shouldn't matter.
What I mean is that even though this "spoils" what she will be wearing for most people who might know who she is, it really matters little (as it did to me when I went through this, heck this alone was enough to make me curious on what they were talking about (Zero/Ao)

Believe it or not, Rixia is displayed in battle outfit on literally the boxarts of Ao no Kiseki. It's not exactly a spoiler they were trying to hide.

For Cold Steel obviously to learn about the characters and the events that lead to Cold Steel 3.
In regards to the Crossbell ones well, it depends if you want to know what happens on that side while the events of Cold Steel 1-2 are happening. You can play Cold Steel 3 and shouldn't have issues imo
@@ranime8156 Do play them before Cold Steel 4, and most definitely Hajimari. I would say the Crossbell arc is now a trilogy of Zero/Ao/Hajimari.
Rean is so nice, he would defeat Llyod if he doesn't hold back, let alone calls Valimar. It's clear that he won this fight, but in CS3 he said that he was lost to Lloyd just to cheer up Juna 💕
Nah he's just a very bland character compared to Lloyd.
@@PhotonSieve i disagree, they are both the "mc that is positive and give speeches" but lloyd follows the stereotype exactly while rean has his own failures which make him an "evil" character in the war, making him way more intesting
in fact the worse character of the sss cast is lloyd imo, he's just such a generic mc

@@josebaltoomarnilson4762 One is just a Shounen protagonist and the other is a Harem protagonist. It's the difference between Naruto and Kirito. Lloyd and Rean can both be seen as generic and they're both great in their own ways.
I don't understand the decision of making 2 important characters as Rixia and Elie be voiced by the same actress.
Probably because Rixia only appears in CS2...

Its funny just how much weaker Lloyd is compared to Rean.
Rean is the strongest protagonist as of Sen no Kiseki II. He's overpowered.

I think they're on par in human form, hell even rean ogre form, lloyd may not be winning but he just won't go down as well. His fighting style is just basically insane endurance, suppression, and evasion tank. There're times when he 1 v 1 enemy who's significantly stronger and more experienced than him by basically being a punching bag untill they're tired.
He needs another ppl to dish out the dmg, don't count valimar lol of course.

while he can't do fatal dmg on arios but Arios can hardly do anything as well. Until certain someone decided to shoot him in the back, so RIP guy bannings.
In terms of power, yes. But in terms of actually being a good character and not as dull as dishwater, less so...
And of course Rean spends 3 and a half games being Osbornes slave while the SSS are up fighting off God's, the system, crazy cults and master swordsmen. 😂

damn i forgot how sluggish and shitty the animations looked, not that cs3 improved anything. all i can do is hope that they change this graphic style in the next title.

Their animations could look like ps1 era gameplay footage and I wouldn't mind if they just gave me better writing tbh. This epilogue ain't that bad, even though you get a couple "barriers" and "we can do it if we're together" cringeworthy lines but hooboy, whenever Rean opens his mouth in front of the rest of the class I want to put my fist through the monitor.
