- We're finally in Crossbell! Though it's bittersweet because it's not as the bustling city-state it once was. Forward, relentlessly, Lloyd and Rixia forge on.
In that vent where Lloyd says he's glad he went in first, you'll get a different conversation if Rixia is your party leader, where he gets kinda embarrassed about the view he's getting.
Also, with Lloyds burning heart craft, the faint only triggers if the buff runs out, so if you use it again to keep the buff active then you can prevent the faint from occurring entirely.
Very nice contrast here with Lloyd assisted by all his friends against Rean who's basically become the new Crow and has to fight alongside a recent enemy instead of his classmates.
Oh my god that music!!! I remember booting up Zero and hearing that music…. Such great memories
The Crossbell arc has the best music out of all the Trails imo.
Arios is a Divine Blade (he mastered the Eight Leaves' second form, Gale), so it makes sense that Rean would at least know of him, even if not personally. I think he was referenced as such back in CS1.
When the day comes that you finally get to play Crossbell, it'd probably be neat to come back and rewatch some of these scenes to get all the continuity nods!
I'm fully expecting it to be like my FC and SC playthroughs, noticing the things placed in these games as callbacks to those ones. I'm feeling the hype for sure
Yeah, I think Rean knows of all the other Eight Leaves students/masters, if not personally but yeah.
Yep, same with Cassius when he was mentioned a few times in CS1. Rean knows about the other divine blades
Actually Rean seems pretty knowledgeable about skilled swordsmen in general regardless of style. Remember he knew who Laura's dad was and who Aurelia was without ever having met them. So its no suprise he'd know about pretty much every master of Eight Leaves considering he knows about the masters of other styles.
You should have played Zero/Ao no Kiseki before Cold Steel. You're missing a lot with those "names" he was throwing at you.
For me it feels good hearing those good old names again after a while.

I think Rean is jealous that Lloyd is fighting for his ideals. Rean turned down the Nobel alliance for that reason.
Yeah Rixia is played by Erica Mendez, she also did Eleanor from tales of berseria among other roles. I actually really enjoy her performance as Rixia here. Her voice is kind of soothing.

There is so much to say about this section. But wow if you had played the Crossbell games this is awesome, so many faces. It is great to watch this after finally playing those games.
The screen faded to black but Rean was standing perfectly upright at the end so I don't know why you assumed he was knocked out or something, Osborne was talking to him quite calmly in fact at the end.
Anybody gets a Chancellor Palpatine vibe from Chancellor Osborne's speeches?
Anyway, as for their English VA, Lloyd is Goro's from P5 and Rixia's is Maki from Danganronpa V3 (for example). Or rather, the VA voiced Lloyd and Rixia first I think but you know what I mean XD

Oh really ? I couldn't notice Maki's voice and naturally I don't know the Goro since I haven't played P5 yet.

As an FYI, after this there's a pretty long (~5-8 hours) epilogue. You might want to pace yourself accordingly.
Ah, the epilogue's as long as a regular chapter. Shoulda known as much going in. Oof
@pharaoh fiasco yeah, the epilogue is enjoyable (for me) but somewhat long. At least 2-3 more videos, I think?
And yeah, looks like you didn't spoil yourself much on the Crossbell games. Playing them yourself and such does make the difference, I think. Especially to explain this part of CS2 (and the later Trails games)
During the epilogue there is one last hidden quest you can do for fun. You have to talk to Anton and whoever the other is of the NPC pair after learning where the final bit of gameplay will be. It's the same day you go to the roof to talk to Thomas

Let me know how far along you are in the epilogue, there's a certain number of steps you need to do in order to reveal that secret scene involving the Black Records. Also please make sure to talk to Vice Principal Heinrich in the hallway :p Oh and Principal Vandyke in his office as well.
I thought the ending was just around the corner at this point. Feel free to lay those secret steps on me

After you collect 5 volumes then you need to follow these steps:
Talk to Instructor Thomas in Ref. Room on Courageous 2F to give him all Black Records before start the campaign on December 31 in Finale
Talk to Instructor Thomas in Faculty Lounge to receive Decoding Report after school on March 12 in Epilogue
Check the contents in Decoding Report from Item Menu (Event category) before go back to Rean's room in Class VII Dormitory at night on March 12
Talk to Instructor Thomas on Main Building's Rooftop for an Event on March 13 (I'll edit this one and say it's after you learn where the final section of gameplay is going to be rather than give the name itself)
Did I mention Osborne got the Soldats and Pantegruel from the NA and now has the most powerful military bar none on the continent? :p
And yep all this names is the best group of trails series

What's evil about this? Crossbell pulled a Pearl Harbor and unleashed some WMD on Erebonia which did contribute the spark that lit the civil war, all while illegally declaring independence, and Erebonia responded with an invasion and annexation. Most countries would see it as their sovereign right to defend themselves in a similar manner. Nothing evil about that, and that is exactly the story Osborne will be sticking to as he extends his mercy and good grace over Crossbell by forgiving their past transgressions and welcome them into the warm embrace of the Empire :p
Yeah I deleted my post since I thought about it and found no way to say what I wanted without being too open about it. Mostly my point was that it's kind of wrong to view this in context of "good" or "evil". The beauty of seeing the Crossbell newspaper is how much of a contrast it provides with the Erebonian newspaper. Both are written with a heavy bias and can't be taken as absolute truth.
