Pinnacles National Park // Hiking Old Pinnacles Loop, Balconies Cave Trail & North Wilderness Trail

Hiked pinnacles national park on the balconies cave trail, old pinnacles loop and north wilderness trail on march 30 2023 after one of the more rainy winters California has seen in the last 20 years. Amazing hiking with water up to knee high at points. Have to cross the north and west forks of the chalone creek at least a dozen time times. You WILL get your feet wet in the caves but it is SO MUCH FUN! Campground is well situated in the valley and accommodates RV's, tow behinds and tents. Has plenty of public restrooms and showers. The welcome center is quaint but awesome and the rangers and volunteers always seem to be cheery. Pinnacles even has a pool! In the video I stayed at site 45 but 34 and 35 are the best. Definitely consider the high peaks trail as it offers the best chances to see the endangered California condor (dont confuse these with the numerous turkey vulture as most people do) and the balconies or bear gulch caves. Make sure and bring a head lamp in there though as it does get slick and difficult to see. Happy trails!
