    My wife and I did the BSL in 2021 out of Road's End with Colby Pass return after doing JMT SOBO in 2020. BSL is much harder and more remote - the climb out up Copper Creek is tough as is the descent down the Bitch. State Lakes are well worth the detour. Glad you shared.

    • @ColemanOutdoors

      Thanks for sharing your experience, buddy! I'm telling you what, up Copper Creek has been the toughest section of Sierra Nevada trail I've ever been on to date. My struggle may have been slightly exacerbated due to some medication I was taking at the time, but not sure I'll be back soon to verify. ;)
      And Tony was saying the same thing about the State Lakes. Wish he would have run out there to give it a look. It might have given me the time to get far enough ahead so I was able to keep up the following day. LOL

    Nice job! I want to do that hike someday. I am going on a little JMT section hike from Mammoth to Yosemite next week. I hope the snow is all gone. Going to take my time and do a lot of fishing!

      @ColemanOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Kevin! I hope the trip went well. Are you going from Agnew Meadows to Tuolumne Meadows by chance? I've done that route along the High Trail. Let me know how it goes either way.

    • @kevinhelfend555
      @kevinhelfend555 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ColemanOutdoors Yes I took the High Trail to 1000 island lake for the first night. Then up and over Island and Donahue passes to Lyell Canyon. Island Donahue still held snow. Day three I went from Lyell to a few miles past Sunrise HSC. Day four took me to Happy Isles. Beautiful trip, but lots of bugs!

    Little too close to that snake for my comfort! Looking forward to the rest. when I was down at the middle kings, the gNats were absolutely horrendous. That’s why I want to do this trip in probably October.

      haha....yeah, that GoPro is at the end of a 4 foot trekking pole. 😉 The gnats weren't too bad, but I know that feeling of when they are. I hope you're able to get out there, there are some great waterfalls to be seen along the way.

    2023? This is really 2023? The reason I ask is that I've been watching youtube vids of backpacking this year in the sierras including in the sequoia national park and they all seem to be backpacking on almost exclusively on snow which makes sense given the record snowfall in the previous winter but I'm not seeing snow on this video. In fact it looks really dry.

    • @ColemanOutdoors
      @ColemanOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is in September 2022. Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes it's hard to catch-up when life is busy or there's been other roadblocks keeping you from completing the edit.
      I hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless. 😉
