    You’re really good at protecting your own body and not lifting/moving him around. This is how to create longevity in grooming. You see so many people with weight limits, and this is a perfect example of how to make sure you’re protecting yourself as well!

    As a vet tech the hair in feet protect the sensitive skin in between feet. Unless matted I just trim not shave out.. that skin is very easily burned concrete...

    You did a beautiful job as always!!
    I totally agree with you that doodles and other grooming breeds should come every 6-8 weeks or you will not groom them. I have lost/gotten rid of quite a few dogs with that policy. I do not regret it at all

    H!! Aw, Diesl looks so sweet!😔 Love nice friendly tone of voice . I have a large goldendoodle (65 lbs) a small standard and 2 mini sized goldendoodles. I don’t have a groom table, so our dogs lay down during groom- I need to get one this year, hard to get up sometimes with my 52 yr old body! I like your hair vacuum system! I would like to get that someday ❤️😀

    I wish I had 3hrs for large doodles! Unfortunately my shop is always in a rush. I have only 2hrs usually to get it done. We don't do a pre-brush unless there is significant tangling, as we like to add extra conditioner and use the hv to force out the smaller tangles. Bonus tips: hold a towel in your other hand to absorb the water sprayed off the dog to dry faster.

    Love SOOS!!❤ I started to apply Suzannes method with preclipping the fur. It gives less hair to dry. With that the dog is exposed less time to HV noise or any dryers noise.

      I only stretch the skin if it is loose and buckles. The hair vac system helps with smooth clipping too:)

    Wonderful Amy! That was my question though. What we can do if an animal is agressive, fearful, and wants to bite us. Do we continue with it?
    2. I would very much appreciate it if you could demonstrate the "stripping" method, with the special knives. Also, do you groom cats? If so, can you make a video?
    I am from Greece, and have finished my grooming course, but I haven't got any experience yet.

    so what would you advise for someone that got a dog at 12 weeks, dog was sent to a month-long board and train program to get a base for further training he will receive. and when he came home to me at 4 months COVID restrictions were still in place. I'm watching your videos because I attempted to get him in with groomers within a 50 mi radius of where I live and they were either not taking new clients or were booked out to next year and this was in February. so I'm watching your videos trying to learn how to groom my own dog who's now 7 months old. I've given him baths and things but had to attempt my first actual groom on him this past week. let's just say I already learned a lot. I decided that I would like to begin offering dog grooming services in my area as it is a need that's not being adequately met but if I can't even groom my own dog how can I groom someone else's

    I noticed you added the SOOS conditioner using a loofah instead of with the Prima Bathing system. Is there a reason not to use the bathing system to apply the conditioner as well as the shampoo? I'm thinking of getting a Prima for my shop (only see 4-6 dogs a day) so this made me curious...
    Thank you for everything you do! Love ALL the videos!

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I only use the prima for shampooing. I feel it is not good to put conditioner in the system because it will gum up the insides.

    I have a 16 yr old, short hair dachshund who chefs like Cray. What blade should I use for her for the shed/debate rake?

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think at 16 hrs old I would not use deshedding rakes due to super skin sensitivity that comes with age. The easiest method for deshedding at that age is brushing and combing in the tub during the conditioning process. The dead hair will slide right out 💕

    so basically you're telling me I just need to learn to groom myself. Groomers quit left and right where I live. I try to get my dog groomed every month but finding a reliable groomer has been challenging. Watching your video, I can see why. You have quite a lot of rules. I wouldn't make enough money at my job to pay you if I was as autocratic with my customers. That being said, at least I learned a lot from watching your video. Guess it's time for me to start learning how to groom.

      My poodle is only a year and a half old and I was obsessive with socializing her including grooming from an early age. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with a white moyen; I let her be a dog and she goes hard on her play dates and more often than not comes home with black legs and neck from playing. I had to learn the hard way about matting - I bought an $80 pet dryer and it’s been life changing. I tell everyone I come across bc my groomer has been on maternity leave and It’ll be 4.5 months between her last cut and at this point I joke I basically have a diy grooming salon now, she had three baths this week (muddy spring) anyways I didn’t realize what I was doing by letting her air dry, now I did my research and bought chris Christensen brushes and conditioner / detangler and we can get a full bath and blow dry done in 18minutes. Which I think is pretty good, the dryer is a game changer. She doesn’t mind it and is now conditioned to head straight for the bathtub when we get home 😂 get decent brushes and shampoos etc and a dryer and it’ll pay for itself in no time.

    where do you purchase your clippers and shears? twice my dog has had his "tender" area Skinned! penis and anal area. He is really easy to work with just like the dog you groomed. Its a bit of a job, but I just do not trust taking him to groomer. by the way it was two different groomers. feel like a little less of a professional cut, but will not pay good money and bring home a dog that has to be treated for injury.
