I think u r f***** nutz! I bought the kenchii flash5 but only now I noticed that their blades cannot be sharpened and they are only disposable! Are u crazy to tell people to buy this machine for almost 200 bux while they cannot sharpen their blades?!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you will feel good after my comment. You are really bad person.
Watched every frame of this video. You and Gus are inspirational! I just downloaded your guide. Now I need to print up the transcript of this video to study. (Not even a clue if that’s possible!) Then I need to send you a plane ticket to my home.) THEN we’ll be all set! 😂 Seriously, you are very much appreciated! I am so tired of feeling very defeated trying to figure the finer points out on my own. I’ve bought several excellent books but nothing is better than what you’ve shown here!! I will study every bit of this video more and I know we will do a better groom! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this. Sam and Sophie thank you, too! 🐾 🐩
You have no idea how happy I am to find you!!! I'm actually a dog trainer who trains Service dogs for Veterans for no cost. (we're a 501c non-profit) At present, I have 4 Standard Poodles I'm training. I also carry many hats and grooming is one. This is the most comprehensive video I've seen. I can't thank you enough!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this - we recently took in a senior golden doodle from a family member who moved and couldn’t take him along. He had been in a boarding facility for 3 months ungroomed. I knew I didn’t know much going into it but felt I had to help him and take him in because no one else would. His first groom was a full shave because of matting. It seems like behind his ears is a difficult spot. It’s thanks to our new amazing groomer and channels like yours I am learning how to take the best care of him because I didn’t know the importance of regular brushing and methods to avoid matting to make sure he is healthy and comfortable in the later years of his life ❤
We absolutely love your videos! A little over a year and a half ago my boyfriend's mom passed away, so we inherited her 3 dogs, a 14yr old Beagle, 7yr old Labradoodle, and a 4yr old Goldendoodle. We already had a 5yr old Goldendoodle and a 6yr old Labradoodle. So our Fur Family grew quick. Upon inheriting his mom's three dogs, my mom passed away, and we decided to rescue a 1yr old Labradoodle for my Dad, turned out he was not ready for a dog (especially one that was going to get so big), so we decided to keep that one as well.... What's one more dog when you already have 5, RIGHT 😅😢. Well then it came time to start taking them to the groomers. And we had no clue how expensive it was going to be. I found your videos shortly after their first grooming appointment and decided to try to groom them myself. Well, that didn't work because the clippers his mom already had were nothing like what you mention in your awesome videos. So of course after one dog and 8 hours later, we decided we can't do it. Fast forwarding to now, we have decided we just can't keep up with the grooming bills on the regular schedules. So I am now a stay-at-home fur mommy (constantly cleaning dog hair off the floors, furniture, and trying to keep them brushed. I have started watching your videos again and just placed a large order on Amazon (thank goodness for Amazon Prime Day 🎉 💸🤑). You have been so helpful and inspiring with your informative videos and we are so thankful to have you as part of our Fur Family! Thank you so much❤😊
I did the same thing, waited too long. Brushed, washed, conditioned, brushed, force dried the body. She won't let me do the legs and head. It took me 3 days with breaks, but Sophi is back down to a manageable length. I do have that dryer brush, will use it next time. I don't have your talent and stamina, but the job did get done. Thanks Amy for your wonderful videos! I knew I could do it!

Thank you for your video... our groomer refuse groom my goldendoodle last minutes... And my son in love tried grooming him!! OMG, this was a horrible. Thank you again! I love all dogs lover!!
I love studying your tips and classes. Lol, My future professional career in my senior years. I'm retiring in 2024 ish than enjoy my life as a groomer and enjoy kitties and puppies. Love your website. Thank You so much.😂❤🎉
Oh what a fantastic video of grooming a big hairy goldendoodle , he is gorgeous. I love watching the fur slide off on shaving as though its like ice cream melting . Thank you for letting us meet Guss .
This is an awesome video Amy. I throughly enjoyed watching you expertise with your technical skills. I am a home groomer a d have learned so much watching you at your job. Thanks for sharing all your videos with us Amy. 👍
Hi Amy. I am a grooming neophyte and I am so grateful to have found your channel. I have watched so, so many of your videos, and many of them multiple times. This video is one of my favorites and it is the one I have been waiting for!!! My dog, Cora, is a Wheaten/Poodle mix, so her hair is not exactly like Gus' but it's close enough. Cora has never been to a groomer although she is 1.5 yrs. (I decided that I wanted to groom her myself, mainly to create a bond with her). Long story short(er), I found you. After choosing and buying all of the tools and products that I needed, based on your recommendations, I performed my first full-out, legit groom. I wanted to follow along with a video, but none were as thorough, succinct, and quick as this is one is. I saw this video the day you posted it, which was 2 days after our big groom day. I will have this as a "follow-along" for all future grooms. I did a great job, including a LOT of scissoring. She looks beautiful and it's all due to you. This probably should have been an email, but perhaps someone will read about my experience and be inspired to follow you. I am a lucky recipient of your loving and caring generosity. Thank you!
You made him look so beautiful. I have had the most difficult time keeping my doodle knot free. She loves running through the sprinklers. Then when she goes to her doggie day adventure park she comes home matted 😅 I really need to watch more videos. Big Gus looks amazing.
Her hair is too long for you to properly maintain, that's why she is matting-not enough proper brushing. A much shorter trim is your only option. my friend.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I just finished grooming a rescue dog who was in very rough condition (coat wise). If it had not been for your videos I would have not been able to help her. Thank you!!!
I groomed a 1yo male goldendoodle today. He was good in the bath, but absolutely hated my table. I think it's his lack of experience. He was so patient and sweet, while making my job much harder. He had a lot of matts. What should have only taken 3hrs, turned into a 6hr groom. 😂😂😂😂 The owner is a sweetie too, and was so appreciative. Time well spent. 😊
This video hits so hard, I have everything but the clipper vacuum. And literally every time I go to groom it's like a whole day. I'll admit I dont even care that it doesn't look professional just getting back to the starting point is more important.
You do an amazing job on your lovely boy, Gus. I have a rescue dog that is a Wheatendoodle and his hair looks exactly like Gus’s hair …it just seems like layers and layers of fluff lol! But, he hates being groomed and unfortunately he is also a biter so I for the last few years I have been taking him to the vet to be shaved a few times a year…It does take a lot of stress off of me but I wish I could groom him myself…Thank you for sharing this awesome video!!!❤🐶✂️🐾👏🏼
Very much appreciated your video, I have a merle golden doodle (gray & black). Very curly, thick hair and can't find a groomer to correctly give her a hair cut so I'm going to take care of her myself.
You have a lot of work to do and maintenance. Please watch my videos on bathing, brushing, and coat prep before clipping. Don’t wait too long to care for your doodle.
😂Had to watch before I went back to grooming my Goldendoodle Bowser....about a year old...he loves to fight n chew me the whole way through ...two groom days in with muzzle! My back hurts! Much more than I bargained for...hope he trains into a service dog for my adult son next two years! Hugs n Blessings
Wow. Thank you for your videos. I know I cannot achieve the excellence you have. But there are great tips. My doodle has extremely curly hair. If I dry her and give her the nice fluff, it curls the minute she is in humidity. She is an active dog, hikes, swims and loves outdoors. So I really cannot expect to keep her in a freshly groomed look. But understanding grooming feet, ears and face is helpful. Thx
I’m new at this and want to be good at it. Your video was extremely helpful, please keep producing them. I have 2 golden doodles, complete opposite coats, one curly and one thick and straight.
Brilliant such a still dog lovely model, my girl moves around so much also hates having nails done, I love the longer coat on a goldendoodle but she loves going short it's like a lot of weight off of her, thankyou for the video
This is the best video I have seen so far. Wow you put in so much work and explained everything so well. I would love to job shadow you and I’m not a groomer! I’m looking to groom my own golden doodle. Large male as well.
As the old saying goes, " the blacksmith's horse is never shod". 😄 The dog still looked great even though his fur was a bit long. And he looked great afterwards of course. Thanks for the video. 🐩
Great video!! I struggle with teddy bear heads a lot! It seems like every head is different😮 do u have a video on how to keep your wrist steady and arm movements on scissoring? Thank u Amy!
My brother has a goldendoodle his name is Marshall. I'm pretty sure he gets groomed maybe twice a year. But Marshall is a happy-go-lucky boy without a care in the world. I can only imagine the nightmare amount of work involved to fully groom him though. Sometimes the fun playful types come with a price.
I so enjoyed watching your video , you definitely make it look effortless. I have rescued a Standard Poodle , he fights me at groomig time , especially when it comes to his feet . He hates to be brushed , have you got any suggestions for me ? Thank you !
Yes Regina, everything I suggest in this video should help you and your poodle. Before committing to Grooming your own Dog, do this th-cam.com/users/liveproTqNC5B7o?feature=share
To a mom who has been grooming her doodle for 5 years this has been very helpful. I have always groomed her short to keep it easy and less mats, but she has never looked quite like a beautiful doodle bc of it. She is VERY curly almost kinky on her back legs. Do you have any tricks that will keep her legs fluffy after walking around in dew covered grass. All the grooming just disappears after a few good walks from grass and just her own natural oils. Would a certain shampoo and conditioner help with that. Thanks so much!
I just purchased many items to start grooming our large golden doodle and he has many mats. I just received the wahl 10 clipper. I have the clipper comb attachments. Which blades are a must have?
Amazing video! I have a timid doodle that won't let me near him to trim around the eyes let alone allow me to groom him. Do you have another video on how I can do his grooming myself? Thank you!!
Amy...thank you for all the awesome detail! We just had our clipper heads sharpened but some of them still do not cut properly. Is there a trick to proper tooth alignment?? I feel like its hit or miss once i take them apart to clean them or sharpen them myself.
I recently got a Chocolate Doodle we named Pennie at 8 weeks. She is about 10 1/2 weeks now. When should I start taking her to a groomer? I’m thinking somewhere around now is the time but wanted some input. Thank you for any input at all. Your Doodle is absolutely beautiful 🥰
Hi, love your channel. I have a groodle who is constantly getting matted, I can’t get the clippers through her hair so most of the time I have to groom her with scissors. Are there clippers out there more suitable for very tight curly groodles? Thank you for any advice you can give me. @janines babblings
All. Dog clippers will get through a matted coat, it’s blade size that matters. 7 or 10 blade length for matted coats. Nothing shorter or longer will work.
I have a 9-15 year old maltipoo rescue. His coat was absolutely neglected, they had to just shave it all off. Now whenever I brush or clip his hair his skin seems to be very very sensitive. Is there anything else I can do to help him?
How do you get a dog to walk from a bathtub to a grooming table I’m asking because Marybeth had trouble getting the big dog out of her mobile grooming van Bathtub and on to her table so she can see what she is doing
Training and I only accept clients that agree to keeping a regular schedule. This helps the dog learn to do all the things needed during the grooming session too. 🙌
@@GoGroomer I was watching her groom a Newfoundland and she would pull the dog and the dog would put two paws on her grooming table and then back up into the tub
@@jennifermcfadden8713 the dog does not understand what it needs to do to please the human. Large breeds especially need to have a groomer take the time with them when they are young to teach them how to get in the tub and on the table. This is essential, and pet owners need to understand this is important at an early age.
Hello Amy, I'm a new follower on your great channel. We have a 1 year old barbet with 5" long hair. We'd like to groom / trim his hair ourselves but don't want to shorten it to 1" (the longest length on the Wahl steel combs). We'd like a minimum length of 1.5 to 2". Are there clip on combs available that are greater than 1" and do they perform as well as the 1" or less versions - or, if hair is to be kept long, does that require scissors ? TY!
I need to know what kind of clippers to purchase, and what special attachment combs I would need to groom my 5 lb. Maltese doggie (Oliver) I have been watching you for very long time. I am retired and want to groom him myself. I am a retired hairdresser so am familiar with humans, but not so much doggiese. Any advice would be appreciated. Ruth James
Hi! I just love you. I have purchased so much of the things you recommend; clippers, your sapphire Shears, Sapphire Chunker Shears, absorbent Towels, so much I can't remember all of it and EVERYTHING has just been amazing!!! I have been trying to purchase your beginner guide to grooming for $199.00 but for some reason I will not allow me to purchase it. Is there a trick to it? Or, more likely I don't know what I'm doing. lol Is there anyone I could call to get them to walk me through it. NOT YOU, you're way too busy. I can't thank you enough for everything!
My groomer charges extra for washing... So I only get the grooming done. I can wash my dog on my patio. why do you think sharing will fail if you don't wash and use the funny brush first. I'm asking because I just bought dog clippers because it's getting expensive and it will be cheaper to do it myself. I guess I'm a little nervous I haven't tried yet. It seems that I should wash the dog after I clip him to get all the excess hair off him
i work at a dog grooming shop and this is insane to me. they should always wash your dog first if only to keep their shears clean and to get a better cut.

I can definitely relate. When I was grooming dogs every day, my personal dogs at home sort of took a back seat on their baths and grooming.
Mine would be bathed in shower with me and clipped off with a 10 in summer!!!

So informative, thank you 🙏 ❤
My pleasure🙌
I just purchased many items to start grooming our large golden doodle and he has many mats. I just received the wahl 10 clipper. I have the clipper comb attachments. Which blades are a must have?
Love it but my labradoodles will not stay still to allow me to do all this 😉 can Gus’s teach her
Wow your dog is so well behaved , I just groom my own dog a Yorkie she HATES baths and is like a greased pig in a tornado , any tips ?
Check out the Groomers Harness. I haven't tried it myself but it looks useful.
I have specific videos that can help you 💖
Úžasné ❤❤❤
😍
Amazing video! I have a timid doodle that won't let me near him to trim around the eyes let alone allow me to groom him. Do you have another video on how I can do his grooming myself? Thank you!!
He is sooooooo handsome 🥰🥰
Love your videos❤
Cutie!!
Amy...thank you for all the awesome detail! We just had our clipper heads sharpened but some of them still do not cut properly. Is there a trick to proper tooth alignment?? I feel like its hit or miss once i take them apart to clean them or sharpen them myself.
What igroom shampoo do you recommend before grooming a goldendoodle thank you for the tips! Love your videos
This shampoo AND conditioner. If you don’t condition, matting happens fast! amzn.to/49qilwQ
I was watching your video on the care for the coat of a Cavalier. What was the name of the shampoo and cream rinse you used?
I recently got a Chocolate Doodle we named Pennie at 8 weeks. She is about 10 1/2 weeks now. When should I start taking her to a groomer? I’m thinking somewhere around now is the time but wanted some input. Thank you for any input at all. Your Doodle is absolutely beautiful 🥰
Now is the perfect time❤️
@@GoGroomer thank you so much for answering so quickly!!!! 🧡🧡
When will the KM10 be back in stock?
I’m not the manufacturer but it usually does not take long🙏

Hi. Can you suggest a HairVac system that can connect to any clipper that is not too expensive, but is really good? Thank you!😊

@@GoGroomer thank you!
Question, what are you using to shampoo? Is it a compressor sprayer?
Where can I get a professional grooming comb? Thanks.
Groomers choice
Hi, love your channel. I have a groodle who is constantly getting matted, I can’t get the clippers through her hair so most of the time I have to groom her with scissors. Are there clippers out there more suitable for very tight curly groodles? Thank you for any advice you can give me. @janines babblings
All. Dog clippers will get through a matted coat, it’s blade size that matters. 7 or 10 blade length for matted coats. Nothing shorter or longer will work.
@@GoGroomer thank you for that, I’ll check out the size of mine.
I have a 9-15 year old maltipoo rescue. His coat was absolutely neglected, they had to just shave it all off. Now whenever I brush or clip his hair his skin seems to be very very sensitive. Is there anything else I can do to help him?
Maybe you are brushing too hard, could be the problem.
@@GoGroomer I wish, it doesn't matter how soft I brush him. I'm pretty sure he was @bused by his previous human. 😑
Did you precut
@@GoGroomer the owner insisted that Marybeth not shave her dog but wanted only the matted parts shaved
TY!
I can’t find links to the products! Can anyone help?
I need to know what kind of clippers to purchase, and what special attachment combs I would need to groom my 5 lb. Maltese doggie (Oliver) I have been watching you for very long time. I am retired and want to groom him myself. I am a retired hairdresser so am familiar with humans, but not so much doggiese. Any advice would be appreciated. Ruth James
If you watch my videos, you would have no questions.
Awe. Thank you.
There is no trick to buying my course. But you have to have a PayPal account in order to pay.
@@GoGroomer I Thank you so much! I'll try again.
Love your video how old is your baby?
Almost 6
My groomer charges extra for washing... So I only get the grooming done. I can wash my dog on my patio. why do you think sharing will fail if you don't wash and use the funny brush first. I'm asking because I just bought dog clippers because it's getting expensive and it will be cheaper to do it myself. I guess I'm a little nervous I haven't tried yet. It seems that I should wash the dog after I clip him to get all the excess hair off him
i work at a dog grooming shop and this is insane to me. they should always wash your dog first if only to keep their shears clean and to get a better cut.
