    I feel like Disneyland rivers and island are safe. We use the rivers for Fantasmic and Fantasmic is a money maker for Disney with dining packages. And they JUST refurbished the mark Twain. Florida didn’t use their river like we use ours.

      I agree about the coco location, they can easily use the small buildings used for the pier games as part queue. The facade you showed can be pushed forward like they did for the midway ‘Mania and that would add some more queue space.
      The backstage can be re-arranged and a much wider building can be fit in there replacing the long parade building. There is enough room for a show building that is slightly bigger than the boat ride in the mexican pavilion in Epcot which is also larger than the mermaid ride.
      As for timing i know you said they can start soon but remember they said ground would not break until 2026. So coco will not be ready soon.
      The timing can also be because they might have and idea to add this as a Disney forward expansion for DCA

    I don’t think they would ever replace alot of Walt’s attractions in Disneyland because of the legacy they hold. If DW takes some of those replicates away it actually kinda adds to the OG nostalgia vibe of DL. Setting it apart from the rest in a way. Also I think DW eco climate is just so different that the river there has been fraught with issues. And unfortunately the issues probably outweigh the attractions popularity level.

    I really wish they could put that beautiful 1937 Packard Coupe back under the awning of the station, or at least put a mechanics working bay alongside the building so it is covered and protected from the weather, the rubber in the weatherstripping will be damaged by the direct sun as well as the cloth and painted surfaces and when the weatherstripping goes the rain will find it's way into the interior of places that it can do a lot of expensive damage. It's a shame to lose an irreplaceable part of automotive history to irresponsible ownership.

    David i really think Avatar will be in the Hollywood backlot.
    If you remove all the extra fluff in the artwork that is just there for presentation and to show cover where existing buildings are, the layout fits hollywood lot perfectly.
    the bottom of the art, remove the extra lush tree areas and note how it fits the northern part of hollywood and also the east side.
    The long building fits perfectly to where the hollywood facades are. The long canopies on right side of art fit perfectly to the street that runs North to south and the large bunker style building fits perfectly where the Hyperion or old hollywood and dine is.
    That whole water area and walking areas in the art fit perfectly to the backlot. The show building would fit well in the shuttle area.
    The rock work on the left side of art can easily be skinning for the muppet building which can stay as a hollywood street attraction with the exit routed back to the street.
    The amount of acreage in the backlot is actually not small, If you include some of the east backstage area wasted because of the monorail track, you add several swuare feet of property. once monorail is rerouted.
    All that land is slightly over 9 acres and still leaves room for a wide path leading from bridge of eastern gateway and a monorail reroute. Also does not include philharmagic and also not including any of the outdoor queue of the Hyperion or backstage roads.
    That is just shy of the Carsland 12 acres footprint and the 12 acres of Pandora in WDW which has 2 rides. I think they can squeeze out another acre from this property if they reconfigure some stuff.

    David, both Avenger attractions are going behind the avengers building. Not going in the dr strange area.
    The garden and wall behind the jeep will be a very wide entrance that will leas towards the back. As you enter the building the left side of structure will lead to the Avengers ride. The fourth attraction will be in same building but to your right. The fourth ride configuration is on a “L” shape path.
    The idea was to have the kuka arms load and them move to a point where they push into a individual domes. Not sure if the domes are still part of it
    Getting back to the new rides, there is plenty of room backstage for the large show building and both rides. There will also be changes to the backstage access toad that is next to the connection of avengers campus and carlands. The pathways will be re adjusted to allow for the “L shape configuration of the fourth ride.
    Don’t be surprised to see that newly walled off garden becoming mostly a pathway and existing pathway adjusted for part of the Avengers addition.
    For comparison, there is approximately 3.5 acres of available land behind Avengers building without removing backstage buildings or roads.
    Rise of the resistance building and queue use approximately 2.4 acres

Maybe they’re going to build it on the north half of Tom Sawyer Island next to Big Thunder Mountain RR and the backcountry there and keep the southern part as it is? Seems like the north area would be big enough.

      I know exactly what it will look like in the 2040s and 2050s. I was there and I'm speaking to you from those time periods as Owner and President of Disney. I can confirm Disney will no longer own Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, ABC, ESPN, the Muppets, or anything else it bought after 1995. Galaxy's Edge is gone, Avengers Campus is gone, all Pixar attractions are gone. Disneyland will look like it did between 1969 and 1995. The Peoplemover is back, the Skyway is back, the 1978 Matterhorn is back, Pirates has been restored to its original pre-movie state, too. The Iger era has been undone and Disneyland is great again.

  • @bradkoerner1

    Regarding the Hyperion, you just have to ask: What executive wants to fund the enormous development and ongoing operation costs of a Broadway-level production that has ZERO direct ROI? OR - they could demolish the Hyperion (plus the enormous queue area for Hyperion), the unused Studio 12 building and combine all that land to build a major E-ticket that will directly generate $50-70m annually in Lighting Lanes; drive an enormous attendance boost for several years; plus will have enormous F+B and merch sales. Hummm....

    • @bradkoerner1
      @bradkoerner1 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Even more: I did some research on Broadway costs - from a legal website: "Most new major commercial Broadway musicals currently have production costs, including a reserve for unanticipated expenses, in the range of $17 million to $23 million. For a major Broadway musical, fixed weekly operating costs excluding theater rent usually range from $650,000 to $800,000 a week." Nothing Disney does is cheap, plus unions like their pay raises and perks. So a Disney executive has to greenlight $23m upfront (for something that might creatively bomb on day 1) and $30-40m in yearly operating costs for a show in the Hyperion. Or demolish the whole building (which has long been paid for so their is no financial obligations on the books to keep it), spend $300-400m for a cash-printing E-ticket/gift shop/bar restaurant. What would you choose?

    With all the talk about 'Beyond Big Thunder', I thought that they would do the same thing as Disneyland > shorten the ROA/TS Island, the bend the railroad in closer before turning it back out to its original course...just like Disneyland did with Galaxy's Edge. And that it would be a big walking loop from Big Thunder through Cars & Villains then through a spooky tunnel under the train and past the Haunted Mansion.
    But what do I know....🤔

    34:35 - it just doesn’t make sense to put Cars in the middle of magic kingdom when all the Pixar stuff is in Hollywood studios. It’s like they’re just throwing things into what they consider open spaces. It’ll be renamed Hollywood Studios or something similar eventually.

    The only issue I have with Coco in Pixar Pier is that I think it could be a multi-ride land as part of a DCA expansion. If they just want a one-off boat ride, why not more Nemo? Or one of the newer films - Luca, Soul, Elemental - any of them could work, and probably wouldn't support an entire land like Coco could.

  • @RyMoeller
    @RyMoeller 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Just figured I would toss in this thought regarding the Magic Kingdom doing away with the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island (circa minute 33:00 of this video)- it's the Lightning Lanes that led to this. The riverboat and island cost money to maintain and don't produce money directly; this wasn't so much of an issue before pay-to-play lightning lanes as it was easier to consider both features an enticement to get people into the park, now the game is to maximize revenue from those in the park (hence the loss of most shows). Triple A rides with lightning lanes are going to be a major focus going forward. Personally, I consider this a great loss as it's a short-sighted business plan that really prioritizes a particular segment of the customer base. I also consider the riverboat and train to be important touchtone features of both Disneyland and Disney World - but that's another conversation.

    Re mobile order: I’m not a fan of the system as it is now. Why? Well one of my trip planning hacks for the last 15 years was to get Disney gift cards from the grocery stores with gas discounts before the trip (and get cheaper gas at the same time) then before the trip I’d combine the gift cards into 1 or 2 (food & merch). Well unfortunately the Disneyland app doesn’t let you save a gift card as a payment method for ongoing use so if I had tried to use mobile order, I would have had to manually enter the card info every time.
