The Pumpkin King figure in the front queue is a new one, too. It's a lot smaller, has no string lights - and it's actually sculpted / casted instead of made of real straw. Old one definitely looked better.
I thought I was crazy! I’m glad you posted this! I’m guessing maybe they had to scale it down due to the new proportions of the grassy area where the scarecrow is posted? You’re right though. The original legs look sooooo much better! Personally, I think the scarecrow at Tokyo’s Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare is the nicest.
The front gate Santa Jack sitting on the pumpkin will return soon. He currently cannot be installed due to the close proximity of the temporary walls and the amount of construction still taking place in that area as it could possibly damage him due to his size. The pumpkin snowman, which is normaly on the front facing right side is a temporary placeholder. Santa Jacks snowflake has also been fixed and will once again be spinning.
14:34 the characters in the window is not new they have been there for a long time but we’re not noticeable but they are not boogie’s boys they the Halloween town band from the movie

I think you are 100% right about those beams. I think they will be needed. There's probably a lot more wiring lights and other things that will need to be concealed for the animatronic bride. I miss her already. She's going to be amazing. I can't wait. Adding more of the backstory would be great. thank you for telling us the story. We don't get to hear it often enough. ❤️

4:07 - 4:52, the brick wall's ark was changed from convex to concave. The footprint of the convex arch is in front of the hearse. the landscaping on the other side of the hearse is narrower now.

If I was to guess, they might be building a little backstage area that supports the show area for the bride. The same goes for the hatbox ghost as you exit the attic. That’s partly why they could not place the hatbox ghost in the same location over at the magic kingdom.
When Haunted Mansion was young the bride was inconsequential. Going down the hill backwards never had anything to do with the bride. It was a spooky way to go downhill (scary trees)
22:59 I personally never got that lore/story of the window from the Mansion...and my Disney trips were 90s to around 2006. Very curious to see how this might change and give more lore to the ride.
Dude I looked closely at the scarecrow and I was like, somethings different/off. They gave him feet and then I looked closer and I think the entire scarecrow is different. Thats why he doesnt have the orange lights on him anymore. But yeah he has feet now
that Scene where the to Pop up s are at and where the animatronic Bride ghost will be soon,Its going to make the sceen look deeper and as you mentioned the window too, so it will look like a cool effect when the Bride ghost will come back
I'm wondering if they are creating a scene for the Bride that has her inside the attic, then, you see her again on the outside as you turn and 'fall.' That's a pretty dark spot so there's real estate there to work with. Will be interesting to see what happens but, I would say it's definitely official that something new is coming to the attic and I don't hate it at all!

So many Changes! Of course they have to because the park is ageing. And of course you might as well improve things. I've been going to Disneyland since the early sixties when I was a small child and seen a lot of changes. You have to get used to the changes to still enjoy the park. As long as the "spirit" is the same, and they do that with their homages. I like your positive attitude, I myself have made the same choice. As for Magnolia Park, I remember the 60's and 70's when I would listen to Jazz Bands there with my father. But that was before Fantasmic when that area was quieter at night. All the excitment was over at Tomorrowland. Not so now. (P.S. The original que was bare concrete with stanchions and chains. Very hot in the Summertime! .) Looks good!
I'm pretty sure the Lightning Lane queue will still continue past the pet cemetery and follow a similar path and merge point. 2 reasons for this. 1. From the scanners to the door is nowhere near enough space to hold the LL queue, and by placing the scanners inside, they are likely going to need some additional queue space for LL based on past lines I've seen. So don't be surprised if there is a switchback for them on the other side. 2. Why would they have a railing if that path was only for stand-by? There would be no need for that, unless they are splitting the line like Pirates, but that's functionally different and would not make sense for HM.

I'd like to see you do a report on wheelchair/scooter access at Disney. I notice that there were a lot of scooters in the queue. I've seen other videographers do that, but FreshBaked! generally does it more in depth.
Yeah, the grass area where there's now a fountain is **MUCH** smaller. Most likely because there's more concrete laid down where you enter the queue proper, to make room for the hearse.
A big change you didn’t mention Dave and I noticed this when I was in the standby yesterday as well as in your video is that the line is now wheelchair accessible
I agree with the bride scene. I think we will see the window part or we will be the ones getting pushed. I love it. Many people didn’t understand the illusion of the guest falling from the attic.
At 11:45, I'm pretty certain the grade has always existed here. When you enter the mansion landing from standy, you enter on a flat surface, but when you enter from the front, there are multiple stairs.
This change is awesome! Now there's a reason to go through the regular queue to see all the gardens and it's faster for lightning lane, but you also get a line element in the hearse on the way in. Also with the LL scans past that point, people can still go in to take a pic with the hearse and go back out to do standby.

Why can’t you believe it? It was announced. It was in the concept art. It was talked about in many previous videos. Also… it didn’t go away. They just moved it.
Normally, I'm not a fan of Disney changing things in the parks. But in this case, I have to admit that I think the end result will be better. There will be more fountains in the end than at the start.
You missed a few new things, I looked back at my footage from last November, and there are two new items added into the seance room. There is a pentagram light in a box, and the character ringing the bell.
I like the hearse in the new place because I didn’t notice it before. The scenery is still too bright though. I wish all the plants around the mansion were very dark in color. Even the fake grass. Or have the fake grass be shaggy & straw colored with tall tufts next to the graves. And there should be fake headstones sprinkled in all the areas on the grounds around it. And creepy statues. And they need to move a bunch of willow trees there or any weeping type tree. The hearse should be between weeping trees. And how about a reedy pond in the corner near the house, with a willow weeping over it. And a headstone sinking in it.
Amazing video Fresh Baked!! I believe the stretching room scene with jack and zero is completely a screen and projection. So everything you see looking up is a projection. Jack, zero, ghost host, the windows and everything else you see. And since it’s a recorded projection it’ll still have the ghost host. We won’t know for sure if he’s staying until normal HM is back! Can’t wait to see the full new cue and gift shop!!
Front looks great.. looks similar enough so people don’t freak but looks great! Love the more space in the lanes and the lighting lane being moved up, it used to be such a mess out there. Ready for regular haunted mansion in Jan so we can see if your guess is right!
Is the drumming Oogie Boogie from the attic scene now gone? I haven’t seen him in any of the videos. Also bummed that the duck in that scene was moved to the other side and is now in the shadows instead of being displayed prominently like before. Also bummed that there are less trees in the front queue than before and the ones there are smaller. Overall I think it looks great though. I can’t wait for original Haunted Mansion to return.
I am glad they put the fountain in the cue. Hopefully they will have it working. In the stretching room didn’t it used to be Jack’s face only. I like the bird cage and the candle man. Could they have put those beams in to have a cover in case the bride animatronic is not working to have a Bmode. Having a window behind her also makes sense. Only time will tell.
DAVID. At 8:38 into your video the Que railing has a huge problem! The Handrail does not a line properly and that leaves sharp edges that guests are going to cut there hands on. I worked on the cars land project and I can tell you that the imaginers have dropped the ball on this bigtime. You have this documented and a guest along with a good lawyer is going to make some bucks. This quality of workmanship would not be allowed on a commercial building that has no public access. This spot in the railing is only one spot but there could be other issues along that rail as well given this huge oversite. David this spot in the railing you should watch very close and it would be interesting to see all the sections of the new railing. There is a lot of opportunists out there and It wont be long before some one cuts themself or fakes an injury and files what I call a staged "Slip and Fall" type of lawsuit
14:43 I was wondering if the hallway was a bit wider. I'd be curious to see someone needing to use the elevator to determine the space, but it looks a bit bigger. Also I don't think that is Lock, Shock, and Barrel but Halloween Town villagers, not sure on the names.
Disneyland Forward will need a passage under New Orleans Square station near the new Mansion construction - Critter Country can't be the single point of entry to the west. I hope some of this construction is preparing the way for the expansion.
In the queue line, the light post fixtures are completely different, both post and light. Not sure how I feel about that as I think the old ones matched the mansion better.
I’m SO bummed about the change in the lights. The ones on the main gates and the mansion itself matched. I don’t know why they couldn’t use the old ones on the main gate. But it looks like there are more lamps along the queue and they probably wanted to make them all match and “close enough is close enough”.
Isn't the entire scene on the ceiling of the stretching room an illustrated projection during the overlay? I think the rafters and the hanging man you see in the background during Nightmare are not the practical effect but digital animation. If I'm right, that would mean the practical effect hanging man may or may not still be there behind the screen, but Disney decided to not incur the cost to update the projection for this year's overlay.
The new scene in the attic with the two wooden poles will indeed be the new bride scene. The grass in the graveyard is now green instead being brown. I heard the hanging man in the stretching room will change once the classic mansion opens back up.
Ok, I would make the ride longer, after the lengthening room. I don’t like the video screens. They look like tv. I would prefer if they redesign the interior adding real depth of space window & inner room or alcove vignettes & inside some of these spaces from hidden areas project 3d images, old star wars Princess Leia style where its free standing. Real 3d. Those & animatronics. I liked the projected face of the bride, but I hate the tv screen window. The ride needs levels. It should go up in the cars to the attic from the initial entrance after the first room, cars go through a secret door in the wall, & stairs up through a narrow slatted wood framing like you’re between the walls, maybe with ragged openings in the wall here & there opening on darkened scenes in bedrooms/a library with books shifting/floating about & wind blowing in from open windows showing a twighlight scene. Then at the top of the ride, you come out into the attic. It opens out ahead. Has all the stuff in it. But should have more depth here & there like a roof attic does, a place along one side set farther back with wide open french doors revealing a roof top widow’s walk, on a dark moonlit diorama of “outdoor scenery” of tree tops with wind blowing in at the ride and distant lightening. A figure’s shadow out on the walk way shows only for some of the lightening effects. Perhaps the bride… she can show up a couple times. Then the attic tour goes through the rest of the attic & should end at a turn & drop down some stairs that actually bumps your little car 4-5 times. Narrater can say “watch your step”, a little too late and bam bam bam you go down the stairs in your little car. Now it enters the upper hallways maybe has 2 turns to extend the ride and show you more. You’re looking down on the dining room scene etc. The portrait hallways should look more mansion hallway-ish with paneling and wallpaper, alcoves with creepy marble statues. I would put in fake gaslights throughout with a slight flicker. There should be good airflow through some fake open windows on night scenes too far down side hallways to fully inspect as a viewer. But all windows should create the impression that night has fallen early on. There should be fake hallway branches that look deeper than they actually go with perspective tricks but most are blocked off in different ways(fallen broken statue, wide hole in floor into blackness to the side of the ride path, suits of armor blocking the way with crossed pikes across the open space) and some rooms partially glimpsed with ghostly scenes through half open doors, one of them slamming shut. All the portraits in the hallways need to be way bigger because the small ones don’t really give the impression of excessive wealth. I don’t care if they are the exact same scenes, but they need to repaint them at 3 times the size and have big ornate gold frames. And they should add a few landscapes with wind moving the trees, and animals appearing or disappearing. Maybe some monster appears in a woodland scene. Some of them should be webbed over or hanging crooked. One on the floor sitting against the wall. Maybe one slashed by claws or with a sword buried in it. Then the tour turns & goes down a floor again, to ground floor this time maybe not bumping down stairs, maybe slides quickly down a section of floor that had gave way. Maybe individual cars enter a shaky antique elevator with scenes rising past you, more floors than there should be. There can be 4 of these elevators next to each other while the cars behind them wait. But as the doors close on the cars in front of them, the waiting people hear a horrible crash & smoke from dry ice puffs out of one of the elevator shafts as if one of the cars ahead fell down inside the closed elevator shaft. Narrator tells them something about the elevators being in disrepair. On the ground floor, there needs to be some more lavish but neglected rooms you go through like a huge ballroom with something scary in it & shadow or animatronic dancers, then a living room with a giant Ponderosa fireplace with a roaring fire the only light in the room showing you the creepy scene + a moving head on the wall of a very big moose or a Bison or several heads. A free standing taxidermy bear with its mouth open & arms up in attack pose over a scene of two scared old men in black tie evening wear playing chess by firelight & talking in shaky voices, “What was that? Did you hear something?”. One saying “I know you inherited it old boy, but are you sure you don’t want to sell the place?” The other replying, “ah eh well, who would buy it? Did you hear something? Sounded like footsteps..” And at last you enter a really big front entryway scene full of fake marble (floors, pillars, plinths with big vases with dead plants) A huge webbed up crystal chandelier above you with moving giant spiders, a giant portrait of the narrator on the wall at the top of a steep but wide grand staircase off to the right, with fake marble railings & marble railing-pillars leading up, and he’s talking from the portrait. Its a tall thin gaunt faced man pictured seated holding an animal or a skull or map or something. To the left of your car there is a night scene in all the tall front windows. One of them open and airflow from it, occasional lightening. A cowering old butler huddles in the corner mumbling to himself frightened. The grand staircase is flanked by big statues, how about 2 gigantic marble lions or gryphons. Pin points of red glow in their eyes. The whole mansion decor should be just an image of decayed & wasted excess wealth. The ruins of capitalism. Including along the way of the whole tour hints of the ruins of what happened to the family who owned it. Royal colored gold lined curtains in tatters (burgundy, deep forest green or royal blue or deep purple) hang every where along with the shredded white sheer curtains. The narrator then tells you as your car moves across the front entry space that there is a treasure buried somewhere outside in the family graveyard, and welcomes you to search for it, then laughing evilly as your car leaves the house through big open french doors to the side, into a night scene of a disheveled yard lit by tiki torches, there is some ruined outdoor furniture with old rotten food & spilled drinks & wine bottles. A dog skeleton chained to a dog house. A small brackish pond to one side, with a skeletal arm rising periodically. And a slanted statue leaning in the middle. A bit of wind crosses the pretend outside area in light random gusts. Its still night. Lightening on the horizon. Your car travels forward up a path, past the display toward a beckoning figure that is just a shadow in front of what looks like dense trees. Then you go through close tree branches & on into the existing musical graveyard tour.
That story with the bride falling out of the window wouldn't really go with the whole attic scene with the headless husband portraits though. ?? Enjoyed the video 🎃
I remember years ago they had pop ups in the attic which i'm guessing were the brides husbands, then she killed them by throwing them out the window ( reason for going backwards) which is why you now see the corps popping up in the graveyard ?
LL check in on the inside I would imagine could cause issues. People will loiter in that initial queue before they can scan in and people behind them that are eligible to scan in won’t be able to get to the scanners. So it’s going to cause problems anyway.
I’m liking the changes to the Mansion and am hopeful for a new animatronic bride. If the new queue works with Lightning Lane, etc. do you think more attractions will see similar rebuilds of their queues?
9:23 pattern not so great for guests in wheel chairs.. but DAS, sorry AAS has tried to do away with people with disabilities being in the park in the first place.. so maybe it’s not a big deal.
Ugh, Disney has such a bad track record with disabilities. I was wondering if the texture would be less or more fatiguing to stand on than regular concrete...
I love this ride but after watching this video, I can see that there's too much hype about it's reopening. You'd think it was on the lines of Rise of the Resistance. Early last Saturday morning, I entered the "virtual queue" to try to get in. My "group number" was already up over number 300, and my group number was never called all day. I got home at 11:30 p.m. and THEN got a notification on my phone that my group was called. No way in hell is this "new" version worth waiting over 12 hours for. So I suppose they do the "virtual queue" for crowd control but in the end, it only works well for a chosen few.
If they were going to change Constance Hatchaway to Captain Gore’s wife that would require redressing the entire attic scene. I feel like we would’ve heard some inkling or a rumor if that was the case. My guess it has to do with controlling the lighting for whatever new effect is used to bring the bride to “unlife”
While not a part of this video, but the poles on Tiana’s, could they be for shade sails and misters like Soarin’ in DCA, especially looking at them today.

Yes! Before, the scarecrows looked like an actuall bundle of reeds. Now it looks like a plastic leg with plastic feet.
They need to add shade tarps on the que, especially in the blazing heat

As long as the "spirit" is the same, and they do that with their homages. I like your positive attitude, I myself have made the same choice. As for Magnolia Park, I remember the 60's and 70's when I would listen to Jazz Bands there with my father. But that was before Fantasmic when that area was quieter at night. All the excitment was over at Tomorrowland. Not so now. (P.S. The original que was bare concrete with stanchions and chains. Very hot in the Summertime! .) Looks good!
I'm pretty sure the Lightning Lane queue will still continue past the pet cemetery and follow a similar path and merge point. 2 reasons for this. 1. From the scanners to the door is nowhere near enough space to hold the LL queue, and by placing the scanners inside, they are likely going to need some additional queue space for LL based on past lines I've seen. So don't be surprised if there is a switchback for them on the other side. 2. Why would they have a railing if that path was only for stand-by? There would be no need for that, unless they are splitting the line like Pirates, but that's functionally different and would not make sense for HM.
Love this video!! I hope you are right about the new bride scene! Those clown faces bare a striking resemblance to Jangles and Krusty, love it and the nod to Marc Davis. Can’t wait to see it for myself in October!

Yeah, the grass area where there's now a fountain is **MUCH** smaller. Most likely because there's more concrete laid down where you enter the queue proper, to make room for the hearse.

I agree with the bride scene. I think we will see the window part or we will be the ones getting pushed. I love it. Many people didn’t understand the illusion of the guest falling from the attic.

At 11:45, I'm pretty certain the grade has always existed here. When you enter the mansion landing from standy, you enter on a flat surface, but when you enter from the front, there are multiple stairs.
Lamp is always there. Just no candles.
This change is awesome! Now there's a reason to go through the regular queue to see all the gardens and it's faster for lightning lane, but you also get a line element in the hearse on the way in. Also with the LL scans past that point, people can still go in to take a pic with the hearse and go back out to do standby.

I can’t believe they got rid of the fountain!!! They filled it with flowers 😢. I loved that water fountain - it was such a nice touch in New Orleans Square.

Normally, I'm not a fan of Disney changing things in the parks. But in this case, I have to admit that I think the end result will be better. There will be more fountains in the end than at the start.

The people in the Windows were always there. They are the street musicians from Halloween Town
I like the hearse in the new place because I didn’t notice it before. The scenery is still too bright though. I wish all the plants around the mansion were very dark in color. Even the fake grass. Or have the fake grass be shaggy & straw colored with tall tufts next to the graves. And there should be fake headstones sprinkled in all the areas on the grounds around it. And creepy statues. And they need to move a bunch of willow trees there or any weeping type tree. The hearse should be between weeping trees. And how about a reedy pond in the corner near the house, with a willow weeping over it. And a headstone sinking in it.

Amazing video Fresh Baked!! I believe the stretching room scene with jack and zero is completely a screen and projection. So everything you see looking up is a projection. Jack, zero, ghost host, the windows and everything else you see. And since it’s a recorded projection it’ll still have the ghost host. We won’t know for sure if he’s staying until normal HM is back! Can’t wait to see the full new cue and gift shop!!
Front looks great.. looks similar enough so people don’t freak but looks great! Love the more space in the lanes and the lighting lane being moved up, it used to be such a mess out there. Ready for regular haunted mansion in Jan so we can see if your guess is right!
Is the drumming Oogie Boogie from the attic scene now gone? I haven’t seen him in any of the videos. Also bummed that the duck in that scene was moved to the other side and is now in the shadows instead of being displayed prominently like before. Also bummed that there are less trees in the front queue than before and the ones there are smaller. Overall I think it looks great though. I can’t wait for original Haunted Mansion to return.
I am glad they put the fountain in the cue. Hopefully they will have it working. In the stretching room didn’t it used to be Jack’s face only. I like the bird cage and the candle man. Could they have put those beams in to have a cover in case the bride animatronic is not working to have a Bmode. Having a window behind her also makes sense. Only time will tell.

DAVID. At 8:38 into your video the Que railing has a huge problem! The Handrail does not a line properly and that leaves sharp edges that guests are going to cut there hands on. I worked on the cars land project and I can tell you that the imaginers have dropped the ball on this bigtime. You have this documented and a guest along with a good lawyer is going to make some bucks. This quality of workmanship would not be allowed on a commercial building that has no public access. This spot in the railing is only one spot but there could be other issues along that rail as well given this huge oversite. David this spot in the railing you should watch very close and it would be interesting to see all the sections of the new railing. There is a lot of opportunists out there and It wont be long before some one cuts themself or fakes an injury and files what I call a staged "Slip and Fall" type of lawsuit

Disneyland Forward will need a passage under New Orleans Square station near the new Mansion construction - Critter Country can't be the single point of entry to the west. I hope some of this construction is preparing the way for the expansion.
In the queue line, the light post fixtures are completely different, both post and light. Not sure how I feel about that as I think the old ones matched the mansion better.
I’m SO bummed about the change in the lights. The ones on the main gates and the mansion itself matched. I don’t know why they couldn’t use the old ones on the main gate. But it looks like there are more lamps along the queue and they probably wanted to make them all match and “close enough is close enough”.

Isn't the entire scene on the ceiling of the stretching room an illustrated projection during the overlay? I think the rafters and the hanging man you see in the background during Nightmare are not the practical effect but digital animation. If I'm right, that would mean the practical effect hanging man may or may not still be there behind the screen, but Disney decided to not incur the cost to update the projection for this year's overlay.

The new scene in the attic with the two wooden poles will indeed be the new bride scene. The grass in the graveyard is now green instead being brown. I heard the hanging man in the stretching room will change once the classic mansion opens back up.
Ok, I would make the ride longer, after the lengthening room. I don’t like the video screens. They look like tv. I would prefer if they redesign the interior adding real depth of space window & inner room or alcove vignettes & inside some of these spaces from hidden areas project 3d images, old star wars Princess Leia style where its free standing. Real 3d. Those & animatronics. I liked the projected face of the bride, but I hate the tv screen window. The ride needs levels. It should go up in the cars to the attic from the initial entrance after the first room, cars go through a secret door in the wall, & stairs up through a narrow slatted wood framing like you’re between the walls, maybe with ragged openings in the wall here & there opening on darkened scenes in bedrooms/a library with books shifting/floating about & wind blowing in from open windows showing a twighlight scene. Then at the top of the ride, you come out into the attic. It opens out ahead. Has all the stuff in it. But should have more depth here & there like a roof attic does, a place along one side set farther back with wide open french doors revealing a roof top widow’s walk, on a dark moonlit diorama of “outdoor scenery” of tree tops with wind blowing in at the ride and distant lightening. A figure’s shadow out on the walk way shows only for some of the lightening effects. Perhaps the bride… she can show up a couple times. Then the attic tour goes through the rest of the attic & should end at a turn & drop down some stairs that actually bumps your little car 4-5 times. Narrater can say “watch your step”, a little too late and bam bam bam you go down the stairs in your little car. Now it enters the upper hallways maybe has 2 turns to extend the ride and show you more. You’re looking down on the dining room scene etc. The portrait hallways should look more mansion hallway-ish with paneling and wallpaper, alcoves with creepy marble statues. I would put in fake gaslights throughout with a slight flicker. There should be good airflow through some fake open windows on night scenes too far down side hallways to fully inspect as a viewer. But all windows should create the impression that night has fallen early on. There should be fake hallway branches that look deeper than they actually go with perspective tricks but most are blocked off in different ways(fallen broken statue, wide hole in floor into blackness to the side of the ride path, suits of armor blocking the way with crossed pikes across the open space) and some rooms partially glimpsed with ghostly scenes through half open doors, one of them slamming shut. All the portraits in the hallways need to be way bigger because the small ones don’t really give the impression of excessive wealth. I don’t care if they are the exact same scenes, but they need to repaint them at 3 times the size and have big ornate gold frames. And they should add a few landscapes with wind moving the trees, and animals appearing or disappearing. Maybe some monster appears in a woodland scene. Some of them should be webbed over or hanging crooked. One on the floor sitting against the wall. Maybe one slashed by claws or with a sword buried in it. Then the tour turns & goes down a floor again, to ground floor this time maybe not bumping down stairs, maybe slides quickly down a section of floor that had gave way. Maybe individual cars enter a shaky antique elevator with scenes rising past you, more floors than there should be. There can be 4 of these elevators next to each other while the cars behind them wait. But as the doors close on the cars in front of them, the waiting people hear a horrible crash & smoke from dry ice puffs out of one of the elevator shafts as if one of the cars ahead fell down inside the closed elevator shaft. Narrator tells them something about the elevators being in disrepair. On the ground floor, there needs to be some more lavish but neglected rooms you go through like a huge ballroom with something scary in it & shadow or animatronic dancers, then a living room with a giant Ponderosa fireplace with a roaring fire the only light in the room showing you the creepy scene + a moving head on the wall of a very big moose or a Bison or several heads. A free standing taxidermy bear with its mouth open & arms up in attack pose over a scene of two scared old men in black tie evening wear playing chess by firelight & talking in shaky voices, “What was that? Did you hear something?”. One saying “I know you inherited it old boy, but are you sure you don’t want to sell the place?” The other replying, “ah eh well, who would buy it? Did you hear something? Sounded like footsteps..” And at last you enter a really big front entryway scene full of fake marble (floors, pillars, plinths with big vases with dead plants) A huge webbed up crystal chandelier above you with moving giant spiders, a giant portrait of the narrator on the wall at the top of a steep but wide grand staircase off to the right, with fake marble railings & marble railing-pillars leading up, and he’s talking from the portrait. Its a tall thin gaunt faced man pictured seated holding an animal or a skull or map or something. To the left of your car there is a night scene in all the tall front windows. One of them open and airflow from it, occasional lightening. A cowering old butler huddles in the corner mumbling to himself frightened. The grand staircase is flanked by big statues, how about 2 gigantic marble lions or gryphons. Pin points of red glow in their eyes. The whole mansion decor should be just an image of decayed & wasted excess wealth. The ruins of capitalism. Including along the way of the whole tour hints of the ruins of what happened to the family who owned it. Royal colored gold lined curtains in tatters (burgundy, deep forest green or royal blue or deep purple) hang every where along with the shredded white sheer curtains. The narrator then tells you as your car moves across the front entry space that there is a treasure buried somewhere outside in the family graveyard, and welcomes you to search for it, then laughing evilly as your car leaves the house through big open french doors to the side, into a night scene of a disheveled yard lit by tiki torches, there is some ruined outdoor furniture with old rotten food & spilled drinks & wine bottles. A dog skeleton chained to a dog house. A small brackish pond to one side, with a skeletal arm rising periodically. And a slanted statue leaning in the middle. A bit of wind crosses the pretend outside area in light random gusts. Its still night. Lightening on the horizon. Your car travels forward up a path, past the display toward a beckoning figure that is just a shadow in front of what looks like dense trees. Then you go through close tree branches & on into the existing musical graveyard tour.

I remember years ago they had pop ups in the attic which i'm guessing were the brides husbands, then she killed them by throwing them out the window ( reason for going backwards) which is why you now see the corps popping up in the graveyard ?
LL check in on the inside I would imagine could cause issues. People will loiter in that initial queue before they can scan in and people behind them that are eligible to scan in won’t be able to get to the scanners. So it’s going to cause problems anyway.
I’m liking the changes to the Mansion and am hopeful for a new animatronic bride.
If the new queue works with Lightning Lane, etc. do you think more attractions will see similar rebuilds of their queues?
9:23 pattern not so great for guests in wheel chairs.. but DAS, sorry AAS has tried to do away with people with disabilities being in the park in the first place.. so maybe it’s not a big deal.
Ugh, Disney has such a bad track record with disabilities. I was wondering if the texture would be less or more fatiguing to stand on than regular concrete...
The lamp was always there on the right column at the entrance. You can see it peeking out behind the candles in the “before” picture.
I love this ride but after watching this video, I can see that there's too much hype about it's reopening. You'd think it was on the lines of Rise of the Resistance. Early last Saturday morning, I entered the "virtual queue" to try to get in. My "group number" was already up over number 300, and my group number was never called all day. I got home at 11:30 p.m. and THEN got a notification on my phone that my group was called. No way in hell is this "new" version worth waiting over 12 hours for. So I suppose they do the "virtual queue" for crowd control but in the end, it only works well for a chosen few.
If they were going to change Constance Hatchaway to Captain Gore’s wife that would require redressing the entire attic scene. I feel like we would’ve heard some inkling or a rumor if that was the case.
My guess it has to do with controlling the lighting for whatever new effect is used to bring the bride to “unlife”
While not a part of this video, but the poles on Tiana’s, could they be for shade sails and misters like Soarin’ in DCA, especially looking at them today.
