    Could you please give your impressions on how well or poorly it works now that you've had it for a few months?

    I just had my BC 853H in the shop and now runs good, I am going to hook up mine today... and start using it... everything good on yours??

    The Land Honor version I bought had the gear oil at a depth of 3” in the reservoir. I really haven’t tried it yet, the welds look good just a sloppy clean up job with spatter(what do you expect). Is there a way to get a better replacement motor in case it fails? Thanks for posting this channel.

      A replacement motor should be easily obtained from pretty much any hydraulic shop. I have one here local that has made many hoses and source many things for me. You would be surprised at what all they can come up with.

    I bought the great bear, which looks identical to yours... I reached out to the service dept.... they said 6 qts of 10w gear oil.... might want to add a gallon to yours.

      That's perfect. I'm glad you received a response from them. Like you said, I'm sure they are pretty much the same product from the handful of various overseas models I've seen. Thank you!!

    Why it’s not vibrating properly?

    Bought the same one from Richie bros to do a recycled asphalt driveway… seems like it does nothing. On a 262C

    Why does it have 3 hoses? And do you have to use all 3 hoses?

    Just bought one doesn’t seem to be hitting very hard …. How has yours been working out

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce  ปีที่แล้ว

      This one doesn't hit hard but does vibrate a good amount. With the downforce and the harmonics it does a pretty decent job on orientating and compressing aggregate. Soils, not so much. That's where you would need more pounding or something like a sheepsfoot roller.

      @@drtierce Thanks - I had no idea I needed to add oil until I watched your video. I bought mine at an auction for doing a driveway and some yard leveling on clay-type soil. Do you think this won't work for that application? We hooked it up for the first time today and it doesn't seem to do much.....

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @jimburnham4779 These do not have much brute down force and operate more like driven vibratory compactor "steam roller." Your applied downforce along with the harmonics is what is doing the work. Will it work for your clay soil? Absolutely. Is the best tool for the job, no. It's better than nothing, but a padfoot roller would be best suited to that area.

      Thanks for the quick response - I still wonder if my compactor is even working or if we hooked it up correctly. When I watch this video: th-cam.com/video/UuJ-lvviK_0/w-d-xo.html, it looks nothing like mine (I can barely see any movement at all in mine).

    Does any one know what the 3rd hose is for

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a low pressure return line. Hydraulic driven motors can weep fluid internally and this line gives that fluid a place to go. The lower the internal tolerance of the pump the more fluid it could pass. One that has seen lots of use or one of low quality and low use potentially could see increased amounts.

      It's also referred to as a case drain line.
