    On my 2012 RZR 900 xp4 I had a no start issue. Pulled the line going to the injectors and there was very little fuel flow coming out when cycling the key on and off. So I proceeded to pull the fuel pump from the tank to change it and noticed that the little hard plastic fuel line that runs from the pump up to the white plastic mounting flange was cracked nearly in half in one spot. Removed it using a razor knife and replaced with some submersible rubber fuel line and the RZR is back to running like new.

    They did replace the pump no hassle for free. I did have to pay for shipping unfortunately. The replacement has been working trouble free so far. The customer service rep was nice and said they did have a bad run for a little while, unfortunately. If I'm understanding, it initially worked then nothing? If you have power and ground, it is supposed to pump. I will run my own power supply and ground to double verify it is indeed pump problems and not vehicle related.

    Two questions - You didn't show what for me is the scariest pat of this project, drilling the hydraulic tank hole. Did you run into any issues with debris falling into the tank? Would it be possible install the drain line into the metal tank cap? I was thinking it would be easier to remove the cap and install the fitting in it off the machine. I'm about to attempt this on my old CAT 277.

    I have the same rocker arm that popped off. When I put back on, it's loose, definitely not tight fitting. I wouldn't be pulling a heavy trailer if the valve seat dropped...that can't be the case...I bought a new one and it's still loose and doesn't stay on

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the trouble. If the rocker is loose as you say even with a new lifter, the valve it not fully up for whatever reason. Look at the valve and compare it to the one next to it in the same cylinder while the camshaft lobe is up. Even remove the neighboring rocker arm if needed for better visual. I'm willing to bet the valve is hung up either because it's stuck, bent, or something in between the valve itself and the seat causing it not to fully retract.

    Does any one know what the 3rd hose is for

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a low pressure return line. Hydraulic driven motors can weep fluid internally and this line gives that fluid a place to go. The lower the internal tolerance of the pump the more fluid it could pass. One that has seen lots of use or one of low quality and low use potentially could see increased amounts.

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      This one doesn't hit hard but does vibrate a good amount. With the downforce and the harmonics it does a pretty decent job on orientating and compressing aggregate. Soils, not so much. That's where you would need more pounding or something like a sheepsfoot roller.

      @@drtierce Thanks - I had no idea I needed to add oil until I watched your video. I bought mine at an auction for doing a driveway and some yard leveling on clay-type soil. • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      @jimburnham4779 These do not have much brute down force and operate more like driven vibratory compactor "steam roller." Your applied downforce along with the harmonics is what is doing the work. Will it work for your clay soil? Absolutely. Is the best tool for the job, no. It's better than nothing, but a padfoot roller would be best suited to that area.

    Will adding a case drain prevent a mulcher or shredder piping seals. If the gpm on the machine is higher then the spreader

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      No it will not. A case drain basically funnels any fluid that weeps past the internal components of the hydraulic driven motor. Secondly it acts as a safety feature to protect the skid steer or tractors hydraulic system. If the hydraulic driven motor was to fail, the case drain goes back to the reservoir to be filtered. If there was no case drain, the contaminated will travel to the hydraulic pump before being filtered. High flow skid steers will have an auxiliary function to run low volume attachments. If your machine is still producing more volume than the attachment can handle, weather it being outside the specified range or just aged and fragile, you can use the engine throttle to lower the gpm.

    • @drtierce
      @drtierce ปีที่แล้ว

      @michaelbridges3165 If the unit has a piston type hydraulic motor, you must run the case drain. Not hooking up the line would case the seals on the hydraulic motor to blow out almost immediately. I've seen a couple that run a gear motor style that a case drain would be only optional.

      not surprised... hope it didnt cause any damage man. These things can get expensive to rebuild. When swapping exhaust that is not a direct bolt-on (and even most cases there too), its best to get a programmer and tune it properly. The RZRs need a specific exhaust flow and the intake flow is dependent on the exhaust flow to function properly, since its not a proper EFI like cars have ( a car's efi will re-tune to fix the fuel ratio - atvs like ours do not ).
