    I really like that the garage door has an opening into the back yard, what a great idea. Not having to get tools, yard gear, etc. from the garage door in the front and carry stuff around to the back, is such a time saver. I've never seen this done before and wonder why more don't do this.
    The deck looks amazing, great size and will last for many, many years with your choice of materials.

    Beautiful deck! Beautiful job! I would love to do our redwood deck over in Trex because living in the hot Nevada desert, the sun is so strong and I find myself having to treat the deck every year to keep it looking new, and I'm no spring chicken! Great job Stefani and Devin!

    Very good looking deck and well explained. 👍 I was curious as why you didn't tape the blocking (supporting the picture frame). I thought we want to avoid having water contact with any horizontal surfaces..thanks

    You always do a great job no matter what it is. Did you have to get a permit for the deck?

    Looks great, big improvement over the concrete. I'm wondering about making plugs from waste material. I have the same issue that they don't make them for my composite decking. Has anyone tried this? Using a 3/8" plug cutter?

    How does it do with water drainage when it rains? Does water go into the foundation?

    Question, shouldn’t you tape your horizontal blocking as well?

  • @darthslipknot91

    I honestly hated using those deck clips. The screw snaps way too easily and I had my impact driver set as low as I can go. If you don't install them exact, it's hard to tweak them over and you might be stuck with one clip that's off. And, if you snap the screw when you're well into the project, good luck replacing that. So I commend you folks for using Trex.

    Why does it seem like you did the screwing of the hidden fasteners backwards? I’ve never seen an install video where they get screwed down between two rows. They always get screwed up against the new board that was just laid down. Is this way a new vendor recommendation? Maybe it’s just me. Cool project, as always, Stefani. 👍🏻

    • @jasonurbanski2224
      @jasonurbanski2224 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They didn't fully tighten the fasteners down on each row, which makes it easier to slip the next board in, then they went back and fully tightened them down after the next board was installed.

    For composite decking shouldn’t you go 12” on center not 16”?

    • @Wowzersdude-k5c
      @Wowzersdude-k5c ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, 16" is fine according to Trex.

    • @b3arwithm3

      It depends on your board spec. Some we even allow 24.

    Is the floor joist sitting on the pillars? If yes then why the hangers?! Imo you wasted a ton of money on the pillars. Wow
