  • A UK microbrand putting its own twist on 2 well known styles of dive watch. lots to like with this one, the finishing is some of the best that I've seen from a microbrand, reliable Seiko NH35A movement & a numbered limited edition.
    if you like your microbrand watches or homage watches come to that, this one could tick a lot of boxes for you.
    let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
    And as always thanks for watching.
    here is the link to the Marlinwatch website, its not an affiliate link its just to make life easier for you if you feel like checking the brand out.

      Yes I think youre right the styles do work well together, I was also pleasantly surprised that they kept the sizing sensible too.
      Thanks for watching mate.👍

    A whole lot too like about that watch bro, no doubt, great find and an excellent review as ever 👍👍

      Thanks my brother. It's definitely one that I am happy to recommend. I quite like the idea of mixing 2 different styles together as well, rather than having a copy & paste of one watch.👍👍

    If it didn't have that date at three o'clock it would of looked so much better , i dont normally go for white dials but this just works, thanks great review.

    Enjoy learning about brands I haven’t heard of before. And I can even actually afford it! Thanks for the great review.

      It's always good to find less well known brands & the hunt is part of the fun.
      This one I rate as right up there with some of the best that I've found, well worth a look.
      Thanks for watching.

    Great review. Been looking at Marlin Watches for a while and managed to bag a MK2 in black and olive a few weeks ago for a very, very good price brand new from their eBay site. Very impressed with the finishing. A great value watch, reminds me of the watch offerings from Aragon - well built, great spec and good value.

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the finishing is very impressive. Overall, I think it's a very good watch, I really like the amalgamation of styles, too. I think it works really well.
      Thanks for watching.

    Definitely interesting. It’s nice to see the light coloured dial with the blue bezel and accents.

    This watch offers some impressive features. If they’re going to offer an integrated 11mm screw bracelet, they should include a rubber as well since this won’t be a strap monster. The counterbalance is cool. The bracelet is really nice as well. I like polish outter and brushed inner links as well. Good review.

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The addition or at least availability of an FKM to fit the 11mm lugs would be great to see. I'm 100% with you on the polished outer links of the bracelet it's far better than polished mid links.
      It was also good to see the overall finishing is definitely up a level. I have to say that as far as homages go, the mix of the 2 styles works really well.

    👏👍 Great review of a very good looking watch. I've been impressed with this micro brand. The watches look really well made so I'm gonna snap up the yellow dial version. Although this white dial is lovely too!

    Really love the dial on this one for sure! Definitely a nice find, nice to see the nice finishing on it as well indeed. Nice sounding bezel, only gripe I can see so far is the integrated bracelet, would have been nicer to have an easier swap out for more bands like a nato and such. Great lume, lots to love about this one nice find thanks for highlighting it m8

    I have this watch in the same colour, well made and nice design. Dimensions good, my only personal gripe is that it’s a little bit thick but that’s due to the automatic movement, but sits fairly well on the wrist. Lovely colour scheme in blue/white. Definitely worth the money as purchased from eBay at really good price. Recommended 👍

    Nice watch mate .The dial is a bit busy for me too much text..it also comes In at 558 aussi dollars .
    Thanks Adrian

      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is a fair bit of text, I didn't think it was too ott, but I can see where you're coming from. I could've lived without the "est 2020" at the "6"
      Cheers Mal.👍

      It's always good to stumble across local brands. This is the 3rd one I've found from our area now.
      Marchand, Beaucroft, & now Marlinwatch.
      Cheers, mate. appreciate you checking the video out.👍

    Definitely loving the look and observed quality. One to keep an eye on for any sales like you mentioned. I guess my only very little negative comment would be that it looks a tad thick, but I know I could live with that. As for the colour, I think I would try something different like the yellow and black.

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The quality is definitely there, as for the thickness, yes it is a tad on the thick side, possibly due to the domed crystal, but it does wear OK.
      Yellow & black is always a good choice for a dive watch.👍

  • @pzwolski
    @pzwolski ปีที่แล้ว +2

    "Est. 2020" on the dial is strange. It would better be "Assembled in UK" or a 3 letter abbreviation. 😂

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, that text seems a little superfluous as it's already on the box. Not the end of the world though for me it was just an observation

  • @watchsixto
    @watchsixto ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Honestly, it doesn't look bad, and a lot of watches are at the price. I like the white dial

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I actually quite like the mix of the 2 styles, I think it works well, but you are right that it's got a lot of competition at that price.
      Cheers mate.👍

    I bought this watch solely because of the dial. I have a weak spot for white dials with a touch of blue. Very excited to try this. As of June 7th 2023, price is down some. I paid about 256 USD shipped to the US. Have you compared any 3rd party Oris Aquis straps to this watch yet for compatibility? Great review and thanks for all the specs on it and close ups.

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching. Yes I agree there is something "just right" with a blue and white dial and this one is done very well.
      That's a pretty good price including shipping can't grumble about that.
      As for 3rd party or Oris straps, no I haven't tried any yet but that is something that I will be having a look at so there could well be a follow up video with that as the subject.

    Lovely watch but steep at £300

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 300 mark seems to be where most microbrands land their pricing, but these are always available on their ebay store for less.
      Thanks for watching

      Ah Mr negative Nellie! Welcome back. I've seen you comment before, but only when you don't like something!😂
      Maybe you would like to qualify your apparent dislike for this piece, although I do seem to recall that you're not a fan of "mashups." I think that's how you put it previously! Which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.😁
      I'm interested to know what you would get for the same price.

    • @jontpt
      @jontpt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@somewhereintimewatchreviews Hey, you should be happy to be getting any comments. It's good for your algorithm, so don't complain. This is just a basic Chinese NH-35; for the same money you could get an entry level Swiss piece with an actual Swiss movement. That's the qualification. Much love, Nellie.

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha who's complaining? Certainly not me!
      I'm also not bothered about the algorithm in the slightest!
      A new Swiss made Automatic for £300 hmmmm I've been collecting for a long time & I don't think I've ever seen that particular unicorn!

      @@somewhereintimewatchreviews I'm wearing one right now - a glycine combat sub. And there are plenty of others as well. Best, Nellie

    • @somewhereintimewatchreviews
      @somewhereintimewatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Jon Parker I have to admit that the only Combat sub I've seen for under 300 is a quartz one the autos are usually at least twice that, but well done if you picked a new one for 300.👍
