League racing was so much better when there was no F1 esports with big prize money around, and people weren't sweating the F1 game as a full time job. It has made the whole thing really toxic. Money ruins everything, I swear.
It’s not something exclusive to F1, IRacing suffers from very much the same issue, ppl sweating their nuts off thinking they can become the next Jimmy Broadbent or Jann Mardenbrough.
Ohh no. Not again. I've been using Joy2key in the past, because some very pricey wheels (GSI, Cube Controls,... which are more than 1000EUR) sometimes want to do things their own way*. I used them for second analog paddles to look left/right in ACC/AMS2/iRacing, because it can't recognize analog input when expecting digital**. I know you can create Macros there for anything. In context of F1 2024, you can create ERS None -> Overtake or anything that you can achieve with button presses. I can also see someone using it legitimately. Example: F1 2024 doesn't recognize your strange pedals you bought from some company (there are so many now), and you don't have a choice, if you want to play a game. So I can see someone using Joy2Key without knowing it would create some advantage. I would again blame CodeMasters. It's 2024, for gods’ sake. I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds out that if you have Spotify Open, you can run 120 FPS but the game will behave as it's 60FPS. Jeez. I also wouldn't be surprised if someone used joy2key for cheating purposes. Sad. Just sad. Why can we have nice things? *Yes, I know they all now work through SimHub, but you can do this in SimHub too. And if you want to use the Display in your wheel, you need SimHub. **Yes, I know this is now fixed in iRacing.
Mate, I think it would be a cool idea for you to do a stint of 20 laps with the software and 20 without and we'll have an answer of how much this gives an advantage
People are using glichtes and exploits in video games all the time, whether it's esports-level or not. In some ways doing this is part of being a good gamer imo. However, when it gets to a point where it is either an external software doing the trick or it has something to do with the way you connect your exipment to your computer, it's not within the game anymore and thus cheating. At least that's the way I see it.
I don't see how this would go over the LAN event organizers, and how such incompetence would be allowed to stand. Stripping points off the offenders is extreme, but hopefully, inevitable
@@Andre_The_Millennial EA and Codemasters have a license for 2025 and 2026. The hope is, as I understand it, if the sales are bad, they won't renew the license. That's all.
The easiest way is if the organizer setztthe PCs and the wheels, the software is pre-installed, everything is set so that only admins can install any software, because nobody is allowed to do it in advance (can be realized with Guest-User in Windows for example) and then the PCs have to be returned to the organizer. You could also monitor every PC all the time and check them for manipulations after every Event. The perfect solution for LAN-Events in F1 eSports.
I totally agree with the conclusions. Exports should be moved to console straight away. Simply because people who know what they're doing on PCs can do all sorts of things. Exports is a mess and we need a "quick fix" (console) as well as a long term fix (better anti-cheat system which detects exploits like these as well).
You don't need any external tools like joytokey to trigger the controller filter onto the pedals You can actually enable it internally Its a game bug I discovered it back in f1 2019 (but never actually used it in races) i wanted to stay clean and legit the 45fps and 60 fps was enough of a scandal...
Its kinda simple really.. In the game when it shows a drivers name on track there will be a indicater if there on controller/keyboard etc as per the selected control method. In ESports it requires a webcam to view the driver. So therefore if the "Trick" had occurred the driver would be using a wheel but the OSD indicator will say controller. Its really not hard to find this exploit, and I'm not totally sure but I thought in F1 24 it did indicate if the driver was using a controller preset? Anyways when ESports is at home rather than LAN then on console or PC people are gonna look for ways to improve a couple of tenths of a second, outside the boundaries of the rules. So I think the forcing an esport onto a console is stupid really, but eh... that's me :) P.S. I think ESports has ruined the game personally and after buying it from 2010-2021 I have no intention of buying it again, especially now its EA running the show.. so farewell Codemasters
Please run some laps without JoytoKey then try it for a video. It would be super interesting to see the differences. If a good driver can show us this it would be so interesting.
I use to hold the L3 stick up, (Playstation) then slightly move it left and right depending on the corner, which helped me do small turns insted of big turns.
Alex gillon did a test on his channel around the pedal and he found it was minimal to 0 in lap time (within driver margin of error) the difference may be in how you get to that lap time in terms of acceleration etc But would be curious to see further testing to see if it does impact it or if its more placebo effect
There is so much BS on the internet. The manager that published that post should add evidence that people were using the software and that the software can be used for cheat purposes. Honestly if it is just mapping the buttons it is not a problem as many wheels has enough buttons to cover everything you need, even ERS none to overtake by game config. Now if it gives you better traction or other performance advantages than it is a problem. But no evidence was shared. Just some manager stating something on X. Many people use Fanatec pedals directly to PC not to cheat but to have a better calibration especially on brake force. Honestly, these tweets from that manager and other drivers without any supporting evidence is just sad. The solution for esport is that the company that manage the event is the one that needs to install the equipments and control what the team can do in terms of configuration on the devices used. I hope they did this last year. Otherwise is just amateur management.
Why don't they just force to players use the PS5 version of the game for competitive events? Now the difference the PC and the PlayStation version of the game is very minimal to zero right?
What would be the best solution for a game is special anticheat system that when f1 esports race is happening when u join the lobby it must take 1 hour to check your files of the game and if something is used before u proceed in to the qualies and race ...maybe it cant be done but if it can i think the should do it and that way you could atleast be assured that cheating wont happen
lol, game has in built system/cheats, people that are dedicated to the game discover a way to maximise what they get out of their gear & game. People use said system. **surprised pikachu face** Want to remove the problem? Remove the cheats controllers get from the game, or don't discriminate people based on their input device and let them chose to use said ingame 'assists' to be on the same level as the controller in options, rather than using a binds software (calling this cheating is hilarious to me). Skill issue.
I tested this and its nonsense it does not work joy2key by definition is a joystick/controller to keyboard command emulator not expensive wheel to cheap xbox controller emulator, however i would suggest they are using something else called X360CE this will show the expensive wheel as a xbox controller joy2key will show it and only allow you to bind keyboard commands. People need to learn what software they are talking about before they talk.

Just stick to console leagues. Simple. But apart from that F1 is dead
