Thanks for the comparison videos. You forgot to mention Boromir's horn of gondor which is a storage solution. It comes with a string loop that can go around his waist. Simply remove Boromir's waist joint (mine was loose without hot water) and put his horn around his waist, it then sits nicely on that hook you mentioned. You can then use the string's tightness to attach his sword/scabbard and even the daggar through.
The horn got lost in the edit, but I didn’t think to have it hold up the sword- brilliant! Thank you!
I did put the horn of Gondor around his waist as you recommended and it was very easy.
I think I can glue string to the sword sheath and loop it around that center waist piece. That way it can sit pretty invisibly.
The dagger with the pointless sheath…I’ll likely cut the handle off and glue to the sheath and attach it to him with blue tac (it’s small so it should be able to stay).
For the shield…I can either blue tac it also or attach a string to it as well and loop it somehow.
Actually the best review about these figures. Other youtubers just keep saying they're pretty, sometimes not knowing the characters, and not saying anything about the issues concerning the accessories.
Thanks! That means a lot to me!
Most reviewers are fake poser fans and only here because pop culture has gone main stream. They're only here for the views, they don't actually know anything about anything. You can tell this reviewer is an actual fan and knows his shyt
You’re honestly the first channel I go to when it comes to these reviews you really go in depth in the comparison and know what you’re talking about not many other channels actually do research on these figures
Thank you, 😀that means a lot!
lurtz headsculpt on the diamond select is spot on!
Agreed!
As a bit Toybiz collector, it's a simple choice for me. Super poseable Toybiz Boromir, and Diamond Select Lurtz :)
I think that’s a pretty smart decision.
I did try putting Lurtz quiver up past his legs but got nervous I'd break it so put him under a hot tap and popped his ball joint torso off fine for an easier fitting. I also heated up his hand under the tap before attempting the bow grip.
Yeah I put Lurtz in hot water and did the same. Quick tip for those doing it…run the ball under cold water and it will pop back in much easier to the upper torso (when putting back together). Doing this is much safer than trying to scurry the pouch up over the legs. I didn’t want to break the strap.
I had already dumped my hot water before heating up the hand but I just used a piece of metal to wedge it open. It closed slowly enough I could get the bow in with no issues and now has a solid grip.
I also saw someone’s advice to pop off Boromir’s waist to put the horn of Gondor around it (hooking onto the little piece). The waist did pop off with no problem and then right back on (no heating required).
I may just use blue tac to put the shield on his back.
As for the sword and sheath it was very lazily done. I may just use blue tac for that as well. Either that or I’ll glue it to a piece of string…undo the torso again and just loop it around the center piece.
I’m really glad I’ll be able to complete the Fellowship soon (with Samwise) and even add Merry and Pippin. I was pleasantly surprised they did Boromir…as I kinda expected at some point there would be someone they wouldn’t get to.
Awesome review! I am just so curious on how boromirs cape fits on Aragorn as he looks so bare capeless
I just posted pics for you on my Instagram (NoSkillCustoms). But in case you’re not on insta- It fits him well, but it’s so rigid and sculpted so plainly that it only looks good when he’s standing still.
@@noskillcustoms thanks so much!
I really love your content, thanks for comparing them with Toybiz figures. I will keep my Toybiz Super Poseable Boromir but change my Lurtz with the Diamond Select one.
Also I'd like to see your full Toybiz collection with all those dioramas in 1 video. Hope you can do it😊 Greetings from Turkey.
Thanks so much! I plan on expanding and changing the dioramas, but I wanted to make sure that you saw I did a quick tour of my Lord of the Rings setups in this video:

Excuse me, I have a question, can you put the toybiz arrow on the Lurtz from Diamond select? I want to know if they fit well in your hand, why I see that the diamond arrows select are very small.
Yes, the bow fits very well. You can outstretched Lurtz’s left arm with the bow in it and his right hand can still hold the string to the bow. The Toy Biz arrows are too big to fit in the Diamond Select quiver, though.
You’re the first person on TH-cam that’s put the quiver correctly onto Lurtz lol. I’ve seen all kinds of configurations 😅
When in doubt, I always consult the movies!
Massive missed opportunity not including a generic uruk head with Lurtz. The two Lurtz heads are the same so I would have preferred a generic uruk head instead as I want to army build these. We have the army builder with the two towers armour but we need an army builder from the fellowship uruks like Toybiz did!
I tried telling them in my earlier video! I swear some of these places don’t like making money!
I was planning on buying both these figures to recreate boromir death scene but seeing how stiff his cape is, I'm worried that you can't have them on his knees. Is this possible or should I pass? 🤔
The cape is waaaay to stiff. Still a great figure- just his accessories are problematic. I’m trying to find a fabric material that flows nicely, but won’t fray at the edges-because the capes are important to me too. I’ll let you know if I find something.
I admittedly only started collecting the Toybiz line very late into it's lifespan. Most of it was Return of the King stuff.
I was more focused on collecting the Armies of Middle Earth toyline by Play Along Toys. They weren't really action figures because they were tiny figures almost like statues though some had maybe an arm or leg you could move.
But there were playsets like a Helms Deep that if you weren't foo fussed on posing figures I think they'd work as a small snapshot of scenes in a diorama setup. I don't have the figures and sets anymore a lot of stuff I got rid of years ago due to lack of space.
Anything I have left is basically my Star Wars and Marvel/DC stuff and all of them are stored away in the attic due to the lack of aforementioned space.
I someday hope I can collect again and watching a lot of channels like yours and everyone else in the 3.75 Star Wars community and 3.75 in general has been fun and makes me nostalgic for those days when I could collect and be a part of the fun. It also helps may stay informed as to what's going on so that if I do return I know what's been made and hasn't been made.
There's a lot of setup ideas I have it's just I can't pull them off right now so I have to live vicariously through everyone else and their great setups that are filled with imagination and a true display creativity of building things from scratch and shows you can make anything out of everything. Someday hopefully I will again be able to collect.
Anyway I think that's it for now but knowing me I've forgotten some stuff. Great video.
Thanks! My son has a pretty big collection of the AOME figures, plus a semi complete Helm’s Deep. I hope you get some display space someday!
@@noskillcustoms That's cool. Yeah me too.
Thanks for mentioning how you got Lurtz's quiver on, most reviews I've seen don't manage to do it, watching yours I took your advice and managed to get it to work on mine. I'm in the UK and saw that figure a few days ago in my local comic shop. I don't collect the Diamond Select line but I'm a sucker for Orc type characters, so I might have to go back and get some Moria Orcs and maybe an Uruk Hai soldier to flank Lurtz. My only problems with that figure are the limited head range I really wish he could look down, and the eye paint. I had to look through all the ones they had in that shop to find one where both heads were at least passable, but the best one still had an alternate head with a wonky left eye. Still, solid figure.
I'm sticking to only Orc characters, I don't need the heroes and honestly after watching this I'm glad, why are the heroes so much taller? The Moria Orcs being small I'm okay with, but the Uruk Hai and Lurtz especially I always saw as big imposing characters.
Yeah, I love me some orcs, too LOL. The eyes on my Lurtz look pretty decent and I haven’t seen them in stores yet so I have no idea how widespread the wonky eye problem is. My only guess on why the humans are so big is that perhaps they’re made by a different sculptor, but I’m just guessing.
Can you put the Helm's Deep Uruk head on the Lurtz body?
No- because nobody listens to me LOL. I suggested in one of my videos that they do that, but the Helm’s Deep Uruks have attached necks and Lurtz’s head is separate from his neck.
@@noskillcustoms Ah that is a shame, thought of getting multiple Lurtz figures, but i guess i will pass on him as i already have a ToyBiz Lurtz that looks fine for what i need it for. I did get four of the Helm's Deep Uruks.
I love that figure and had some fun with it here: th-cam.com/video/ChJZ_FqIWgE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7sFtTgH7DYJ9-LgE
