Listen to Simeon when he talks about the hamstrings. I do the exact same thing. I dedicate an entire workout to hamstrings. It will help tremendously with your squat development.
Its hard to do squats, i have a ligament problem... I can go heavy but it strains my knees, that and lunges, is thete another way to build huge legs that does not put too much pressure on your knees...
