The reason this game isn't some bullshit AAA title riddled with microtransactions because this was specifically under something called EA Originals; a program by EA, funding indie studios (like Hazelight, the creators of It Takes Two) to develop games and developers have full creative freedom in their games. Hazelight also made A Way Out, co-op only prison break game, one of my favourite games of all time

Stop the hype guys. Game is faking, don't buy. It is shit. The gameplay is awesome, but the thing they with the plot makes you puke after about 3 hours of gameplay. Anti-immersive. Developer was some-what movie director,scenarist, but failed oned. He later try his hands in games, got couply of goodies and now we have this. Plot there in non-sence, boring an has no point with typical hollywoond bright end where everybody learned something, but there was no problem to begin with. It is shallow.
Josef Fares does it again, the man we thought was just a meme at that point has done nothing but give out blockbuster titles in such simple ways. The man is a genius and an artist and he deserves respect.
I just wish more co-op games are like this. Kinda tired of playing competitive games like cod after playing them for so long, sometimes co-op makes the games why they are fun in the first place instead of competing e-sports tryhard

This game will always hold dear to my heart. My parents were getting divorced when this game came out. Watching the cutscenes and seeing people play the game really helped me out in that time. It really comforted me, I mean my parents were (and are) everything to me, I was scared as shit, but this game really calmed me down, showed me everything was going to be all right. I think this was the most deserving of game of the year, and I will always love it because it comforted me in the hardest time in my life. (So Far)

My girlfriend and I played this, and we both were sobbing blubbering messes by the end of it, it was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL experience and I’m so thankful I got to experience it with my partner
The only nitpick that I had was that the Love Book shouldn’t have been actively causing the problems to force the love out of them. Like for example, at the beginning, those two were about to make it to the collapsible stairs where their daughter was, but the Love Book just collapsed it instead of it naturally happening and then having the Love Book come out to say something like, “This is the chance to do it! This is the chance your love will show itself!” Or something like that. Either way, this game is still amazing and a great breather after all the crap we got recently.
The elephant getting bullied was very heart wrenching moment, two adults bullying an innocent being for their selfish sake. (Ive just finished chapter 3 and there a long way to go for me)

Here in Croatia we have one main videogame channel that actually rates the games properly and the developer of this game said to the youtuber that if he doesn't like the game he will give 1000$ each to every one of the people that works on the channel. Long story short no money was exchanged.

I would do anything in the world to experience this game for the first time again. my bf hates puzzle platformers and he was incredibly sceptical about going into it with me but it was one of the best experiences gaming holy shit I have nothing but praise for it
I totally agree, so overwhelming and diverse, it catches you at any level. There’s a great story and a wonderful progression with so many different interactions and pleasant distractions. I got fully immersed with my wife and surprised I was only at 10% progress after a full day of gaming. So relaxing yet very exciting, not to mentions the astonishing cinematic scenes. A real masterpiece.
I just finished this game with my SO. And I agree with pretty much everything you said, this game is amazing, and everyone needs to play it. Like you said, you can feel the passion behind the game. Something you didn't mention is ALOT of things are interactive, literally for the sole reason that it's fun. And that's how you know this was a passion project, you can stay away from the path and find some random button you can push or even some random thing you wouldn't think you can interact with, but you can, and it serves no purpose other than it's fun. I love it, Hazelight makes some amazing games.

I wish I had friends, I really do for games like this. It is very depressing being lonely, and knowing that it's just how it's going to be and there's something you can do about it but just don't. I dunno. Moments like this I wish I had people in my life
When I first heard about the plot for this game I thought it would be a co-op rom-com where 2 people fall back in love with each other with no regard for the reasons why they split up in the first place and you can predict it will go south the minute the credits role. I was proven wrong when I watched a playthrough of it. There was solid couple's advice, the characters are believable, and so is the reason they get back together. They look back on memories, help fix each other's problems, and learn from their experiences. This is a great game for couples.

My favorite part about this game was the bossfights. I usually like bossfights, but these were amazing! So creative.
I also loved the power-ups.
The dev is really flexing their gameplay mechanic coding skills here.

Here in Croatia we have one main videogame channel that actually rates the games properly and the developer of this game said to the youtuber that if he doesn't like the game he will give 1000$ each to every one of the people that works on the channel. Long story short no money was exchanged.
Bought the game because of this review. I did not regret it...

The Elefant part is the most heartbreaking I almost broke into tears, my wife definitely did. This is the Da Vinci version of a game.
i started playing this game today with my brother, we're currently in the bedroom and its been alot of fun! i agree that continuesly getting new tools/powers and stuff makes the game constantly active, its a really fun game, and the mini games make us laugh and the mood of the entire game and everything oh my godd, i love this game!!

I would do anything in the world to experience this game for the first time again. my bf hates puzzle platformers and he was incredibly sceptical about going into it with me but it was one of the best experiences gaming holy shit I have nothing but praise for it
I totally agree, so overwhelming and diverse, it catches you at any level. There’s a great story and a wonderful progression with so many different interactions and pleasant distractions. I got fully immersed with my wife and surprised I was only at 10% progress after a full day of gaming. So relaxing yet very exciting, not to mentions the astonishing cinematic scenes. A real masterpiece.
This game is a masterpiece. Amazing story, great characters, fantastic level design, great mechanics.
It’s literally a Pixar movie you control. So many feels in this game and truly deserves GOTY.

I just finished this game with my SO. And I agree with pretty much everything you said, this game is amazing, and everyone needs to play it.
Like you said, you can feel the passion behind the game. Something you didn't mention is ALOT of things are interactive, literally for the sole reason that it's fun. And that's how you know this was a passion project, you can stay away from the path and find some random button you can push or even some random thing you wouldn't think you can interact with, but you can, and it serves no purpose other than it's fun. I love it, Hazelight makes some amazing games.

Not to mention with all the heart there are so many Easter eggs including one from the other game that this creator put his heart and soul into
really hyped about this game, but i think the logic for taking off 5% is flawed. 5% off just because its not for everyone? By that logic to make the perfect game you have to make it pander to all audiences. Would you take off 5 points off a horror movie because not everyone likes horror movies?

I wish I had friends, I really do for games like this. It is very depressing being lonely, and knowing that it's just how it's going to be and there's something you can do about it but just don't. I dunno. Moments like this I wish I had people in my life
When I first heard about the plot for this game I thought it would be a co-op rom-com where 2 people fall back in love with each other with no regard for the reasons why they split up in the first place and you can predict it will go south the minute the credits role. I was proven wrong when I watched a playthrough of it. There was solid couple's advice, the characters are believable, and so is the reason they get back together. They look back on memories, help fix each other's problems, and learn from their experiences. This is a great game for couples.
