Last Of Us 3 Plot leaked Abby gets an infection from being stabbed so many times in dirty water. Abby dies. Rest of the game is just flashbacks on how the water came to be dirty.
The "revenge is bad" angle doesn't even work with this game because the person who gets revenge gets to walk away with a loved one, whereas the person who gives up on it loses everything.
yea, people hate the ending because Ellie wanted revenge and could have gotten it, but Abby took SOOOO MUCH of Ellie. Abby went out of her way to go and try and kill Ellie, Dina, Jesse and Tommy, almost kills Dina, kills Jesse, then has the fucking nerve to say "Dont let me ever see you again" bro wtf???????
Holy snap that's true, i didn't even make that connection, the entire message of the game is thrown in the garbage at the end because of that, jesus christ what a horrible narrative
Things like this in games and movies annoy me. Especially in horror movies, there are often moments where people just don't give information that can potentially change the villain's perspective
I mean would it have changed anything? I knew that and it didn't make me want to kill Abby any less, doubt Ellie would've just squashed the beef after realizing he "had it coming" lmao
@@beanzuwu yeah right. Arthur's horse died and he stopped to say goodbye to it while being fired at and close to death where Ellie and Dina never talk about it again

Price and yuri chasing makarov up the hotel and sparing makarov despite him being the reason why literally everyone of his friends is dead. Cuz revenge bad. You think Price was thinking of all the people he killed leading up to that moment? No he wasn't.
Imagine playing through the game expecting an epic death for Joel, only to have a girl kill him with a Manscaped Lawnmower 3.0 that she got on sale from charlie's sponsor.
Honestly I think he didn't even have to go out epicly but at least have him be in character for it. The entire plot point is so contrived here and just about every party is a complete idiot during it all. The lead up to his death contradicts so much of what we know of him and doesn't do anything positive for his character at all so it feels hollow, pointless to a degree, and hateful.
@@bigchungus7050 Pretty much everyone expected Joel to die, but the situation leading to his death doesn't match his character at all. >Joel is a cautious man who is very experienced with ambushes, so much so that he can spot one in an instant in the first game >Joel doesn't trust anyone, he even scolds Ellie for giving out her name to Sam and Henry in the first game >Joel knows that he didn't kill all the fireflies in the first game, and that they knew who he and his brother are >Despite this he doesn't use an alias, and he gives his name out to complete strangers >He also lets his guard down entirely around a group of armed strangers, instead of keeping his back to a wall or staying near a door, he stands in the middle of the room >Despite Jackson having bandit attacks, Tommy tells this group of strangers where they live and inviting them to come get supplies >After Joel says his name the entire room goes quiet and tense >Instead of decades of survival instincts kicking in and having Joel fight or flight, he awkwardly says they act like they've heard of him >Tommy is literally positioned where he should see Abby getting the shotgun, yet he doesn't say a word until after Joel has been shot and falls The writing is fucking awful.
Could’ve expanded on how their relationship changed and adjusted seeing them her struggle with forgiveness seeing how much joel loves Ellie like WHY DID WE NOT FOCUS ON JOEL AND ELLIE AGAIN then last of us 3 concludes the story after joel dies at the end of 2 or something
That episode where Mr. Krabs accuses squidward of stealing his dime and squidward going homeless because of it, living in a cardboard box made me sad. TLOU2 however, I felt nothing
I'm just saying if it was Ellie who died Joel would've beat Abby to a pulp before tossing her into a horde of clickers then proceed to wipe out the Wolves.
That actually would have been a very solid revenge story. Joel kills Abby's father and then Abby kills Joel's surrogate daughter and they proceed to wipe each other out until they've lost everything. Would have driven the 'revenge is bad' motif way better than this shit game.
Oh, but some of them do have names, evidenced by the fact that their friends scream out their names when you shoot them to make you feel bad about yourself.
Idk how the writers thought it made sense for ellie to go on a murdering rampage in Seattle and when she got to abby she just didnt have the balls to kill her
I thought of it as when Ellie finally got her goal right in front of her, her revenge rage and adrenaline wore off and finally realized what she had done to get to her, and her leaving her to live was less “I’m being noble” and more “what’s the point?” I’m only hearing these pieces from spoilers, I haven’t played the game yet, and according to a lot of people’s opinions, I could still be let down

That would still make a better story than this mess of a game, especially with Dave Filoni directing it! Also, there is kind of a story like that in the Star Wars universe. A kid's father is killed during a crossfire with rebels and The Empire. The kid grows up, joins the Empire then kills a man after the man kills his commander, then is shot by the little girls father. The cycle will then continue and brings the stormtrooper peace and a smile when he looks at the little girl.

I think the main issue is that Abby was absolutely shoehorned. I would've been okay with a few playable segments but they hammered you over the head with her. Even gave her the most exciting and interesting sequences of the game to Abby instead of ELLIE ! After 7 years, Ellie felt sidelined..
Not only that. They made it so that you wouldn't like playing as her. By day 3 I was kind of liking her then you are forced to fight Ellie. By the time I was in Santa Barbara with Abby and Lev I was just done with playing as her.
This. This is my problem with the game. They really want to subvert your expectations and make Abby grow on you, but the entire time I felt like it was so obvious they didn't even try to hide it, i was just so bored with her segments.
Shoehorned? It’s not Ellie’s game with parts of Abby, it’s about Abby and Ellie. Ellie absolutely wasn’t sidelined. She has like half the game, and likely more time than Abby considering Santa Barbra.
Kinda an uncomfortable theme given the writer/director pulled some Weinstein shit at the company. Gee, I fucking wonder *why* he'd be insistent on the villain getting away with their horrible actions and the people wanting them to pay for their crimes are treated as the bad guy.

This comparison would only make sense if the six-fingered man had a reason for the terrible things he'd done, and Inigo's quest for revenge had stripped away most of his humanity and positive memories of his father, and the six-fingered man had spared Inigo's life twice, and right before killing the man he hates most in the world Inigo had realized that one more dead body wouldn't bring his father back from the dead.

*EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION AND EXTRA INFO, CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR RDR AND RDR2* RDR 1 and 2 did "revenge is wrong" better. Arthur Morgan(RDR2 main protagonist) told John Marston to "ride away and never look back". In other words, to find a new life and to not return to the past, a past of trouble, stress, and violence. He unfortunately decides to find and kill Micah, after he destroyed the Van Der Linde gang and killed. Killing Micah led Edgar Ross to John Marston which would result in all the shit in RDR and eventually Marston's death at the hands of the government. He could've stayed out of criminal business and just taken care of the ranch with Abigail and Jack, and done bounties with Sadie Adler or something. Instead he ends up with his family taken by the government and hunting down his old gang members. And for what? The satisfaction of killing Micah Bell? I hate Micah but he could've just waited for him to get hypothermia up in the mountains or just ignored him. The only good thing that comes from this revenge is Dutch Van Der Linde leaving John a good amount of money. Jack Marston, John's son, hunts down Edgar Ross, the Detective Agent who manipulated and betrayed John, and kills him, which is exactly what John did not want. He is now very likely a wanted man, he was in the area and looking for Ross, and a few people are told about this by Jack himself. Hopefully Jack is able to escape the consequences. A GTA Easter egg implies that he did, but that's an entirely different universe. Another way it's done very well is that it's not shoved down our throats. It's a present theme but it isn't really always hovering above us.
They shouldve done that with this game. Have Ellie kill Abby and then reveal at the end of the game that Lev is tracking down Ellie to kill her for revenge. Would have given the same message but much better and more cathardic
I was gonna comment that. But let me add to it. Arthur told John to run away and never look back, John blinded by revenge did the opposite by killing Micah, which led Ross to finding out the Marston is still active, Ross blackmailed John, betrayed him, killed him, and in the end, Jack Marston, who both John and Arthur DIED so they could prevent Jack from becoming like them, became like them. It's really tragic when you think about it.
Those PlayStation disks are the weirdest things ever- you can bend them and they won’t be damaged at all but once you put a pair of scissors to them they turn into butter. I learned this from purchasing the last of us 2
Imagine Taken if Liam Neeson found his daughter after torturing and killing all those mobsters but then decided to just go home and let his daughter be a sex slave because he realized that “revenge is bad.”
Poor comparison. Mills wasn't going for revenge, he was trying to rescue his daughter. 'Taken 2' dealt with revenge themes but it was forgettable flick.
Honestly, if they pulled off this "revenge is bad" theme in a nuanced way, this could've been the Citizen Kane of video games. Part of me admires them for going for the big haul. Too bad video game developers have the storytelling ability as a down syndrome Michael Bay

the gameplay aspect of the game is amazing in my opinion, I love the stealth and such. But the story is NOTHING compared to the first game, and it was honestly the first game to thoroughly piss me off at the end.
Agreed. Genuinely some of the best stealth sections since MGS 5. I do also like the story though, the characters are consistently written and the narrative makes a lot of thematical sense

This game’s messages have the subtlety of a shotgun. Everything is so blatantly shoved in your face that the story loses all it’s emotion before it’s even over.
sounds like a Jordan Peele movie. "RACISM IS BAAAAAD!" "NOT EVERYONE STARTS OUT EQUAL" and the audience is like, "no shit." Kinda patronizing to treat the obvious messages like that as prophetic.
So the point of the game is to murder a bunch of innocent, unnamed people but when you find the person you’re trying to get revenge on you just let them live...making all those other deaths meaningless...and everything in the game meaningless... *Storytelling*
The innocent unnamed people kill you if you don’t kill them. Abby, did not kill you when she could have even after Ellie kills her friends. What Ellie needs is not to kill Abby but to forgive Joel and stop the cycle of violence.
@@itsbreadwinner I mean... he does KIND of finally admit armstrong has a point, hence the ending implying he's gonna go off and fix the world "His way". Still kills armstrong though, because otherwise the whole thing would LITERALLY have been pointless.
I think this game was too ambitious for its own good. The separate narratives converging and the shifting of perspectives were both interesting ideas but their execution was lacking. It would have been better if the story was told chronologically, alternating between Ellie and Abby, instead of reaching the climax then rewinding three days. I get that we were supposed to get the gratification from revenge and then realize that the cost was greater than the fulfilment, but I never felt bad for killing Abby's friends because I didn't get to know them first. I also found it impossible to connect with Abby's friends during her section because I already knew they were dead. The only death that impacted me at all was Manny's, and that's no coincidence because we didn't see him die hours ahead of time. Also, I know they were trying to draws parallels between Joel/Ellie and Abby/Lev but I just didn't buy it. Joel and Ellie bonded over an entire year during a trip across the U.S. and it took them a while to even be open to caring for each other. Abby hangs out with Lev for less than 3 days, abandons the WLF that helped her survive for years, and is saying stuff like, "You're my people!" That just wasn't believable and didn't really work in my opinion. This franchise is a prime example of "less is more." Part 1's story is not nearly as complex as Part 2's. There was too much to remember/care about in the sequel. The original (and Left Behind) were tighter, more focused stories that were much easier to connect with. All that said, the leaks spoiled some of this story for me before launch. I still played it twice to experience it for myself in context. I'll never know how I would have felt about this game if I went in completely blind. I'm not sure if I would have liked it more or less than I do now. That's my take on the story but everything else in this game is fantastic, so I can't give this game too low a score either. However, since the main selling point of this game is the narrative, I can't give it a very high score either. I couldn't agree more with 55%.
Also plot armor and plot conveniences. Especially HOW IN HELL A WOUNDED ELLIE MANAGES TO GET A DYING DINA AND TOMMY AND POSSIBLY JESSE'S CORPSE ALL THE WAY FROM SEATTLE, WASHINGTON TO JACKSON, WYOMING. No gameplay segment of it. No explanation. Apparently it doesn't matter. What a gotcha moment. Bottomline that's just it. The game is full of gotcha moments, you can't really take the story seriously.
@@memecliparchives2254 In the first part of the game Abby's group could have ended Ellie but chose not to for the sake of plot and in the final part Ellie has no reason not to let Abby die on that post. This game absolutely has plot conveniences like you said 100%.
Remember that scene in Tommy Wiseaus' 'The Room' where Claudette says "I have cancer", it has nothing to do with the story and is never brought up again?.. Thats what TLOU2 is like...
Imagine this. The game starts of with you as a Abby, the story is framed as a revenge story of finding who killed her family or whatever, just some basic plot that is not uncommon to games. Joel and Ellie aren't mentioned at all. For the first section, all of the gameplay is with Abby. The Last of Us 2 is framed as a story completely different and independent from the first game, fooling the player the Last of Us is more of anthology series on survivors in the post-apocalypse rather than one whole story. You learn more about Abby, and become more attached to her character and past, as you have to Joel and Ellie. You play through like 5 hours of normal exploring, piecing together clues and following a trail of this mystery man who killed your family. Then, you come across Joel all of a sudden in the wilderness, work together to survive a horde. Hopefully making you think "Pretty cool that they did a cameo for Joel from the last game" but think nothing more of it. Then he introduces himself, and the story plays out as it did in this game, with both protagonists killing each others friends and family slowly, hurting characters you've built relationships with and cared about the whole game(s). I think that framing provides a more gripping story about revenge and actually teaches the lesson of it clearly, seeing as you may have actually cared about the the characters before they died. And this way, you actually empathize with Abby more, rather than just hating her outright from the get-go.
Yeah, that thing you just did? We call that a second draft, something that takes the first draft and fixes quite a few mistakes and reworks things so it's viable. You're not the first one to do this and you're not gonna be the last, because this was never given that treatment before they started charging money for it. TLOU2 was a rough draft presented as a final product and it shows, doesn't it?
So if they pulled an MGS2 and the story was more predictable then people would be less mad? I really don’t think so. The way it was structured seemed deliberately designed to provoke the most visceral emotion. What you call “gripping” might’ve seemed more cliche and harder to pace than what Naughty Dog was going for. I think we all would know Joel was the one Abby was looking for, so there’s no point drawing that out for 5 hours. I really don’t see that reveal carrying much weight at all just by trying to pretend that her story was unrelated to the first game. If we empathize with Abby from the beginning, her redemption arc would be much more predictable and Ellie’s choice at the end would be much more obviously spelled out as the “correct” one. I don’t think anyone who wasn’t spoiled could’ve seen any of the events coming. I’m so glad they didn’t go the pandering route with just another Joel and Ellie adventure with a touch of revenge for added drama. I’m glad this game is inspiring so many people to see if they could take a crack at laying out a better story. Its interesting its like seeing the bargaining phase if grief play out in the comments section.
@@Solidsnaik This wasn't the well thought out masterpiece you think it is. TLOU2's basis is in a rejected TLOU1 plot, now commonly known as the Tess Hunts Joel plot, that was thrown out by then-director Bruce Straley. Like any other entitled artist who thinks they are incapable of anything less than perfection, instead of accepting that it didn't work and letting it die, Neil Druckmann reworked that rejected plot into a new game, without care to address the issues of *why* it was rejected and thus creating new issues along the way. Worse yet is that his attempt at ruining the characters of Ellie and Joel was just an attempt to totally torch the franchise out of childish spite because, despite rejecting his plot, the original game succeeded overwhelmingly, showing they were *right* to reject it. It's not intentionally going for the emotions you're thinking of: The writer IS just that bad. If they weren't they wouldn't have kept firing employees for picking up on that "visceral reaction" and not liking Abby.(Yes, people lost their jobs because they didn't like Neil Druckmann's OC meant to replace Joel and Ellie)

Josh Wiseman I thought maybe they were going to capture Joel, take him to firefly HQ and Ellie tracks them, and then maybe Joel dies in a gunfight but this? No , that's just bad writing. They went through all that effort to find Joel just to kill him? And not to even ask about Ellie? The only source of a cure? They just forgot all about that stuff apparently.
Considering they hired a feminist magazine writer as one of the main writers for the story plot, this garbage is to be expected. Also one of the higher ups heavily watched over them and forbid them to "allow the player to damage any jewish things". You can't make this up. You literally can't shoot anything important in the jewish church. This is virtue signalling the game, milking the title and actively shitting down the fans' throats.

Say what you want, but you gotta praise the balls they had to do this
*EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION AND EXTRA INFO, CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR RDR AND RDR2*
RDR 1 and 2 did "revenge is wrong" better.
Mr Pirate redemption is in the name I expect that it would be better than this
Ross used the fuck out of John though :(
They shouldve done that with this game.

@@TheInvincibleEmotion i know people say she isnt trans but how can that be havent all these people seen her chest
Imagine this.
The game starts of with you as a
Abby, the story is framed as a revenge story of finding who killed her family or whatever, just some basic plot that is not uncommon to games.

There zombies were a real fuckin' threat to the story. Here, they are kinda just there, watching Ellie kill a hundred people all in the name of reve- Oh wait. Revenge got thrown out of the window, because it's ''bad''.
Wait this is a zombie game?
I'm sorry I forgot this was a zombie game...
@@maxgarcia8019 yeah but the zombies of the last of us were unique when i hear a clicker in the game i piss my pants
@@maxgarcia8019 well we will never know
I don’t consider this so called “Sequel” canon it’s a terrible Fanfiction. The Last of Us never had a Sequel and never will have a Sequel that’s final.
Tucker Johnston Until people realize they want a sequel anyway Like people are begging for a sequel like eventually we got the Incredibles two like I heard people want a sequel to the Incredibles until they got a sequel for the last of us it’s kind of a mix opinion of wtf
What sequel? There is no sequel, don't know what you all are talking about
@@thatman7159 I'm talking about the incredibles
KevinGame3 incredibles 2 did right to its characters and fans. this “sequel” is a slap to the face and kick to the balls to anyone that likes LOU series.
And of course we're waiting for horizon 2
Imagine Wolfenstein finding the nazi war general and not killing him.
And you also have to play the nazi war general for half the game
Imagine going to fucking venus to kill Hitler and when you're there you just let him bite off your fingers and then let him go because "you're better than him and an endless cycle of revenge will go nowhere"
Imagine Far Cry 5.
No one:
Americans in that game: Are we the baddies?
@@george4111 yeah it'd be nice to play as the good guys for once lol
You know shit is real when there’s emotion in charlie’s voice
So true
as someone who doesn't like TLOU 2 this is more of a rant than a review lol
I agree with him though
Shouldn't the plot have been about Ellie's immunity and how they can do something with it without killing her? Or about humanity trying to reclaim the earth? It's like they forgot about the whole fungal disease that fucked up the entire earth.
they kept bringing up the immunity and then didn’t do anything with it
It's just like real life. Social justice is more important for these people than a virus literally killing hundreds of thousands.
@GATOBAM I think they know the origin, wasn't it some plant in South America? It was mentioned in the first game if i'm not mistaken.
@@AvesZephyros Yeah it's a real life fungus that takes controls of bugs. There's a real life documentary they took inspiration from.
WishYouWereHere well, let’s not say hundreds of thousands. American doctors receive government cash for diagnosing patients with COVID even if there is no testing. I can’t speak for other nations, but America’s numbers are horribly inflated. COVID is not this fungal plague.
