    Oba Akintoye was not Egba, i don't know where you get some of this twists from.
    Oba Akitoye was a son of Ologun kutere so he's an eko royal. He's literally Oba Kosokos and was displaced by kosoko before regaining his throne with the help of the British.
    Oba Akitoye only sought refuge in abeokuta for a while

    Please I have a question 🤔
    The other details you mentioned e.g. the event that happened in Calabar, is it related to why Lagos was annexed?

    Nice history, loved it and very educational, but I have a big problem with the account/ pictorial of the flow of the River Niger. It flows all the way from the Futa jallon mountains in Guinea down to the Niger Delta, not the other way up as shown in the pictorial. Please make that correction urgently,it's basic geography. Thanks all the same for the history, very good.

    The British are pretty dam good at conquest

    • @igbotimehopper64yearsago46

      @Tara Jack yet that conquered 1/4th of the planet a gun is just another took for war like a knife

    • @igbotimehopper64yearsago46
      @igbotimehopper64yearsago46 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tara Jack the ottomans where weak because they did not adapt or take advantage of morden technologies to keep there empire. They where defeated by "Italy" (yes the country who could not conquer a relatively primitive empire because they adapted and began to use guns) in the italo Turkish war.

    • @igbotimehopper64yearsago46
      @igbotimehopper64yearsago46 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tara Jack there knowledge makes them strong, the fact that they adapted a Chinese technology to make one of the must powerful weapons in human history and then used that weapon the conquer is why they are strong

    • @igbotimehopper64yearsago46
      @igbotimehopper64yearsago46 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tara Jack I mean I can understand them being ashamed of their ancestors having a hand in slavery and all but I do believe that they should be proud that there ancestors were able to conquer most of the planet. And yea they are all weak now because they decided to go to war and destroy it all (there empires)

    Thanks to Ronu creative for the great work. I am so Ignorant about the history of my nation. Please (abeg, ejo,biko) kindly subscribe, share this video on facebook ,Twitter, Instagram and snapchat. Please, don't forget to join patron group www.patreon.com/ronucreative and pledge (owo,ego,kudi). Good job Prof. Kartel.
    Lastly, pick a time to watch the videos with your kids. I think education is incomplete with the absence of basic history. Just my opinion.

    Bros keep quite. The Oba of Benin deposed Kosoko for refusing to stop slave trade. This was actually the beginning of Benin problem with British.

    • @SL-pg4dh

      I don’t think this man is a Yoruba guy at all. I’ve been watching him butcher all Yoruba words he’s come in contact with, with zero regard for discrimination. He is either one of the minorities ethnicity, or he is Yoruba born and raised abroad.
