I'm so glad they played Free Your Mind by En Vogue. That girl group deserve their flowers. It is crazy the younger generation only knows Spice Girls, Destiny's Child, and TLC. But it was En Vogue who reinvented the girl group world in the music industry.
I say this all the time, and was so happy to hear Free Your Mind in the trailer! The original lineup of Cindy, Terri, Dawn and Maxine was iconic to me as a kid.
@luckapucka2310 The TH-cam comment section sadly shows how people fail to take a breath and check their facts. The two reactions to my Comments sharing that the KARDASHIAN kids were not part of 90s Culture have not taken the seconds it took me to verify that the KARDASHIANS were nowhere near Fashion and Culture until late 2006 and late 2007 ; not the 90s.
The 90s was a very big moment that changed the industry and how a rise of power in which one woman an icon to the fashion industry changed to how we see or feel about the today for in this case a woman that is the most read magazine in the world
Thank you so much, Vogue, for this documentary. I just turned 40, and it reminded me of the sense of freedom I felt in the ’90s. The decade was our teenager years. I remember buying second-hand clothes, jeans, and jumpers, painting them with shimmering silver and gold, and wearing them to school. Everyone was so unique and individual back then.
Why is Kim there.. please this woman has nothing to do with 90s🤦🏻♀️ If anyone should be talking about the 90s it’s Linda, Claudia, Naomi, Nadja, Christy, Stephanie, Tatjana, Helena or Cindy
Her voice is important as she represents how things looked from afar - from a fashion fan’s perspective. Today she’s involved with the fashion milieu but in the 90s, she was a little girl watching and seeing what was going on. Those in the rest of the docuseries were heavy players in the fashion world - she was a kid watching. That’s how her contribution perfectly fits in this. 😎
In episode 6, Fabien Baron claimed that CK One was the first unisex fragrance. It most certainly is not. Decades before that there were many many others: 4711, Guerlain's Eau de Cologne Du Coque, Balenciaga's Ho Hang, and YSL's Eau Libre to name a few.
Please Kim K yesterday’s news doesn’t belong in this 90’s tribute. Just look at her gauche choices. And to even believe she could do the MM dress justice !!!??? She ruined a beautiful gown …there was a good amount of money exchanged for that journey.
People use the end of the era way too loosely, but the day Ana leaves Vogue, it will truly be the end of an era. On another topic, The September Issue is one of my favorite movies/docus and the 90s is just the best decade, so this documentary is going to be explosive.
They have Vogue cover models, which means any celebrities or fashion models who were on the covers is interviewed for this. Kim sadly was a cover model for an issue of Vogue.
The KARDASHIANS were not part of the 90s, AT ALL. WHY did you have kim kardashian in this? What does she have on Vogue? Argh... the 90s was an awesome decade because it was 99% Reality TV free. How we miss those days.
@@anonamouse.p4115I think they included Kim because she was a teenager in the 90s so that decade had an affect on her. Also, she does have a following so if you put her on a show then some of her fans will automatically watch it.
I haven't watched yet but I hope there is discussion about how the 90s actually ruined fashion! And I'm not talking about magazines I'm talking about the actual industry and the work..... especially in New York.

Ironic that they use a load of TV/pop celebs to promote this when 90s fashion was the last period that models were picked because they were actual models
I just finished the whole thing and KK brought NOTHING to the table besides fangirling about everything to seem nice , realteable or sympathetic which just made it pathetic. Hard to watch. The rest was a blast. Although a big advertisement ride for vogue…

i hope this appears on other platforms. I was an avid Vogue readers in the 90s. It was such an exciting time for fashion and culture in general.

@rhiannonh.7463 Kim was not part of 90s Culture at all. It was awesome and FREE of Reality TV swindlers!
No mention of QUEEN MADONNA…..Gurl 🙄 she was in every publication of every month of VOGUE magazine throughout the entirety of the 90s.
She's in episode 1 and is mentioned substantially.
Watch it before ranting! A good part of the first episode, only one I have seen, has a big part dedicated to M.

Money money mollah.... hahhaa
Of course they were. Kardashian senior defended OJ. He and his wife were right up there.
@Kate-lk6tw ANNA WINTOUR's VOGUE did not cover the trial of OJ Simpson and KEEPING UP did not start until October 2007, again not the 90s.
She most likely paid to be included. Her thirst can never get sated.
