    I personally had a nearly two year period of progressively worsening psychosis that was triggered/exacerbated by psychedelics and daily marijuana use. After a full psychotic break that landed me in the hospital, I don't think I'll ever be able to return to psychedelics again. Breaks my heart, really, but when you go from "everything is connected, how beautiful" to "OH NO EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED," it's hard to imagine going back.

    • @nofacee94
      @nofacee94 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nah that's all fucked, the psychosis is not unexpected considering the marijuana nowadays is much stronger than it used to be.

      It was probably due to over doing the mushrooms and weed but who knows. I won't touch weed but I may micro dose on mushrooms other than that yeah if I over do it with just mushrooms I get sick. Not sure if they are for me but I still want to mico dose to see if my depression will go away.

      @@mariahconklin4150 ah yes well that makes more sense, I can't touch mushrooms because I have schizophrenia, for sure it would send me psychotic and I'd end up in mental hospital. I smoke cannabis daily and I'm finding it hard to quite smoking because of it. I don't know. I'm on the lowest dose medication so maybe this will be enough from stopping me having another episode. However, I don't have hallucinations or delusions in my daily life so I'm lucky, but I haven't touched anything stronger than cannabis so maybe that's why.

      Well of course you were doing them daily and that's never good to do but I get it! I was starting to get addicted to weed and stopped once I got a bad sinus infection. Went out one night had two beers then had a 50 mg eddible hours later and hated it I don't think I can ever go back to weed it sucks if I do I need to go to a low dosage. Same with Psychadelics I need to stop taking them I've been taking them every other weekend now and it's way too much. But they are so amazing in moderation it's just that I'm addicted to many things so I need to stop doing them. It sucks though but we are both probably better off.

    I have Bipolar and I participated in a psilocybin healing ceremony. It was a safe space where there was multiple people watching us who took the psilocybin. It was an incredibly challenging but much needed experience. Just because healing is painful doesn’t mean that you’re not healing. It helped me be more communicative and allowed me to experience a wide variety of perspectives that I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. I also had the opportunity to work on my previous sexual trauma and was able to actually talk about it with those I care about. I want to do another ceremony but the only thing is that I’m on an anticonvulsant and an antipsychotic. The antipsychotic would likely kill the psychedelic experience, but I’m unsure.

      @@stpeta17 (I want to say sorry for the long reply beforehand. I got really excited talking about this and I couldn’t stop typing.)
      I’m a part of a local plant medicine discussion group and met a person who was conveniently hosting a ceremony soon after I went to the first meeting. They hosted these ceremonies because they really enjoyed the process and helping people. I mean, I payed them about $25 that they asked from me just to pay for some of the food and supplies they provided. They weren’t trying to make money off of this. It wasn’t with a huge group or anything (just two people who were sober and guiding us and two of us who were on the medicine). But they did amazing that night. The one hosting the ceremony had so much knowledge on how to guide people on the medicine and really made me feel safe. This person also knew reiki and had various musical instruments. They used both to really help me through some rough spots. I was skeptical of reiki, crystals, and healing instruments at first before taking the medicine, but while on psilocybin, it was revolutionary. Also the other person taking the medicine said that they were psychic and again, I was skeptical. But during the ceremony, it was almost as if this person knew what I was thinking before I even recognized it myself. Without me telling them anything about my traumas, they were able to tell me very specific details about what all had happened to me. We basically just had a conversation where I would think something and they’d respond out loud. It felt as though that was the way that we were always meant to communicate. It was truly a beautiful experience. So anyways, joining a community that really has a deep love, respect and appreciation for all plant medicines is a great way to get access to opportunities that would’ve normally never been available to you. Plus, you get to meet and connect with others who have just as strong of a passion for plant medicine as you. I was told by the host that normally big groups hosting ceremonies don’t allow people with Bipolar to participate unless they meet certain strict requirements for safety and wellness reasons. There isn’t enough research on the topic so most groups take the “better safe than sorry” approach. But this person really believed that this opportunity would be healing for me. So they took a chance and I really appreciate that. I’m also no longer on the antipsychotic medication because my psychiatrist is trying out a few different medications with me. I would love the opportunity to do another ceremony again, but I’m waiting until the time feels right and to figure out what my intentions for the experience would be.

      @@stpeta17 btw, I no longer take antipsychotics. My psychiatrist has been trying some different meds on me because the Abilify was causing me to gain a lot of weight. I tried Wellbutrin but it caused me to go into a four day long rage. He made me take a break after that from other medications and I became pretty depressed. He’s put me on a new antidepressant at a very low dosage but nothing’s changed except for feeling more tired and more depressed. I haven’t been in a great place mentally for a while now. I felt a lot better after my previous ceremony but I’m not sure if it was a one-off thing or if it would be a possible treatment option. I’ll see if anyone is hosting another ceremony anytime in the future, and if they let me participate, I’ll try to reply with an update on how I feel afterwards. The last ceremony was incredibly challenging to get through, so it’s not something I’m taking lightly. I just want to find peace within myself.

Had a pretty big acid trip awhile back and it made me really re-prioritize everything in my life, though I managed to keep it in an honest and positive way with myself. Since then it's been the reverse of before, where most of life is positive with little spikes of negative. Not a thing to play with, but it can help if one let's it (themselves).

    It seems like all of the studies and discussions I've seen in a cursory set of google searches seem to focus on psilocybin trips instead of microdosing (not inducing hallucinogenic effects or using large doses). I'm VERY curious to know why studies would be focusing on the benefits of such large quantities when it's possible that microdosing it alone could provide benefits. In my opinion microdosing should be a bigger focus of these kinds of studies to see how it can benefit more people more quickly and THEN perhaps studying the effects of larger doses.

It isn’t uncommon for a patient with Bipolar ll Depression to be misdiagnosed as having depression for that very reason. Such an experience can help to unveil a more accurate diagnosis.

    Hi,
    Thanks for taking about the subjekt.
    I have bipolar disorder (2) and my struggle with depressiv episodes have been hell.
    I have taken both Psilocybin and Lsd and it helped me alot. I took 6 gram of mushroom and aprox 320 microgram of lsd.
    My depression on this two serperate time did fade out for 3-4 weeks. After this time my mood went back to a state of depression.

    Re Lexapro and psilocybin, Lexapro if working at potential is going to reduce serotonin receptors so it *should* blunt psilocybin, but it's no shock that a short term use wouldn't given it takes 4+ weeks to start working. For my own experience, once on Lexapro for 3 months 5g gave me a slight body high and two weeks later 30g gave me a slight body high. Shortly after detoxing from Lexapro, 5g from the exact same batch was a full blown trip. I'm convinced that the level of blunting is determined by how effectively the SSRI has reduced signaling.

    • @ericj1731
      @ericj1731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd also add to the above that Lexapro at 10 and later 20mg did nothing for depression itself but felt like an emotional straightjacket and had pretty intense side effects for me so somebody reacting well to Lexapro could be an entirely different dynamic.

    Actually hate is a form of love. It's just a very dense and crude form of love. Think of it as an ice cube which starts at a solid then it melts and it can evaporate and turn into a gas. It's all love.
    Solid - Hate
    Liquid - Conventional Love
    Gas - Divine Infinite Unconditional Love
