Hi Carrie. I felt the same visual clutter when I was given a couple of bags full of 20+ year old sock yarn. No real damage to them, but I didn't trust them enough for socks. I divided them into two piles - beige/browns/etc and the grays/reds/navy/etc. They looked so much better and within a day, I was crocheting mini throws. All gone now. Hope that helps.
I wish I could do that, I think if I had some mid sized bins I could make it visually work. But I don't want more bins that I will only use for a short time.
It always makes me so excited for u to see the progress;re-Tetris; new ideas for 2025!! My OCD heart wants to come match cakes into hanks for u lol I’m always the mastermind behind a good 3 person 2 lb ball of yarn barf undoing. Can’t wait to see what you do in the next few months! Well, ofc it’s angora, cuz dah-link it’s angora lol ❤🎉
I love it! It is why I understand why everyone has been about the mohair life the last few years. I wore the daylights out of the angora sweater I had. Mine was cream.
Wow that's awesome that you got deep stash out!! I'm with you with the clutter cubes. I'm afraid that I would just donate because that would drive me nuts. 🤪
I just don't want to invest in baskets I won't have after a year... I think by the end of the year I will be able to focus on the stuff that doesn't look good in my room. It is what I had done before, but man I wish I had gone through these bins sooner! LOL!
@HappyCraftyHomemaker you're way more organized than I. I over bought for making boggy blankets a year ago and am still working my way through it. Of course I got great deals so there's that.😉
I feel you on the double stacked yarn! I have that problem with my shelf of fat quarters. Still trying to figure that one out, but I thought having some baskets would make it easier to move things around. Just finding the right size for what I need is tricky. I feel better when I can see everything as well.
Hi Carrie, thank you for doing these taming your stash videos, I love them. I need to tame down my wips this year. I'm knitting a scarf, just a basic garter stitch one with some beautiful hand dyed yarn using up some mini's. I'm also crocheting an arrow stitch blanket with my advent yarn. Enjoy your day x
Hi Carrie! I need to rearrange my yarn room too! So many things to put away and find homes for! I was wondering, what is the pink and green yarn on top of the Payton's Venus yarn? Is it a Noro?
Love the stash! 😘🤗❤️
Thank you!!
Fabulous stash😍
Thank you! Hopefully by the end of the year I will have it back to visually manageable.
Orphans definitely get donated!! I am not patient enough to wait until I find the perfect project for them .
I can't donate one glove or one sock... I will just put them in the middle of a dryer ball. They are feltable.

It is so funny, normally I have control of the visuals, but getting everything visible now means that I have a MESS on my eyes at hand.
Gosh that angora yarn is beautiful 😍 brings back memories of my angora sweater. The exact same pink! ❤

The kitties really wanted to be with you today, following you from room to room. The angora yarn was a great find.
They were all about me that day!

I still loved it all! I don't want to get rid of it!
Cube baskets? They help me in mine👍

I'd pick an irritating bin and start making things that make me happy with it
Putting it in a bin is how I ended up with so much of it. I think I will just go there first this year to find things to work from.

I think if I look to those areas first for new makes, I might be able to kind of fix it up just a little. It is super blocking for me!!
RE the Hobbii cotton:
It was gremlins...
(Just go with it)
Have a great day. 🐞
LOL!!! It is a whole kit of it! I know where the stylecraft came from... not the hobbii...

It can be a lot when we love what we are doing! February is working down WIPs and UFOs for the MAL and I still have a lot to work down!!

Yes, I only had one ball of it and I am not sure what I want to make with it yet.
