Thanks for watching! This was a really fun adventure. This was filmed just this last weekend. It's out of order as far as the timeline of videos goes (I still have videos from trips in November and December to publish), but I figured it would be fun to have some winter camping videos up while it's still winter. Also, have you checked out this week's fishing video on my second channel?: th-cam.com/video/LrRy-uFbq4I/w-d-xo.html
I love camping in the snow. I attended the Air Force Arctic Survival Course in Alaska in December when we had about four hours of twilight. I made a snow shelter using logs and and old parachute, covered with snow. It wasn't warm but I didn't freeze to death. I really like your style of overlanding or RVing. I've done the Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro, and Inca Trail on one extreme and backpacking on the other. Your style is a good in-between. Thanks for the videos. Eventually I'll watch all of them.
My favorite part of the video is that you are in my backyard. Nice video. We have 6 inches of snow today in Seattle. That is major news here, because we are not "built" for this. As always, I enjoy your travels.
Yahoo, I'm from and live in Washington ~ Holla from Richmond Beach/Shoreline. Hope you make it to Mt. Rainier it's magical. Eventually try to do both sides, they feel very different camping wise. I used to do glacier climbing and training there, just respect mother natures signs there or it can be risky, lol...
Glad you got to spend some time with your brother. I have not seen anyone go camping in the snow but looks like you guys know what you are doing. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful and quiet. Thanks for sharing.
Stunningly beautiful! I’ve always wanted to see and experience that part of the country- and now I have a tad... and a pretty awesome tad at that!!! Thank you!
Awesome vid as usual. You wouldn't need to leave town to go snow-shoeing this week! Every five or ten years we have snow in Seattle that actually sticks to the ground. Right now we even have snow at the ocean, which almost never happens! Mt Saint Helens is a little shorter than it was when I was a kid, so that was probably Mt. Adams that you saw. 4000 feet is pretty high for us, since we start from zero. It blows my mind to think of 6 or 7 thousand feet.
It's beautiful there. Definitely Bob Ross worthy. Thanks for taking us along. I have no desire to snow camp, so I can experience it vicariously through your videos and others who also enjoy snow. I'm just waiting for the day when I can escape it. Lol.
Hey Trevor! You guys are all the way up there! I don’t do snow ❄️ but it looks and sounds dry... but the view with the snow is so nice when it’s clear... looks like a fun little trek💜
Hey Tristan. You're walking well so looks like the hip op went well. Love your channel. From a fellow RAV4 camper driver in the north of England. Regards, Chris.
Good to see you out and about. That campsite was something else, especially for being 4 miles from the trail head. Was fire allowed where you were? Thanks as always, Tristan.
great 'brother' time :) and dang!! your hip surgury is doing you well :) Im so glad, your such an 'out there' guy im glad it's going to keep you going. Love your videos and your great adventure self. thanks for sharing :)
Great trip for the brothers! Ten minutes in a traffic jam drives me up the wall let alone stuck in a tent for 15 hours. I got the E B GeeBees just hearing about it. Probably not very easy and tolerable for most but I understand that it's part of the adventure, just one that I could not handle myself but much better to watch you. Just can't sit still that long. More power to ya brother! (:
Hi Kathleen. I'm in awe that you voluntarily want to spend summers in Florida 😊 Here's what I wrote in response to someone else who asked the same question regarding the tents. "It's just way, way more comfortable to have your own tent and space. Don't have to worry about your tent mate farting or being restless and keeping you awake or pulling out their food bag for a snack or the light from their phone keeping you up, etc. Having your own tent also means you can keep your gear inside with you, which is convenient. Sharing the heat didn't matter because we had plenty of sleeping bags, etc. to keep us warm."
SUV RVing Thanks for responding-and so quickly! It makes total sense to me. I had been wondering about trade off between backpacking extra gear vs. convenience of separate tents. You are an inspiration to this almost 70 year old who will be solo SUV camping cross country this May. Happy travels!
We rented these snowshoes. They're by MSR. I've owned several pairs of snowshoes in the past, including some MSR ones, and they are what I would recommend. The cheapest ones would be fine for most people and situations.
@@SUVRVing why did you have the operation? did you have an accident or did it needed to get replace because it was worn? you look young so i am worried about myself too.

Hi did you have to reserve your campsite?
Amazed that there are 2 downvotes for this video. This guy is the nicest dude in the world. People are odd.
Shrug. You can't win everyone over. Thanks John!
Yesss to the Sour Patch Kids!! I carry dehydrated everything else when backpacking except for SPK. Worth it! 🥾🏔🇨🇦❤️
Tristan I go to sleep every night listening to your videos you’ve got such a mellow voice I just want you to know that
So no coffee?! No back packer stove. Soup? Seemed like a bit of warmth would be nice. Great adventure.
Another very nice video. The views are beautiful but it looks soooo cold.

Thanks for the kind words! I've done several treks in Nepal but haven'tbeen to Kilimanjaro or done the Inca Trail. They're on the list, for sure.

Great video! What beautiful views, crisp and clear. You gave that hip quite a workout! Hello to Trevor!
I’ve actually never seen anyone camp on snow. Beautiful views.

The snow shoes sounded like darth vader. That’s what most impressed A. I loved the Mt Rainier close ups.
How awesome. I grew up in cashmere and Wenatchee as a kid. I know that area very well. How awesome!

I'm not the biggest fan of snow either, but it's fun to play in every once in a while!

Method valley (twisp and Winthrop) is awesome along with the whole north cascades Highway. Making me super nostalgic.
Awesome views! Thanks for sharing!
Check out Winthrop if you're in that area again - it's an Old West style town. It's just north of Twisp.
Good to see you out and about. That campsite was something else, especially for being 4 miles from the trail head. Was fire allowed where you were? Thanks as always, Tristan.
Not sure if fires were allowed (we didn't plan on having one), but probably. Thanks for watching.

I really enjoyed my 15 hours in the tent. It was great to just relax, read, listen to an audiobook, and eat some snacks.

Thanks for watching, Diane!
Just watched this one. I've noticed you aren't into having fires when you camp.
Personally Id have a fire for the warmth in the snow.
And........ i would love to see that little town "twisp? twist? " go ahead and share if you got some video of it ;:)
Great video
Hey, that's my playground! 😉
Nice playground you've got there!
Love all your videos. Here in Florida, am in awe that you do this voluntarily 😉 Curious about why you brought separate tents. Privacy?

So do snow mobiles make the tracks on the trails, or just people snowshoeing?
A man of many talents! :) Amazing view Tristan.
Thanks!

A closed cell foam sleeping pad and an inflatable camp air mattress.
