Hey Dave, thanks for posting this video. I used it to help me replace the alternator on my 2014 Honda Civic. I struggled a bit with my low quality hand tools, but I got the job done. Thank you.

Hey thanks for the great video. So I have a question. Recently my Honda civic 2012 just stopped working out of the blue. It struggled to start for a few times this morning but refused to start on the third time today. However while the car refused to start, all my electrical continued to work (AC/Radio/Lights etc). I tried getting a battery jump start but it didn’t seem to work. The battery is supposed to be in relatively good health (I had a test done a month ago).
I have a sneaking suspicion it is either my alternator or starting motor that’s the issue. Do you have any tips to closer pinpoint which of these two could be causing my electrical issues? When I trying to turn on the car with battery jump start, I hear a very quiet “whirring sound” but no start. I am also in the process of getting a voltmeter and car code reader computer. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also what length bungee cord did you use to hold your belt?
Thanks again for the informative video!

Hey godwinjoy, it's very difficult to troubleshoot over the internet. From what you're describing it would lead me toward the alternator or stater as you said. I suggest watching a couple starter motor Troubleshooting videos to see if the symptoms are similar to yours.
I didn't measure the bungee cord, I had a multi pack and grabbed one that was a bit shorter than needed when relaxed so that when stretched it provided tension to hold the belt on the pulleys/rollers. You Could measure from the hood where I hooked mine to the belt and then deduct 3-4 inches from the measurememt to get an idea of the bungee cord length needed.
      Good luck!
