This is actually the last song he performed for 5 years, until the new special. This is his goodbye, telling people that he can’t handle all of this anymore. The new song “All eyes on me” explains it a little more. The line “And laugh as he attempts to give you what he cannot give himself” is so heartbreaking to me. He has 3 specials that are all good, but I think the top songs to react to are “All eyes on me”, “from gods perspective” and “sad”. I’m glad you’re enjoying his music!

He finished this performance having a panic attack, which continued for at least an hour backstage - as confimed by the VIP ticket holders who were waiting to meet him, and by Bo himself, in numerous interviews. The Song Are You Happy is indeed after this in the Netflix special, but he didn't perform it on stage.

What's worse is seeing that through his special dealing with the pandemic and shit and him trying to make a comedy special whilst being confined in his own home brought back the anxiety he was suffering from and all that hard work seemed to have been for all for naught. Hope since he did it once before he'll be able to get it back in check sooner, and if it really affects him so badly everytime to try and create and perform his art that he just retires from it cause as much as it would suck to never get content from bo burnham I'd prefer it if it meant he could lead a life without anxiety fucking up his happiness.

Not just the performance style but also the life as a troubled entertainer, perfectionist but fragile. It was definitely not a random choice. I think the Pringles & Burrito rants are symbolizing his life. Pringles = Knows what he wants out of life but can’t have (or grasp) it. Burrito = His life as a celebrity in the spotlight. Maybe he would’ve done things differently had he known what it REALLY took to be a celebrity. Even his comedy is a symbolism of his life. I urge you to go back and watch his first 2 Netflix specials armed with knowing about his mental health. He’s a musical & sarcastic genius with his comedy. Using both of these funny rants (handling Pringles & Burritos) to share his message about handling fame. Glad he had the strength to share ALL of this with the world and bring a spotlight to mental health with his powerful “Inside” special. God Bless

Pringles…once you pop you can’t stop. Once you reach the bottom, it blows up in your face.
Oversized burrito…why aren’t the experts telling him that he’s shoving too much into a container, so it breaks and everything pours out.
His jokes are more loaded than when he is direct…but once he is direct and shares his fears…he doesn’t think anyone cares or wants to hear about it.
So he shuts up…and gives his fans what they’ve come to expect. How can one live up to that level of genius when he can’t let anything go.
The sneakiest line was “I wanna have a daughter”…but he quickly switches from sharing something personal…to the Pringle’s.
He wants someone to help him stay grounded and not do too much. That’s Bo.

Like clearly they are both performers in mental/emotional distress. Were they both using this style of performance as a sort of coping mechanism? You should absolutely check out ‘We Think We Know You’. It’s the finale performance to his special ‘what.’ and it is so insanely genius, it’s hard to comprehend you’re even seeing what you’re seeing.

Woah, you actually know what wet burritos are! I did not expect that, because they're a very regional thing that not very many people even know about. Which is a shame, because they're absolute heaven.

@@KurtisB It's actually pretty interesting. I was curious, and so I did a little research, and apparently wet burritos are a lot more widespread across the US than I realized (though I think still in regional bubbles). I'm from Michigan, supposedly where the wet burrito originated, but it looks like California and Michigan are pretty close as the earliest places they're mentioned.

When you find out the pringles and burrito skit were analogies for his life. Like the burrito being 'Overstuffed" meaning he had too much on his plate to deal with in real life.

  • @seansavage4766

The burrito was a metaphor...it couldn't handle all those ingredients, and he couldn't handle all the stress of entertainment. Both were bursting...Pretty clever

He talks about studios trying to manipulate or take advantage and feeling guilty a lot in his songs. Repeat stuff, Art Is Dead and We Think We Know You .... He touches on it all the time.
If you listen to Art Is Dead after this, if you haven't already you'll understand how guilty he feels.
