    I got I think the last pair of Penta 3 sold in United States. It was in 1998 San Diego. I got them for a great deal. They were $3,000 less than the newer models which side of bike wrap next to the penta. All the newer ones needed subwoofers that Penta I have do not need subwoofers. They wouldn't hurt but you don't absolutely need them like you do for the rest of the B&O speakers

    Hello Vintage Stereo! I have bought myself such a pair of Beovox Penta and they sound quiet amazing! However I am looking for a "new" vintage amplifier to suit them well :) Do you have any recomondations not too expensive? :) I would prefer 80s

      I connected them to a Sansui amplifier and they sound very good... I eliminated the amplifier they came with and connected them directly... the amplifier cost me 100 dollars

      I hardly watch TV, I love listening music, day and night but 60% is just tuner sound(256kb) spotify 20%, phone/hard disk files 20%. I hardly spin cd's ore turntables, only like to test those devices. My records and cd's are taking dust. I love to discover new and vintage sounding devices but I am not a person who invest in expensive cables ore room acoustic. So I am not the ordinary audiophile who is often only satisfied with the best source. I have more fun in listening music from my favorite radio station with very good DJ'S who also have a story to tell between the tracks and who surprise me with songs I don't have ore new songs to discover. Sometimes i rediscover old songs I can spin 10 times in a row. Example: I had 2 albums (George Benson - Give me the night 1980) The first album I wear out and bought the second one in that period. I have now for years the cd but never spin it. Not that long ago I played it from my telephone and rediscovered that song Moody's Mood( a duet with Patti Austin, a recover from a 1935 song), i put it on repeat and heard it many times in a row as if I was back in 1980..... The original song was from 1935 by Frances Langford - I'm in the mood for love but It was jazz saxophonist James Moody who give this song in 1949 more body/power and George made his version in 1980....Artist as Patti Labelle, Amy winehouse, Aretha Franklin, Cliff Richard, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Charlie Parker, Fats Domino, Esther Pillips, Shirley Bassey, Sheena Easton and many more covered this song........From all those covers I think George/Patti is the best .......but now I am exaggerating my answer because your question was not about that at all

      And for me the best way to hear music is still a live show just in front of the artist.... Not even a system from 10.000.000 $ can beat that sound and experience....as soon that artist come up my body start trembling and yes..... that's the real experience not one system can reproduce.. I am not greedy to pay for a front row ticket but I am greedy to invest in expensive cables!.....I heard Marc Anthony 2 times live in Europe but my wish was to hear him in madison square garden - New York, I was willing to pay up to 2x 500$(me and my daughter....when my daughter was younger I took her to all music and theater shows to educate her in music and in theater) for a ticket, but discovered later that a 500$ ticket in New York doesn't even gave you a front row ticket. In Europe you had a front row ticket far under 100$... Funny when I saw that video from Marc Anthony- madison square garden I recognized one of the guitar players later on a live show from Jose Alberto in my home town Rotterdam.

      @@vintagestereo Wow, this is the full answer on my next question ;)
      Sure you have fun when spend your time for collecting and test epic old equipment. But you need only one good amp and sound speakers to enjoy the music. Now I use personal audio with headphones and tube amp for headphones 80% of time. This is my chance to listen music in the evening and at night. I need absolutely silence. Modern Hi-Res music is very cool. It has many interesting details the old records don't have.
      I read, that guys after 30 stop looking for New music and continue to listen only old artists. I'm 40+ but I'm still not. I'm open for new styles and names. The same advise to you.

    • @vintagestereo
      @vintagestereo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@volodyakan5111 Never use my headphone's for music. I only use them for watching video's on my laptop ore when I am editing. When I hear Very good music I can go in a trance, trance of the words, the artists voice, the tune, I never had interest in the details as long the sound was good enough. A better system give you a better sound but it's the songs what make music beautiful not expensive systems. A very expensive system with only bad songs would be a worthless, even if those bad songs(b sides of singles) would be of the very best quality. For me the power of music is the music itself, second place the system.. If there where only 2 choices, the best sound system you can buy today but only classical music (what i sometimes listening to) ore a portable stereo device from 1980 with all the music we have today I would go for the portable device.
