Hello friends, this video feels a bit more vulnerable to me today (though a lot of them do..). But I was wondering what success means to you? Have you ever failed at something so much that you wanted to quit?
Success to me means that I get things done with ease and without struggling - and I'm working very hard to change that perspective! A bit over a year ago I took up playing Taiko (Japanese drums) as a hobby and as someone who understands most things very quickly and easily I found myself being so disappointed after some lessons because I could not remember the patterns while it seemed so easy to everyone else. I wanted to quit after one particular lesson but then I remembered that I started to play it for fun. I made peace with not being the best player in the class and I only rarely get frustrated with myself nowadays :D
Success to me is enjoying my own life. Having a day to day that makes me happy, of course I want to have some extra money and all that but I find more success in happiness the past few years. The times that I have failed so much, I have quit for a while and come back to it but I have to say i find romantic relationships really difficult for me to feel safe and I feel like I have something wrong with me and almost every day I think it would be easier to skip this portion of my life. But the thing is I don’t want to give up just because I’m scared but a lot of times it gets the best of me
I’ve had the chance to review some of your works, and I was instantly drawn to them. I’m interested in purchasing a few pieces. Are they currently available for sale?

When I was much younger, an old boss of mine pointed out to me that I wasted a lot of energy beating myself up and that I could put that energy into making the mistake work out better for my clients and me. Then soon after that I heard Bob Ross say that there are no mistakes, only happy accidents. It completely changed my self-confidence and I was no longer as afraid to leave my comfort zone. I'm glad to hear that you are discovering this too.
In this day and age of social media very few people have the courage to admit mistakes or anything that isn't perfect. Well done you for being real. You will have helped a lot of people by your honesty. Thank you.
I personally consider you a successful person! You are a content creator of beautiful, inspirational, motivational, honest videos that you share with the world! You create and sell gorgeous prints and watercolors, which I now have for my house and a gift for my mom. I am dreaming and planning and struggling to build my cottage shop. I too am terrified of negative feedback and wanting everything to be perfect before opening the doors. My parents owned a business and raised three children doing so. I am amazed by that knowledge. I hope to semi- do the same as my boys are almost fully grown by the time I'm finding my courage. Thank you for this video and I am VERY HAPPY with my postcards! 😊🤗

This video really resonated with me as I’ve always been so hard on myself whenever I’ve made a mistake, even dwelling on and feeling the shame years later. I’m approaching fifty now and I am finally learning how to accept myself better and be kinder when I get things wrong, it’s still not easy though. Your video has been a real inspiration for me and I am so glad that you have not given up. ❤ By the way, the whole VAT and postal thing is a huge nightmare and you absolutely are not alone in finding it hard. But it’s not a problem in you! Just a crazy, bureaucratic system that everyone finds difficult. Keep going as you are. 😊
Often, it's the echo of criticism from someone else in your (earlier) life, rather than you actually judging yourself. If that's the case, then you can simply leave the echo where it belongs... in the past. And you can just continue with what you love most; making beautiful art! Best of luck.

I am 18 and everytime you say "10 years younger me", i compare myself to you and i figured out how similiar i am to your younger self. A silly little mistake like this would make me freak out as well and i would panic without seeing the greater picture. Feeling like a failure and being a failure are totally different terms. Thank you for another lovely video. I could listen to your voice and thoughts for ever, and looking at you painting. Yes I am like you in many ways. I am so afraid of failure and would never feel confident enough to show my painting or drawing unless they were perfect which like you say would mean never. The word perfect is so toxic and kills all creativity even before it has begone. So I say to myself a quote I once heard. Only God is perfect and even though I am not very religious it helps me to create and it’s so much better to create something with flaws than not to create at all, so I am working on it just like you❤️

I have failed at life and I want to quit. Just stumbled on your channel today and in only a few minutes I see you have a husband, house, car, and successful TH-cam channel. I have none of those things and presently no prospects. My only options as I see it now are continue on and hope something happens or take my own life. At this moment, I am veering towards the latter. Forget this minor mistake, and enjoy what you have because some people don't even have that level of success. Best wishes.
What I want you to know is that nobody is perfect. I have all these things, but I've been struggling with depression for the past 10 years. I feel like a failure too, sometimes I feel like I have nothing and none of these things matter. And want to quit every day. Right now I'm taking a break and every single moment is a battle. But I know that it can be beautiful too, the little things. Nothing is permanent. Neither our feelings nor the things we do or don't have. I really don't have the right words to say to you that will make you feel better - I never heard the right words either, whenever I struggled with this. I can completely relate to feeling like a failure. In the past there have been things I didn’t complete or even start because I didn’t think they would turn out perfectly. I’m trying not to think this way as I get older, but it can still be hard sometimes. Thank you for sharing your shop journey with us. hey there daria, really love your painting. when looking at your video i noticed my own feelings. i saw you beginning to paint and really didn't see what it was going to be looking like. i kind of thought it was going to be like childish or amateurish but the more i was looking the more beautiful it got and my feeling changed from flat to feeling beauty and joy. Like life, in the beginning it seems like our lives are lack of structure or beauty but the more we walk the more we understand and see the beauty in the journey we walk. ( i hope i didn't offence you. it is not to say that it is improfessional , rather i noticed this when someone begins something it always seems empty which is normal. but the further they go the more beautfiful it get the more we satrt understanding when we are becoming.)

Hello Daria, I love this video. You are most certainly not a failure. You should be proud of yourself for trying. I have failed multiple times in my life so far but I bounce back from my failures stronger and wiser. VAT is a very tricky area even to me as an Accountant. Especially when it is outside Europe. Hope the course will be helpful. I loved the little village in Wales what a beautiful pretty place. Lots of love xx
El éxito para mí es cuando logras cumplir las expectativas marcadas, pero a veces ello depende hacia donde van dirigidas, si vas por libre, llegas hasta donde quieres llegar !!! pero si hay que depender de las opiniones de observadores, pues ahí viene lo complicado porque a veces lo que uno cree que ha logrado con éxito, otros pueden rechazarlo por la visión que tengan sobre si ello es un éxito, me refiero cuando se trabaja para alguien. Claro que he tenido fracasos y en distintas situaciones, trabajo, amor, etc... pero creo firmemente que ha sido debido a decisiones mal tomadas por mi parte y a no mantenerme firme en mi creencia de lo que quiero para mí y luchar por lo que creo. Eres aún muy joven, así que manténte firme en lo que quieras conseguir, y no olvides que los errores son siempre un gran aprendizaje. I think that you are just perfect, just the way you are. Sometimes mistakes can turn out to be the best things in our lives, and it seems that you found magic in the moments that you may not have had. I am afraid of doing things in case I fail - which is wrong I know, as it has held me back in life. I am a Scorpio, and also have OCD so it is hard for me to do things that are out of my comfort zone, whatever that is. I also do not want things to go wrong that I try, and get so disheartened when they inevitably do, but I know that we learn from our mistakes, so why do I find it sooo hard?! Your opening up to your mistakes on your channel, makes you human. It also helps us mere mortals realize, that we are not alone in our own struggles with everyday life. I make mistakes. I will make mistakes in the future. I understand now because, in the past, a mistake meant a tragedy. Nowadays, I realize that I have to look at mistakes as a way to improve, and learn - this way of thinking makes a difference for me. I still worry, but I do not stop there. I love to find the positive side of a mistake - it gives me a good feeling and encourages me. So be encouraged, you are doing well - keep learning because that is the beauty of life.

You know, I think it’s important to remember that there are real people behind videos, not machines spewing content on demand to suit someone else’s mood. My videos are a reflection of what is going on with my life and my mind at the current moment, and I don’t intend to change that just to fit into someone else’s vision (I’ve done enough of that in life). Isn’t it irritating to get up again and again and change angles and set up camera, then start painting again? Pls give some tips on filming yourself while painting / cooking etc. I saw your earlier video on shooting yourselve while outside. But doing that while inside and while doing simple house chores could get laborious. I’ve tried and haven’t succeeded. I feel like a failure too, sometimes I feel like I have nothing and none of these things matter. And want to quit every day. Right now I'm taking a break and every single moment is a battle. But I know that it can be beautiful too, the little things. Nothing is permanent. Neither our feelings nor the things we do or don't have. I really don't have the right words to say to you that will make you feel better - I never heard the right words either, whenever I struggled with this. There are no right words at all when you're feeling like this. But I want you to know that I am also here, fighting alongside you. Please give yourself another chance.

I can completely relate to feeling like a failure. In the past there have been things I didn’t complete or even start because I didn’t think they would turn out perfectly. I’m trying not to think this way as I get older, but it can still be hard sometimes. Thank you for sharing your shop journey with us. hey there daria, really love your painting. when looking at your video i noticed my own feelings. i saw you beginning to paint and really didn't see what it was going to be looking like. i kind of thought it was going to be like childish or amateurish but the more i was looking the more beautiful it got and my feeling changed from flat to feeling beauty and joy. Like life, in the beginning it seems like our lives are lack of structure or beauty but the more we walk the more we understand and see the beauty in the journey we walk. ( i hope i didn't offence you. it is not to say that it is improfessional , rather i noticed this when someone begins something it always seems empty which is normal. but the further they go the more beautfiful it get the more we satrt understanding when we are becoming.)

Hello Daria, I love this video. You are most certainly not a failure. You should be proud of yourself for trying. I have failed multiple times in my life so far but I bounce back from my failures stronger and wiser. VAT is a very tricky area even to me as an Accountant. Especially when it is outside Europe. El éxito para mí es cuando logras cumplir las expectativas marcadas, pero a veces ello depende hacia donde van dirigidas, si vas por libre, llegas hasta donde quieres llegar !!! pero si hay que depender de las opiniones de observadores, pues ahí viene lo complicado porque a veces lo que uno cree que ha logrado con éxito, otros pueden rechazarlo por la visión que tengan sobre si ello es un éxito, me refiero cuando se trabaja para alguien.
Claro que he tenido fracasos y en distintas situaciones, trabajo, amor, etc... pero creo firmemente que ha sido debido a decisiones mal tomadas por mi parte y a no mantenerme firme en mi creencia de lo que quiero para mí y luchar por lo que creo.
Eres aún muy joven, así que manténte firme en lo que quieras conseguir, y no olvides que los errores son siempre un gran aprendizaje. Un fracaso es solo un nuevo desafío que se debe afrontar para así desarrollar nuevas habilidades para avanzar, NUNCA debe de ser un freno en tu vida.

I think that you are just perfect, just the way you are. Sometimes mistakes can turn out to be the best things in our lives, and it seems that you found magic in the moments that you may not have had. I am afraid of doing things in case I fail - which is wrong I know, as it has held me back in life. I am a Scorpio, and also have OCD so it is hard for me to do things that are out of my comfort zone, whatever that is. I also do not want things to go wrong that I try, and get so disheartened when they inevitably do, but I know that we learn from our mistakes, so why do I find it sooo hard?! Your opening up to your mistakes on your channel, makes you human. It also helps us mere mortals realize, that we are not alone in our own struggles with everyday life. I make mistakes. I will make mistakes in the future. I understand now because, in the past, a mistake meant a tragedy. Nowadays, I realize that I have to look at mistakes as a way to improve, and learn - this way of thinking makes a difference for me. I still worry, but I do not stop there. I love to find the positive side of a mistake - it gives me a good feeling and encourages me. So be encouraged, you are doing well - keep learning because that is the beauty of life.
Nope I nerver afraid of mistakes, mistakes teaches us how to be more councious and more meticulous and trust me after when you know that you made a mistake then the path going more easier we learn a lot things more than we want to be.... ❤

It’s definitely important to remember that the feelings we might feel do not necessarily mean that things are how we feel them. Subjective view is just that, looking at things objectively is a skill and it’s not easy, however very important.

You know, I think it’s important to remember that there are real people behind videos, not machines spewing content on demand to suit someone else’s mood. My videos are a reflection of what is going on with my life and my mind at the current moment, and I don’t intend to change that just to fit into someone else’s vision (I’ve done enough of that in life). Thank you soo much for sharing your experience. I’ve gone through exactly this same situation of launching my art print business, investing soo much time, energy and money into it, to just having to quit it cuz I don’t understand how business works and since then not only have I quit pursuing my business but also painting. My fear of failure, need for perfection and feeling of guilt got the better of me; and I quit 😢
It’s like I cannot face myself anymore 😖 I have my work space and desk and art supplies staring back at me, and I’m trying to hide and run away.

How do you shoot videos with various angles while painting? Isn’t it irritating to get up again and again and change angles and set up camera, then start painting again?
Pls give some tips on filming yourself while painting / cooking etc. I saw your earlier video on shooting yourselve while outside. But doing that while inside and while doing simple house chores could get laborious. I’ve tried and haven’t succeeded.
