The pacing in this video is so much easier to follow. :) You've come a long way in your videos, and I'm here for it. Edit* The micromanagement now makes sense why it's so so so frustrating for the drivers as well. Delivering at all costs - yeah, I flipped a 16' foot box truck on it's side and into a ditch after hitting an ice patch because they had us drive in the worst snowstorm of the year. I got fired. I had outstanding driving and delivery metrics and had been there for over six months. The DSP had only been at that station for 8 months. I was told (on the gossip chain, not from the owner or HR) that it was most likely too expensive to insure me after that. I believe the box truck was totaled, and also took out a sign (I figured it was better than hitting oncoming traffic.) I had to be taken to the ER Trauma unit as well. Anyhow, three weeks later, I applied with a different DSP. I miss working XL, but what can you do.
Do you still have your DSP? If not, why? If yes, how many hours a week are you putting into it at this point and what are you netting? Thanks for the great video. Very thought provoking information.
I'm looking into this and think this is a great opportunity. Her cons are valid but if you are looking into any kind of venture into the logistics field especially in a shipping aspect these are inherent risks. The beauty part of this is that the foundation is laid.
Thank you for this. This is the first video that I’ve came across that’s very detailed and informative and will assist in my decision making if I should ever decide to join Amazon.
I actually have my final interview before getting an offer my advice is your business is going to turn out depends on you. I was an operations manager , dispatcher etc and you have to be a great leader to succeed and retain your employees.
Great presentation! I work for Amazon as an associate and I am thinking to become a DSP instead. As today,July 2nd 2024,I received enough information from your presentation to make a decision.
Thank you Jen for the videos you've posted on the DSP program. The pros are amazing and with anything there are risk and reward. The question is, is the risk too great. I would like the opportunity to connect with you with other questions, if possible. I've worked for Amazon in Human Resources in the past and know how they operate from a warehouse operation. I would like to know, how often did you experience your team not meeting their package delivery expectation. What was your ratio of FTE and PT workers? How many vehicles did you/do you have to run your business successfully? How can I connect with out DSP owners without being in the program?
Thank you for posting this. I appreciate the candor. I think it’s a good idea, but the area I’d want to operate it in wouldn’t work well because of the insurance costs in the state.
Thank you for the content. Are DSP owners actually paying Amazon $10K up front or just proving we have $10K in cash? I assume the expenses can be paid via credit card.
Excellent presentation. I have applied for the DSP Program. How long does it take for Amazon to get back to you? I have also done the financial assessment.
Thanks , very useful information, Im interested to be a dsp partner un Mexico, but I have a question, (I know the politics may vary here en Mex) where do you keep the trucks at night? a mean do you have to have a place to park them or amazon offers you a place to do that?
I still don't understand, where do you pick the packages from, do you set up your own space or you go to the warehouse with your drivers to pick up packages.
Hi ! Just wanted to ask as an Amazon DSP owner do you have to work on the weekends, and or/have to solve problems and take work home with you sometimes? Just trying to get a good idea on the work life balance of being a dsp owner.
Hi I am considering this partnership with amazon, in fact I registered to attending a meeting they doing tomorrow afternoon for information purposes. thank you for this video. Jen, do you still own an amazon dsp?
Hello I wanted to thank you for the video, I am a veteran, what does the DSP program offer for veterans? I am understanding that it would be easier for me to obtain a business loan
Hi, how are you doing? I have a question for you: if I apply for a dsp , i qualify for 10 trucks , after one year Amazon don’t decided to renew an other year how are i will take care? Please let’s me know
Seems like working with Amazon would be more risk than reward. As a former delivery driver for Amazon I can concur on the peak season trials that come. Is FedEx a better alternative?
Basically there is little to no reward for working hard. Yeah you personally might get a profit but tht doesnt often trickle down to people under you. and because of the insane workload they require it might not even be in your best interest to sign your new contract because its just even more work.
Thanks for the information,I feel like the cons out weighs the pros 😩
Right
Absolutely. The 1 year contract is understandable but not worth the risk.
My desire to do it ended today!
This is how videos should be made. Great and straightforward responses!
I appreciate that!
Extremely informative, many of the cons, Amazon did not disclose.

This is an excellent presentation- clear and no waffle- really great. I hate micromanagers so thanks for the heads up lol!
Love the video. I’m considering becoming a DSP owner but worried about the risk

Yes. I’m on route to apply myself and answered a lot of my questions.

How did it go? Any updates?!!

The pros are getting drivers u can trust without damaging vans and RTS WITHOUT A LOT OF PKGS..AND STAY Fantastic+ DAILY
Great 👍 ❤

Thank you very much this video was very informative. And I am considering becoming a DSP for Amazon.
Best of luck!
@@shesjenclarkeIs this a subtle "you know best"? Do you recommend the dsp program ?
Please don't do it!
@@shesjenclarke Hi so the $10,000 do you have to pay that out your own pockets or do Amazon give you the $10,000 to start your business with them?
Good info, I’m thinking about it!
Thanks for the info...i am considering
Any time!
Thank you for these pros and cons. I am seriously considering becoming a DSP owner this year. Do you offer any consulting for people like me?
I am interested and i do have questions, i understand the risk some what, but more information and perspective would be great
With the new changes of fleet allotment reductions, how are you managing?

Can you end up owing amazon money if things doesn’t work out

Great content
I'm work for Amazon OTR looking to become a DSP Owner
I’m interested in becoming a dsp owner
I’m interested in the program and I’m seeking assistance in the application process! Are you available to help?
Hi I am considering this partnership with amazon, in fact I registered to attending a meeting they doing tomorrow afternoon for information purposes. thank you for this video. Jen, do you still own an amazon dsp?
Did you do it?
@@f-empire-8 not yet .. its a bit more complicated for me.
Hello I wanted to thank you for the video, I am a veteran, what does the DSP program offer for veterans? I am understanding that it would be easier for me to obtain a business loan
Per van or per package do you get paid. Does Amazon pay for the employees hrs and you get paid per package? Gow doese that go?
If someone has a DSP in one city, what if he or she wanted to move. Can you switch locations? Or would u have to buy a new one?
With a 1 year contract how long are the leases on the vans?
Hi, how are you doing? I have a question for you: if I apply for a dsp , i qualify for 10 trucks , after one year Amazon don’t decided to renew an other year how are i will take care? Please let’s me know
Great video! Thx for this. So much risk. Obviously, there’s risk in everything but this seems a bit more and the weight of the risks pretty intense.
If you have a DWI can you still get approved?
Do you have to pay another 10,000.00 for the second year? To renew the Contract (if you qualify)
thanks, the cons are way too much for me
Very informative, thank you!
How do I get help and more information from you whenever I’m ready to apply
How soon do they approve you ?
What about the cargo insurance that’s expensive
Do owners have co-owners, does amazon pay the owner and co-owner
Which one is better - FBA or FBM?
is it worth to buy one that is established already?
Can that be done while having a Job? Would i have to be a driver also?
I Would like to become a dsp owner
Pro #7 and con #2 contradict each other don't they?
I was thinking the same thing
What income does a van make a week with 300 stops?
Thanks
No problem
How can I contact you?
I am I the process of getting into this business
I wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted!
As a formal successful business owner.. these cons outweigh the pros by a mile. This is a terrible opportunity. The risk to reward ration is terrible.
Seems like working with Amazon would be more risk than reward. As a former delivery driver for Amazon I can concur on the peak season trials that come. Is FedEx a better alternative?
I think you should of been more specific with the no growth opportunity

A lot of people 80% of the population doesn’t have $10k
It’s not a for everyone. It’s everyone that can do it or figure out how to.
There's no way you can start with just $10k
Hello, Jen Clarke, your videos are not SEO-optimized! That is preventing you from getting more TH-cam views and subscribers.
Thank you for the information, you stated you have helped future dsp owners, do you have a email address the we can potentially talk further
