Thank you so much for this tutorial! I tried to figure out a super elastic ribbing for my leg warmers but didn’t get anything done that rly was elastic enough ❤
Andrea, I am always amazed by your beautiful designs and creativity. This ribbing is awesome! The dark color used for the 3x3 ribbing you mentioned as a hat. I would love to make a beautiful tunisian crochet beanie with this ribbing. Would you share what yarn you used for the example of what looked like a charcoal color and if the pattern for the hat and also those beautiful sweater patterns we got a quick view of will be out soon! Your work is exquisite!🥰
Thank you! The yarn is called Wool Star from Gazzal, superwash merino with 350 m per 100 g. I bought it in Berlin when I visited the SparWolle shop, but I'm sure it can be found in other places that stock Gazzal yarn. The colors don't have names. As for the sweaters, one is a cardigan that I'm working towards turning into a pattern, the other I've shared about in the last vlog and will show the whole piece in the next one, but I don't know if there will be a pattern for that. Need to learn more about grading first.
@YarnAndy Thanks so much Andrea. I love the color of that yarn. I look forward to seeing any new patterns that you make available using this ribbing technique. Thanks again!
First, I love watching your videos and tutorials. They are so calming and informative. Can you make the ribbing after a project is done? For example, if a sleeve is made without the cuff, then add the cuff ribbing after?
Yes! You just add it as if you were making sections with short rows in entrelac or in the sun square. You attach the yarn to the edge of the project, chain however many you need, then just make the alternating rows, picking up one loop on the side of the project for every row. And you use the short row return pass (skip the chain 1) th-cam.com/video/LkPDZqt28T0/w-d-xo.html I'll have to make a video about entrelac soon too.
Thank you so much for puzzling this out. It will change my tunisian game.....
I hope so 😁
What she said!! 😊
GENIUS.🎉Party in the house, we finally have functional tunisian ribbing!!
Thank you! The one using reverse purl stitch is also functional, just not as stretchy 😁
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your discovery/creation. ❤❤❤

Glad it's helpful! You can make the entire leg warmer sideways to take advantage of the vertical elasticity of Tunisian.
