The issue that AM and Mercdes both have is that Merc failed with their rear suspension.
And you can’t change it mid season lol
Yes everything start with Mercedes because everything Aston Martin has is from Mercedes and it’s killing their development. If Mercedes get it wrong coming into the season then it will affect Aston Martin too.
Rear suspension has been a Mercedes problem since 2022.

Yeah I don’t think it’s hyperbole when you say this could be the most important race of the year. Really hoping for all dry sessions so we can get an idea of what’s working and what isn’t. Can’t wait for FP2. ( no sandbagging please! )

Really looking forward to this time of year. Finally getting some proper back to back weekends. I dont get Canada's placement on the calendar, but, hey its a short break.
Idk i like all of the races of course but the season feels so fragmented to me with all of the travel gaps.
im not a logan sargeant fan by any means, but man i hope he has a good race. His reaction after getting knocked out of Q1 and after Kmag took him out were rough, he's been getting shafted this season from using Albon's old broken chassis to getting taken out twice

I don’t remember the exact news article, but if you look up Aston Martin upgrades news it should be one of those. It has his thoughts on the upgrades and Mike Krack and Fernando talks as well. I’ll try to see if I can find the exact one again

How much of an edge do you think Mclaren will have understanding their upgrade package compared to the other teams. As the other team will take some time figuring out how the upgrades work and since McLaren did all of that last race they might be able to abstract more potential out of the car.

Aston is quick but only problem is their tire degradation. if they solve that they will be in top 3 for sure.

My hunch about this season is either going to be confirmed this weekend or we’re ALL delusional for thinking Redbull is dropping the ball. This year is reminding me ALOT of 2018. Merc was FAST in testing but everyone had hopes for Ferrari and there was a big upgrade package rumour beginning of season that WAS true. An Australia win and people started asking “could Ferrari really challenge this year” and they did. The w08 into w09 wasn’t very great for Mercedes. Ended up changing ALOT of the car for the w10 to give basis for the w11. Redbull seems to be having similar issues trying to put more pace onto an already extremely efficient concept.
Well hopefully we don’t get a 2018 but good comparison
I didn't know Mclaren got their new wind tunnel fully operational, thought that was later this year.

I was told by an Alpine worker that they have a big upgrade coming for the 13th round.

For a year now, dan fallows has been downgrading the car… last week they were fighting with alpine alredy..
If it continues next year, haas and williams will be challenging alonso too.. currently they are challenging stroll.
If they do fail will definitely see Aston look to someone else

10:15 I wouldn’t be surprised if the upgrades make em go backwards. Every other team has been moving forward since 22’, while Mercedes has somehow gone backwards.

I think you went over it last video but Ferrari got rid of their bypass duct behind the driver cockpit and replaced it with a cobra like s duct fairing

at this point if rb, ferrari, mclaren and aston got the expected gain time from their upgrade, lets just hopeful theres a four way battle cause that would be fireeeee 🔥

4 way qualifying battle between verstappen norris leclerc and alonso is fair, but i really doubt aston can do anything in the race. if they get their tyre issues fixed, alonso might get in the mix with piastri, and potentially on a good day sainz and eventually perez, but i cant see much more happening for them.

@@Amar-ls7vc at the start of this year and second half of last year i had no doubt that piastri was gonna be fighting with norris and the big guys at the front, but hes been very underwhelming. it seems like he’s gotten even further away from norris. even if the gap between them remained around the same overall (bar china), 3 tenths in the midfield now is more than 3 tenths in the midfield last year. its not even midfield anymore, they are genuinely going to fight red bull. he was having a good race in miami and i really feel for him cause he could have been p5. i can see him fight at the front ocasionally, on very low deg tracks.

Red bull only had 1 average race, they’re not fucked by any means. Miami was a slippery track & it was a sprint weekend, they slightly dropped the ball. They will dominate the next race.

I don't see Aston Martin gaining 4 tenths. That would put them in contention with Ferrari and McLaren, and i don't see that happening.
I think that sadly it's time for Logan Sargent to move to his next phase of his career in WEC or IndyCar. That's too bad, but at a certain point it will have to be a relief for him to move on and get this nightmare behind him.
