UPDATE: after a visit to a wheel alignment shop, it seems that the front wheels are correctly aligned. So there is no need for the camber bolts. The tyres have an even wear.
Absolutely fantastic video. This is what TH-cam used to be all about. Some dude sharing his knowledge and opinions without over excessive self-boasting. Also a great example on how to do a non-English TH-cam vid! Great subtitles and very informative. Thank you! Ignis is a great looking small nugget and surprisingly practical too. Considering on buying one.
@@jimmydk82 thank you! The only thing I got wrong was the fact that the central differential is not electronically controlled, it's a mechanical viscous coupling. The button on the dashboard just puts the electronics in a more aggressive setting to watch out for wheel slip.
Suzuki has 3 levels of 4x4 systems. 1. ALLGRIP AUTO on Ignis. AWD and traction control option. No locking dif. Designed for onroad and light off roading. 2. ALLGRIP Select . AWD with centre lock, TC, and snow mode option. VITARA 3.ALL GRIP PRO. JIMNY. Part time 4wd with centre lock, traction control and low range. So, the Ignis is not designed to go off road, but as we see, the system works well and a few adjustments make a big difference.
Excellent video. Very informative and interesting, thanks to the well done subtitles. Now I have a whole lot of videos to watch while I consider getting a Ignis.
I have an allgrip 2017 . I changed the springs with the Eibach springs(specific for Suzuki ignis Allgrip).I have also changed the rims with 15 inches and tires 185/65/15 . Overall the suspension is much better and more progressive . I am very satisfied with the result .
Very nice tuned and outfitted for offroad use ,i think the rock rails are most important (bent my rail) and even a propeller shaft skid (bent my shaft center holder ) the shaft makes loud "bang, bang, bang" noise hammer it back with my lift jack in the field at heavy rain at the dark ha ha.
Thank you for the appreciation 😊 I'm sorry to hear that you damaged the drive shaft :( but I wonder how you did it? Because it is quite well protected in an channel in the bodywork. Or you were talking about other car not Ignis?
Great video and very useful! And congrats for your set up which is quite impressive! Do you think you could install a bigger tyre size? What do you think would be the limit? Thanks
Thank you! I'm at the limit with the tyres unfortunately, a wheel diameter of approximately 63 cm is the maximum for this car even if it's lifted. You are limited by the wheel arch size and suspension components in front. I'm very happy with this setup I'll maybe get another car for more hardcore tracks in the future.
great video thanks, my wife has the allgrip hybrid version I fitted with nankang m+s tyres and it goes really well on snow and mud. I will try some easy offroad sessions soon
@@ThomasFarina there are aftermarket accessories no need to fabricate one. I got mine with the car when I bought it new. I'm sure that your Suzuki dealer has one in its accessories catalogue. If it's too expensive or the dealer doesn't have it you can look for one similar to this one: www.sump-guard.co.uk/steel-sump-guard-for-suzuki-ignis-2017 (this is the one I have, but there are other models too). Just google "steel sump guard for Suzuki Ignis".
Camber bolts should correct your front wheel camber. I was thinking of a reverse light on the back of my roof rack, wiring into the reverse light and up the boot.
Thank you so much for showing us your modifications and thoughts. Really valuable! The plastic strip underneath the front bumper always looked pretty useless to me. Was it easy to remove?
Great video. It's such such niche market. The most essential thing is a spare wheel. Dont go off road without one. Is there space in the boot ? I'd put it on the roof rack.
True that a spare wheel is good to have, roof rack is the place to put it for sure. I use very thick tyres (extreme tyres Maxxis Trepador copies) when I go off road and they hold up quite well. In case of a puncture I have a tyre repair kit, but I didn't had to use it so far.
If you want to fit slightly bigger tyres and go off road, yes a lift is necessary. If you plan on using it as an economical city car and go occasionally on dirt roads you can keep it stock. I'm here for other questions you might have.
Two extra questions: does the mild hybrid version have the "force AWD" option button? 2. The rear axle is solid, so normally you can lift the car more easily, correct? From the photos in the brochure it looks like it has a solid chassis and 2 solid axles. Is that correct? Thanks for the answers
As far as I know (I DON'T have the mild-hybrid version) the cars with the mild-hybrid system have the same suspension setup as mine and they have "ForceAWD" as well. The suspension is independent in the front (MacPherson system) and solid rear axle with springs and shocks are separately. Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Hi friend. I am from Greece and just bought an ignis allgrip hybrid for my wife. I would like to make it a bit "taller" in case of of road activities. I have bought 4 iron rims with 175/65/15 michelin alpin tires for now and i am thinking for lifting it up.How is the Mp springs compared with the stock ones? Is it ok for the daily driver in the city? Are more stiffer than the stock ones? Stock ones for the city are very nice!! Thanks!
Kalimera :) yes the springs are thicker and stiffer but ok for street use. I have recommended thrm to everyone. You will probably need a spacer for the rear shock absorbers or longer shock absorbers because of of the taller springs.
