  • It was a bumpy start to the school year for students in Howard County, many of whom were left stranded at the bus stop waiting for buses that were either late or never arrived.
“It was just a total a mess,” said Robin Miliner, a Howard County parent.
“It's very frustrating,” said Curt Francisco, another parent.

Got rid of local companies that serviced Howard County for years and replaced with California company that knows nothing about the area. Promised electric buses and did not purchase any of them. They also are paying Zum more per route than the local contractors. Corruption???

You get what you pay for. Cheap, out of state company, and employees flew in overnight... No shocker.

Lol, you mean expensive out-of-state company. They got a sweet heart deal from Howard County government at the expense from taxpaying parents.

If the busses have "issues", they should consider counciling.

What happened to, just walk to school. I don't get these parents complaining about a bus. I had to walk in the snow on the street (non sidewalk area) to school. What a bunch of whining parents.

They're complaining because their taxes went up under the justification that the public education system needed more money, particularly for transportation otherwise they would have to cut bus services. Not only their did their taxes and the transportation budget increase considerably, they're still having to deal with cuts to bus services. It's starting to appear that there was either gross negligence managing the budget and contracting of bus services or flat out corruption.
They were lied to and there's no accountability from the county government. I think they have every right to complain.

Same here. Under two miles, you walked. This area is a very high tax area, whom got what they voted for. 😅

@@ICDeadPeeps Then maybe those parents should pay attention to who they elect and stop blaming others. It's a pathetic excuse. Let's complain and whine after the fact.

@@-Unguardian- Lol, well how about those who are NOT parents, voted appropriately, but was still outnumbered? Saw my taxes go up considerably to see some out-of-state company and probably some local bureaucrat get rich while slashing services.
      I get to complain :)
