Get the diesel certs. Get your CDL. Apply for jobs everyday. Specifically, diesel/18 wheeler/heavy equipment. Same sweat/grime/toil as consumer auto report. Except far less drama. Your paycheck will be consistent. Consumer Auto repair usually exploits honest mechanics.
woah dude really appreciate what you're doing here, thank you so much. After 15 years in automotive about the make the move over to diesel in a couple of months working for a ag dealer. 10k pay bump and loads of training fresh in the door, can't wait. So true what you say about automotive, even listening to you I realised that I was the person in the shop not supposed to make any money most of my career, so true. Hope you keep making videos dude.
I am very happy for you brother. I'm here to see that others like myself don't lose valuable time getting to their goals. Im really an excited to see the message is helping IRL.
One day I was working and the song started playing on the radio. This is it! Make no mistake about it. This is it! You're going nowhere. I turned and looked at my buddy and said, " you listening to these lyrics?" He just shook his head.
I hope I was not pessimistic. I have seen too many good and talented men leave the trades all used up and never having made a fair wage. but "a fair wage is one you accept to work for" as well.
I'm really enjoying your videos. I just left my automotive dealership job and I'm trying to figure out what to do. Before I saw your videos I didn't really consider how important diesel is compared to gasoline engines. I'm thinking now might be time to make the change. I like listening to your videos and I'm looking forward to more instruction. Flat rate is not good, i don't have many good things to say about it. I've never felt more taken advantage of than doing warranty work at flat rate pay. I really think my last job was a social experiment, to see how much people are willing to put up with before they snap.
