I just got a job at Walmart
The founder of Walmart was the late Sam Walton. His children own just over 37% of its stock. Walmart generated a revenue just over $648 Billion in financial year of 2024.
Along with other investors, one of those children owns the NFL team Denver Broncos.
1 pound is 454 grams

8:19 Americans rarely leave America... Search for it's nice to see how other people react to our things, because that would show us how different things are in other places.
Okay now that I've watched further and figured out that they are vegan, please don't ever do anything from vegans again....... They are crazy.
They are buying things I didn't even know was available in a store because no American would eat that
For anybody that says, then why do they have it in the store if Americans don't eat it, there's a lot of non-americans in America
If you think it’s weird to watch a video of people shopping, imagine what it’s like for us, watching a video of a guy watching a video of people shopping.
I find it so interesting to watch different cultures react to American things idk why 😂😂 I guess to humble myself and to be grateful for where I live.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Inception
LOL that's funny...it is really weird we are doing this..watching someone who is watching someone do a video...
imagine how strange it is for me to be watching you through your window, watching a video of a guy watching a video of people shopping.
The British and European fascination with Walmart is kinda amusing to us Americans. 😅
Really? Hehe
Yes, I actually despise going into Walmart, if I have to shop there I usually order online and then go to the store and they bring everything out to your car and load it for you 😂
@@heavin6586same. I became a Walmart shopper again when they started offering pickup and delivery. Before that I don’t think I’d been in a Walmart for years.
I really only go to Walmart if I don’t want to pay the high prices of Amazon because Walmart is cheaper. Like for cotton swabs & such. Most of my other shopping I do is Costco, Sam’s & my favorite is Crest Foods for ACTUAL groceries. Walmart has a lot of things, especially if you go get an oil change for your car & pick up your groceries or just roam around the store checking everything out while you’re waiting on your car to be done. 😂
@@lifebeyondthesalary2458 You do know that Sam's is owned by Walmart???? Sam's is named for Sam Walton. The founder of Walmart.
Yes the plastic bags are in all the grocery stores. I think theses people are just bypassing the bags.
Maine actually passed a law banning plastic bags a few years ago. Although some places have really thick reusable plastic ones that you can buy at check out. I was horribly surprised on vacation after buying groceries when we got there.
In Colorado, we still have the thin plastic bags for produce. At checkout, you need to bring your own bags.
The lack of produce bags are freaking me out, maaan. And right on the cart. Blech
Here in Idaho they have the clear plastic produce bags but, seriously, if the produce has its own wrapper there’s no reason to waste the plastic. An apple or broccoli…yeah, bag that up. I don’t even like my hands touching a Walmart shopping cart
@@LA_HAO have NEVER seen a Walmart without produce bags. And bags for meat products. Same with Costco. Some US states do not allow plastic grocery bags, your own reusable, or new ones for purchas, or brown paper bads, free or for money depending on the locale laws.
Yes, Andre we also use plastic bags for fruits and veggies. They just aren't using them.
shopping tip. get your dried foods first (that's boxed food and canned foods), THEN, fruit and veggies, then meats, then dairy, and last frozen... this prevents the frozen or cold foods from getting warm while you're shopping.
That is my exact routine 👍😄
Although now that you say it makes perfect sense. I've been doing it all over the place. So thank you for sharing.
That's what I do. It also means all your frozen and refrigerated stuff is bagged together so you can put it in a hot/cold bag in your car (Texas heat) and put them away first at home.
Harder to get that with delivery unfortunately.
Yeah nah.. i just organize my list by location in the store so i can start in the back and work to the front. so when I reach the front im ready to check out. The frozen section is right by the produce anyway. Much more efficient than going back and forth to pick out types of items individually. In and out much faster, less time for it to warm up.
Because of the way stores are set up to put the most visually appealing things toward the front of the store, I usual go all the way to the back and work my way to the front. That way I don’t splurge on a lot of eye-pleasing things without getting any substantial groceries. It usually ends up with me getting things in the order you suggest.
Being disabled I buy 90% of my stuff from Walmart online, and they load it up when I get there. I never have to go into the store. Also, some Great Value stuff is good, but some things are better with a name brand. Also, I get free delivery from Walmart, discount on gas, and pick up my medication all in the same place! It's very convenient! Thanks for the great videos!
I'm in a wheelchair. Walmart brings the food to my house and unpacks it for me. Amazon will deliver it, but only leaves it at the door
Me too 😂 just about the same thing I do!
Yep,definitely do delivery
I love the delivery option..especially since my car got flooded and doesn't run anymore.
I have my groceries delivered by Wal-Mart. Their house brand, Great Value, is fantastic. High quality, low priced. Their meats and produce are terrific! I highly recommend grocery shopping at Wal-Mart.
Sometimes watching reactors - reacting to reactors in America was annoying - then I realized how humbling these videos are... You all keep reminding us how beautiful America really is... Thank you...
In the USA, food best-by dates are not dates for safety but dates for quality. The only food with a proper expiration date is baby formula, the only one mandated by federal regulations. As long as the food has been handled and stored correctly, it can be safe to eat past the best-by dates. The best test is to look for and smell for signs of spoilage. Again, dates applied to food are for quality, not safety. Food products are safe to eat past the date on the label, and regardless of the date, everyone should evaluate the quality and safety of food before consumption. Source the USDA. Also, if it's moldy, throw the whole thing out. Don't just cut the mold off, as there are filaments of mold that go deeper into the food.
In addition to best-by dates other products may have sell-by, use-by use or freeze-by or expiration dates.
"Refried" beans is a Mexican thing. Basically it is pinto beans which are cooked (by boiling) and then fried, traditionally with lard but increasingly with vegetable oil, mashing as they fry until they reach a creamy consistency with only bits of bean remaining.

"How many burritos do you eat? " I am from New Mexico. EVERYTHING goes in a tortilla *LOL* I've even put chili dogs in them for less messy eating.
Lol maybe I'm doing it wrong but tortillas make my meals far messier. Is there a trick or something?
@@waldennelson7539 Hahaha! I think you might be making into a taco type situation. Burritos are the way to go! And of course you have to learn how to diaper the burrito.
@@ramonaljensen My burritos always explode as well
Plastic produce bags are in the fresh produce section of Walmart.
I think the UK family overlooked them for their fruits and vegetables

one of the tips for shopping at walmart. when looking at the price tag. there is a small orange square in the right half that shows the 'price per unit' that shows how much per oz or similar measurement... so like if it's in lbs. it would be the price per lbs and you can compare that price per unit to the price per lbs for loose fruit to see which is the better deal... it's on every price tag.
and a yellow price sticker on the product itself is a 'reduced' price.
They’re buying organic food which is going to usually be more expensive
Walmart often will discount fresh fruit and veggies if they have extra or starting to get old, but still perfectly good to eat without worrying about getting sick from it
Those grapes in a bag, the price was per pound, like $7 worth of grapes.
Walmart is not just a grocery store it's a department store with groceries
We love these videos! I'm in the U.S. & I'm fascinated at this & others' reactions.
I go to Walmart several times a week. Besides groceries, I get my prescriptions & sometimes I use the Auto Center for oil changes, etc. My Mother uses the Eye Center & gets her hair done at the Beauty Shop. Happy Father's Day....
I’m a Walmart+ member so I shop on the app and they bag up the groceries and deliver them to my door. I shop weekly for food. If you get at least two deliveries a month the membership basically pays for itself. Love it and the other perks members get.
Yes, there are clear plastic bags to put your fresh produce in all around they are not observant of their surroundings, I'm thinking this family doesn't even use them in the UK because they don't even ask about the bags just put their food in the germy shopping buggy.
Yes, I have been to Walmart in the last week.❤from CALIFORNIA 🇺🇲
Great Value items are mostly good, but there are still things I'll only buy name brand -- like coffee, bread, and mayonnaise.
Well, you're missing out on the BEST coffee. I always buy Walmart's brand of coffee - French Vanilla ? It's so so good!! Try it.
The coffee actually is very good. We get the donut shop blend it’s it’s comparable to the name brand stuff.
They have Walmart Neighborhood Markets which is just the grocery section instead of the full store and I go to that one fairly regularly if I need to pick up something.
Your reminder that groceries only make up about 1/3 of a Walmart; the rest is retail merchandise - and typically an auto service center, an optometrist and eyewear shop, a bank, and a fast food restaurant of one brand or other, and a pharmacy. Once Walmart saved my butt when I got a flat tire in the wilds of Montana, and managed to ride my spare tire to the nearest town and the Walmart there, and get the tire patched just before the auto shop closed.
You forgot a hair salon and sometimes the Entertainment center can be a computer repair shop.
YES! So true!
And the garden center
If they paid attention to the price tags on the shelves they would see that Walmart labels in a smaller text the actual price per (unit of measure) so it's easier to find the better values
I hadn't been inside a Walmart since the pandemic. I get everything delivered to me, from food, to hardware, to craft materials, to shelves and everything in between. I had to prep for a big move and got my tape and boxes from them. I didn't have to leave the house. I have a prime membership, which gets me free deliveries and sometimes an additional discount. They rarely make a mistake, but when they do, not only can I keep what they delivered (they especially don't want food back - too much of a liability), but they also give me a nice coupon. I got one for $15 the other week. I did go in my new Walmart recently, but only because I had to change my pharmacy to them due to the move. Otherwise, I still don't plan to go in the store. I got a file box delivered today. Sunday. It's great.
A pound is 28 grams. Don’t ask how I remember that I can’t disclose 🤪🤣. You should be okay without the GPS Walmart has no “customer friendly back exits” outside of fire emergency exits 🥰. All the doors are located at the front past the main cash registers.
Or 16 oz, reconverted lol
I went to Walmart yesterday. If Walmart doesn't have it, you don't need it!
Refried beans originated in Mexico about 100 years ago and are simple dry beans soaked overnight then boiled with some aromatics (onion and maybe some garlic) until soft then drained and fried with some lard in a skillet and lightly mashed to form a flavorful bean paste that still has bits of bean in it for texture. They're amazing as a side dish with some melty cheese over them or as a component of many dishes.
We put all those veggies in a bag, and yeah there's bags there.
That was actually interesting. I'm not vegan so, it was interesting seeing how vegans shop. Plus, they're somewhat frugal, which I can certainly appreciate!😂
Walmart delivers in most cities and shopping online was such a wonderful benefit when I couldn't leave the house for nearly a year. My husband was receiving end-of-life care (Hospice) at home and I needed to be with him at all times. Walmart carries so much more than just food and being able to buy bed sheets, medical supplies, etc. right from my laptop and have it delivered in a few hours was so incredibly helpful!!!
WAL-MART is more than just a grocery store. It's a discount department store.
Walmart has a bakery should have fresh bread
Garlic is very good for you! And we do use bags for produce, not sure why they are not using them lol.
It’s not surf board, it’s a scim board for riding the shallow waves in the ocean . Lots of fun.
I like to watch people shop, too. Lol. Especially from other countries.
ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES ON FOOD WITH SPECIAL TAGS...
I am going to say this from my own research. Store brands are usually the same product as expensive brands just packaged differently. Remember they offer the same foods all around the world at drastically different prices. That tells you how much markup there really is
Refried beans is popular in Mexican and Tex/Mex cooking. The beans are cooked and mashed into a paste with added spices and lime juice.
Yes, while sometimes burritos and other "Mexican Food" (much of which is really "Tex/Mex" meaning Mexican-inspired food made with some American ingredients for American tastes) are made with whole beans (typically pinto, but optionally black beans), *most* "Mexican Food" is made with "refried beans" which are pinto beans mostly smashed into a paste and thinned out a bit with water. Refried beans are one of the main ingredients in so many Mexican dishes, and most Mexican "dinners" will be served with a side of refried beans and a side of "Mexican" rice - because the beans and the rice together make a completely proteins.
Having worked at a Mexican restaurant, we would make a giant pot of refried beans daily in a giant 50 gallon pot, and we would mix them with a stainless steel (food-grade) mixing blade fitted in a large drill.
Walmarts also have pharmacies so you can get your prescriptions. The pharmacy will be located in the department that sells toiletries, cosmetics, etc.
I’m a merchandiser/ vendor. I’m in Walmarts everyday. Currently I’m only calling on Lowes and Walmarts. Last month my work had us doing Home Depot, Albertsons, Kroger etc.
over 2000 people in 2 hours chose to view you watching people shop...so no, you aren't the only one.
Considering they bought organic items, that’s a very good price.
I go to Walmart probably 3 times a week. Groceries, clothing, household supplies, automotive, hardware, garden, electronics, art/crafts. I mean, I could go to stores that specialize in those things (and I do on occasion), but Walmart is 5 minutes away and most of the other stores are 15 minutes away. Because Walmart has so many things, they aren't always going to have the most or best options, but they generally always have at least 1 option for the item you need and it is often pretty cheep (but food can be sometimes more expensive than a normal grocery store)
Chuckle! Watching these people buy things you see why US people have BIG refrigerators with freezers! They buy a big 5lb bag of frozen French Fries for the three of them. We buy a 5lb bag because it’s cheaper and stuff it in the freezer with the big tub of ice cream. The steaks for gilling, the roast because it’s on sale, the bagged vegetables because they can go into that freeze and get used as needed. (I have a heat sealer to reseal bags after using what I need.). If the food isn’t going to be used in the next day or do the big fridge Is necessary because we do not go to the stores every day or so. In fact I usually don’t go grocery shopping more than once every two weeks or less.
I always try to keep some Great Value pasta in my home for emergencies. What I mean by that is that sometimes the weather changes really quickly from one minute to the next here in Florida. It can be sunny and 100 F one minute and pouring rain the next. And when that happens, I do not always want to go out and get food for lunch or dinner. That's when I eat Great Value.
Wow she gets her way about everything
I went to a Walmart today to pick a Domino's pizza. The Walmart near my home in Florida has a Domino's inside it. I walked into Walmart, grabbed a shopping cart and then entered Domino's to pick up the pizza I ordered online.
I go to Walmart to shop for food once a month. Sometimes once every two months if I can buy everything I need in one trip.
We do usually use plastic bags for fresh fruit & veggies. They're just not using the bags.
I went 2 days ago. I go to Walmart at least
2-3 days a week.
I avoid Walmart for groceries. Our local Grocery stores offer local produce and meat. To me, it's worth paying 5 - 10% more on other things.
There are usually rolls of plastic produce bags to use put up around the produce displays. Some store provide brown paper bags to put the produce in while shopping. I bring my own mesh bags that have the bag’s weight (multiple sizes) that the cashier will subtract that weight off the price so I like those plus they’re reusable too.
37!!! 🎉
Yes there are plastic bags all over the fresh foods and meat departments. Dried pasta is all the same so buy the
cheapest.
I get my pasta at Aldi,as it is $1.99 for a 3lb box
Yeah. I went to walmart a couple days ago for groceries. Also there are definitely bags around the fresh produce area you can grab. They probably just didnt think about it or didnt notice them
Lol! Refried beans are a delicious Mexican style bean... so good!!! You can eat it anytime of day. I love it with eggs at breakfast. But it's also used in burritos, enchiladas and tacos. It's a very tasty staple to have in your pantry to use in many ways.
I’m going to Walmart tonight to get some garbanzo beans, or chickpeas. I just went vegan after a hiatus. In the past, Daiya pizza was pretty great. Now, I would describe the dairy free cheese as…sticky. It melts and stretches better, but it feels sticky. It sticks to your teeth when chewing. Really throws off the whole fake pizza experience.
Agree with you about the dairy free cheese.
You’d be surprised how many vegan options there are for cakes, burgers, sausages, etc.. they can pretty much make a vegan version of most things
32:46
most bbq sauces and flavorings are ok for vegetarians and vegans... most of them are only made with plant based ingredients....
If they are getting eggs they are not vegan they are vegetarian
Sadly the food products with Walmart labels are less expensive than popular brands, but the quality is unsatisfactory very often with the cheaper purchase.
I love this family, very chill, positive and relaxed content!
Important Grocery Shopping Tip #37: Putting the word "Organic" on something makes it cost twice as much. Save your money, and don't waste it on magic buzzword labels.
I like the fact that they don't spend all their time in the snack and candy aisles.
They don't sound like strict vegans.
Refried beans are like a thick bean paste.
37! to answer your question I'm a vegan watching this! the US has tons of vegan meats and cheeses as well as tons of products like oreos which are vegan, because companies do not add eggs and milk to make their product last longer. most vegan meats are made out of soy or vegetable proteins. there's also a huge amount of vegan milks, coffee creamer, etc.
Thats not meat, or cheese....
Just look at the top of the end of each aisle. There are signs that show you what is in each aisle. Also, the aisles "flow together" pretty logically....
And yes, there are plastic bags for the fruits and vegetables. They're just not using them.
Roflmbo. Not a bad idea about the GPS. I work for Walmart in the Electronics section. It is like the British ASDA shop. There are plastic bags provided for the fruits and vegetables. Continued Success
I usually grocery shop at Walmart. Walmart Greal Value brand are usually quite good. I also use their pharmacy, so convenient.
You have to remember you get what you pay.
We call them spring onions also
Yes, *Great Value - is the Walmart brand. And yes, definitely there is plastic bags with twust ties for all veggies and fruits to keep the fruitbabs veggies sanitary. Tge plastic bags abd twusts are everywhere, all around the fruits, veggies and raw meats too. Weirde they are not using them. They are definitely available and free. Americans would never not use the plastic bags and twists for fruit and veggies, we would never set the raw produce in tve cart lime theyre doing. Also, Walmart has a Deli departmrnt, a Bakery Department, a Meat Department and a Seafood Department where in addition to what you see in tbe store ailes, you can buy items fresh. We also have corn snd sweet corn and Peas and sweet peas. Etc., we offer fresh in produce, canned in csns, jars and frozen.
37, Enjoyed the reaction. Nice to watch someone that is just giving the opinion and not going over the top with overly obnoxious antics.
GPS wont help you inside a store LOL. If you're lost in a store in the USA, try looking up. Most stores label their isles with some sort of elevated signage. Plastic bags are available for the produce they just aren't using them.
I work at Walmart and it's fun to watch people that travel to America and it's amazed how big it is.
We have ridiclous inflation in the US right now. A lot of things are doublethe price they were back before covid( back when we had a goodpresident)
Yes, Andre, it is normal to use plastic bags for vegetables.
I guessed right what they spent. For some reason, I too, am watching them shop at Walmart. They are so cute and entertaining. Love the accent. Not sure why they are throwing their produce in the cart without a plastic bag. I would never. The cart is germy. We have plastic bags too.
I have been vegetarian for over 10 years (I am an old lady).
Youngest son & DIL are vegan, & make AMAZING food.
Just a lot of work, & they use fresh spices.
You smacking your lips when they went to the desserts was priceless.
There are hanging metal baskets in the produce aisle that are scales for you to weigh your produce!
One thing that some viewers may not think about is the availability of the products. A lot of the fruits/vegs/meats are seasonal or cheaper around holidays, Also vegetarian/specialty products may be more expensive because less request & consumption. The US is a nation of excess in a lot of cases.
The food prices have more than doubled here in the USA in the past four years especially when you consider that the product sizes have gotten smaller
Also, the prices are higher in some areas than others.
Grocery stores have scales in the produce department so you can weigh things sold by the pound. No guess work needed.
went to Walmart and got new tires.
Never put produce directly in the cart. Yes, we use plastic bags too. I assumed it was a British thing.
This was a lot more entertaining than i expected 😂😅. Yes I've been to Walmart in the last week. I'm in California. And we do have plastic bags. In fact, i don't think I've ever seen naked fruit or veggies in a check out line lol
Walmart is not America's biggest supermarket.
You are correct only if you don't classify Walmart as a supermarket. It sells ¼ of all groceries sold in the US, more than any other store including what you may have been thinking of: Kroger (and all its subsidiary brands).
Kroger is I think
@@walterrepass3957 Walmart sells more groceries than Kroger. The question is whether you consider Walmart a "supermarket" or a general merchandiser. Kroger is the largest pure supermarket group (they have many brands).
@@walterrepass3957 Except Walmart is everywhere. We don’t have Kroger in my area.
Oh but it is. Kroger is number 2.
That bread is called Dave’s Killer Bread. Super healthy and the thin sliced is my fav. Vegans eat cake. We have egg substitutes we use. You can substitute applesauce or soaked flaxseed for egg as a binder. You can find foods to substitute for all dairy products
Costco is not meant for a regular family grocery shopping, it is meant for small businesses (restaurants, ect.) that's why it is giant and more warehouse-like. Walmart is for the general public, that's why you see it as more 'iconic'.
Not true what so ever
Most shoppers at Costco are families, though there are some businesses too.
Most big stores have scales 12:46 you can see them hanging down.
If you are at the plants and toys and you want to be in the grocery section, it is at the other end of the store (front).
I typically stop into my local Walmart at least twice a week.
Nothing against me at, but I've been vegan for over 10 years. There's so much good vegan food. It isn't a struggle at all. They missed a lot of better options too because they didn't recognize local US brands. :)
I work for Walmart at one of their distribution centers. Yes, I have shopped at walmart in the last 7 days mainly because as an employee I get a 10% discount on most items. Walmart strives to be all things to all people when they reasonably can.
Refried beans are pinto beans cooked in water til they're soft, water is drained then beans are mashed with a small amount of lard or oil. They can be eaten as a side dish or put in tacos, burritos and chimichangas.
I went to Walmart this morning for some eggs, bacon, and toilet paper. As for plastic bags for produce, we have them all around as well but they are optional.
This is a true view of walmart shopping. They did a good job! Unfortunately, they are in for a shock about the baked beans. US Bush Beans dont taste like British baked beans. We dont flavor them the same way.
I was at Walmart just 4 days ago to get coffee on sale...I also needed bread...The problem for me at Walmart is that I shop from a grocery list, but end up putting all sorts of other things in my cart and spend much more than I had planned....I do stock up on things we eat regularly, eggs, cookies, granola bars etc. There are plastic bags at every grocery store for produce {fruits & vegetables}....
They have a garlic hummus sooo good
Most packaged foods are labeled with both metric and American measures, they may not realize that yet. No reason to struggle, it should be on the label for most items!
