    Folks we may be seeing the very future of fighter aviation. And it stared with a dream, a radical RC, and maybe in 50 years or so the first purpose built Veritech fighter leaves the ground and makes history as the first multipurpose ground/air weapons system. Awesome work!!!

    Glad to seen such a true representation of the VF-1. I am currently working on the math for a turbine powered 80lb model that will test out "Guardian" (GERWALK) transition and feasibility. Trying to get to the point of possibly doing a "go fund me" for the two $4-5k engines and carbon fiber molds/structure. So far the math works out in one axis which is perfectly fine for tether testing. Doing the 2 axis calculations to include roll balancing , leg spreading essentially, is a bit trickier in the physical design as well. Major thing is getting the design under the weight for a reasonable TWR (>=2.0) and not tear itself apart with how strong the servos ill be needing are.

      @@RealKingkong9888 Robot mode for toy models is useless other than proof of concept that you can program active balance and walking. Robot mode in reality would be beneficial for when you want heavy weaponry for a waltz through the woods or a tight urban environment.

      @RealKingkong9888 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      C Rodriguez You actually got a good point. Never thought of that. That is why you need the Marines or the Army if you want to occupy a territory. You can’t just do it with the Air Force... the Robot mode is just basically a bigger marine/solider/tank...

    I'm in the process of building a sub-micro scale 115mm wingspan model of Rick Hunter's Fanracer from the first episode. It's entirely balsa and but have a bit of depron for the motor cover; the airframe is nearly finished. Likely will have 3-4 channels from Plantraco electronics...it's my first rc aircraft of such small scale so it's a bit tricky. I've built some quick depron chuck gliders using the design and the flights were quite impressive so it's definitely workable. I'll probably build a larger more conventional scale version eventually as it's in my eyes such a cool little plane.

      @@MegaroadProducciones I was getting ready to post that the lack of rear stabilizer was fixed by thrust vectoring.

    • @JoseSanchez-zk2zb
      @JoseSanchez-zk2zb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neodecker Yeah, but I dont think that in this specific model, they actually used any thrust vectoring, hence the long ground rolls for take off. Had they actually used thrust vectoring, they would have achieved shorter take off rolls. Here are a few theories on how they may have done it: They are basically using full-span and slightly extended flaperons on the trailing edge of the main wing that "mimicks" the same or similar pitch effects as a classic Delta design would have and the c.g. is moved back just enough so that the total weight of the airplane will not make it too nose heavy and this in turn keeps the body flying in a straighter more horizontal path. I imagine that the weight of the engines, also comes into play. Furthermore, if you look at the airplane from the top, you'll notice that the wings are highly swept back and then in this case again, the flaperons act as "extra stabilizers" helping the vertical tails to do their work of stabilizing the whole craft on a longitudinal plane (yaw). This also helps taking in the fact that the vertical stabilizers are a little bit small in area to begin with. This "flaperon yaw control technique" can be clearly seen on the B-2 Stealth Bomber which uses NO vertical tail(s) for its yaw control also relying on computers to make adjustments during its flight profile. I have also made some gliders based on this flaperon control principle. One example of the many that Ive made throught the years, was that of a Mig- 23 that I had made with a swing wing mechanism. The difference here of course is that the Mig-23 has horizontal stabilizers but I remember that when the wing was in the swept back position, the nose would become heavier, requiring increased upwards angle on the elevators and the flaperons and this generally solved the problem together with adding some weight to the back section with a small piece of lead. It resulted also in increased speed and made for some really impressive flights and remember, that this airplane I made was a paper free flight glider or more appropriately " fighter- glider".
