    One tip: all those little crackle bit from the leftover in the cup - save them! You can mix them in other pours and it turns out like terrazzo. You can wet sand the finished surface and it exposes all those bit of color; it's really so beautiful!

    I used this, for the first time, about 2 weeks ago. It is seriously cool. When it cures, it feels like a really high quality ceramic type thing (if you've ever touched a Hummel figure, it's like that). It is paintable with regular acrylic craft paint. BUT, you will want to experiment with various brands (some work GREAT, some don't work well at all). Folkart brand worked really well for me, but it does take a little while to dry... If you are going to paint, I recommend waiting a few hours. I noticed, if I put it on a paper towel, after de-molding, the paper towel was damp. After a couple hours, all the water evaporated.... This is fairly strong, but keep in mind, it's like ceramic or porcelain, but a little stronger. I made a coaster and tried a few drop tests. I'm about 5.11. I tried from waist high on a tile floor and it was fine. Chest high, it broke in half (which I found reasonable).... After this is mixed, it's VERY runny. It's about the consistency of milk, but will cure enough to de-mold in 20 to 30 minutes.... To give you an idea of the strength, I have molds for chess pieces. Some of the molds (like for the king) have some really small parts (like the cross on the top of the king). I was 100% sure that would break off when I tried to de-mold. Nope, all of the pieces easily came out of the molds... If you want to make things that come out like ceramic/porcelain, this stuff is what you want.... I can't say enough good about it, I love it... The ONLY thing I don't like is the price, but, I guess you get what you pay for.

    I love this stuff vs Hydrostone, Hydrocal, and Cement All. It's so smooth and very little air bubbles.

    THANK YOU for interpreting the ratios/mixing directions on the ResinCrete! I was a little confused by the instructions on the back, but you got it spot on! Now to go play with this new stuff. :D

    The wax will seal and protect it. Based on another video I saw (because I bought this but haven't used it yet) you get a lint free cloth and just rub the wax in to seal the product since it is porous. You can also buff afterwards to get a bit (but not much) of a shine. I've also seen people use UV resin to gloss coat and use acrylic varnish as well. Liked your simple demonstration a lot!

    That was my mistake too, my mixture was too watery. Glad you simplified the ratio for me. Thats where i messed up. I'm excited to do this!

      It is, it's really easy. MUCH easier to mix than epoxy (the powder melts easily in the water). It's also REALLY easy to clean up. I love that you can just wash your cups and stiring sticks, so you can re-use.

    THANK YOU!!!! I got this and could not understand the mixing quantities. I watched a video and she got the quantities backwards but never updated her video to say that. So I’ve been mixing too much water in with the resincrete and being so mad at this “crappy” product. I’m mad at myself. I can’t wait to try again with the right information. Thank you again!

    Does this product smell? Do you have to wear a mask like with resin in case of developing sensitivity? Thanks

    • @CleverGirlsCraft
      @CleverGirlsCraft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no smell that I've noticed, but it is dusty so wearing a mask isn't a bad idea.

    I also have bought the kit, and was very disappointed that there was no instructional sheet included. I would love to know how to get more vibrant colors versus pale/muted colors.

    • @CleverGirlsCraft
      @CleverGirlsCraft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really hope they include a guide in the kit for future customers. The ratio had me second guessing myself so much lol! Plus I’m horrible at math soooo, I’m just glad it turned out ok in the end lol!

    • @CleverGirlsCraft

      Oh and the colors! When I used the black pigment it came out super bold after adding quite a few drops. I’m going to make a color scaling/guide video soon, hopefully it will be helpful to others.

    • @joshuabray37
      @joshuabray37 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far, I've tried the pigment that came with the kit, and Mica powder. The results were basically the same (pastel). You can paint it. I tried a few brands of acrylic craft paint. Folkart brand paint works REALLY well (but does take a while to dry, maybe an hour or so). The paint seems to soak in REALLY well. I couldn't scratch it with my finger nails.... My plan is to make Christmas ornaments (basically disks with a hole at the top) for my daughters to paint, and egg shapes for them to paint.
