As a young kid I used to imitate Billy Epstein because of his relaxed style of singing. My first recollection was him singing secret love. I forgot about him until tonight I came across his music on TH-cam, thanks TH-cam.

Every time I listen to Billy I fill on top of the world and I feel like shouting at the top of my voice and ' Go Billy don't stop' unfortunate this is a dream that is born from the love and warm filling only one gets from hearing good singers.

When a junior in H.S., I had a friend who, like me, was into modern jazz and the Harlem Renaissance. His inspiration was Charlie Parker - mine was Billy Eckstine - I was a romantic!

There is nothing better than this. Unbelievable. Im just speechless. Talk about some real deal blues right here. Im upset that im just barely discovering this. This is life changing blues. My soul has been filled. Ive heard of the horn players but never Billy Eckstine, and I dont know why. He is amazing.

Thank you millsbrothers for bringing him back . No one has ever delighted more couples infatuation with music than Mr. B, I still have his 78's Caravan, Stella By Starlight, Still of the Night, etc....

I had the pleasure to saw him singing - on a white suit - in the 80's at the Maksud Plaza Hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Great show!

No one can come close to him, that rich, deep, baritone, and those great Mr. B collars we all used to wear to try and be like him.

Nobody else ever had that vibrato throughout their entire range and volume. Nobody else ever had that effortless power. Eat your heart out Frank,Tony, Dean, Engelbert, et. al.

All that and such a class act, too,
But was Engelhart really up there with Frank, Tony and Dean?

He stood apart from the crowd in so many ways, classy handsome perfection naturally talented I could go on forever! He’s always been a favorite of mine. We were so blessed to have had him and still have his music, thank you!

I had this LP, it was from an all-star concert in New York in 1972.
It was 40 years ago, and sounds 40 times better than anything new out there now.

His music was never played in our home, and as I grew up and began paying attention to music I was never aware of him on the radio or elsewhere. But it's funny - Most of his songs when first heard (eventually) sounded so familiar and were as nostalgia to me. Perhaps I've live a dual life, one overlapping the other, because I've felt this way with other music. So when people say music transcends, who can know for sure what exactly it does transcend. Anyway, whenever it was I actually first heard Mr. 'B' I'm very grateful I did! 2/2018

I think you saw Billy Daniels. At that time, the highest paid performer in Vegas. If he sang "That Old Black Magic" then it was Daniels (who had snow white hair).

We tried so very hard to preserve this type of music by purchasing the Dixie Pavilion between Wayland and Bradley, Michigan; this structure was destroyed on purpose by the Kent County, Michigan Probate Court while the official of Wayland Twp. stood by and said nothing.

MG: Sorry I don't have the info. I have a two cd set of Mr. E which is fantastic. I don't have the discography at hand. He sings four songs with Sarah Vaugh which are great. They sent me scurrying to find a Billy and Sarah album which I have not found yet. Love Mr. E!!!!

I found a double-CD which has many of his great songs. As usual the record company inserted some bad quality "jazz" songs which were fistly bad quality and secondly did not really fit into the mood. But the over 50% were fantastic. I am sure that there must be other CDs out there.
